1. Safety Notes

1.1 About Safety

Riding an e-scooter involves certain risks. To ensure your
safety, it is important to learn to ride safely and obey the local
rules and laws governing e-scooter usage.

1.2 Safety Precautions

  • Before riding, always check the tyres for any damage and ensure
    all fixings are tight. If you have any safety queries, contact your
    local distributor.

  • Familiarize yourself with this manual and keep the e-scooter in
    good condition to avoid losing balance or falling over, which can
    result in injury.

  • Do not use the e-scooter in a way that may harm other people or
    their property.

  • Prohibited activities include any conversion of the e-scooter
    that may change its performance or damage its structure, as this
    can cause serious injury.

  • Prior to riding, take necessary safety measures such as wearing
    sportswear, a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads.

  • Do not submerge the e-scooter in water as it can cause damage
    and pose a safety risk.

2. How to Ride the E-Scooter

Follow these instructions to ride the RS1 Plus electric
scooter:

  1. Ensure the e-scooter is fully charged before use.

  2. Stand on the scooter with one foot on the deck and push off
    with the other foot to start moving.

  3. Use the throttle control to accelerate and the brake lever to

1. Safety notes

1.1 About safety

1.2 Safety precautions

There are risks involved with riding an e-scooter. For your safety, please learn to ride safely and obey the local rules/laws.
Please check the tyres for damage and that fixings are tight before riding. Please contact your local distributor for any safety queries.

Please note that you may lose balance, or fall over when you ride an e-scooter. To avoid injury, you should familiarise yourself with this manual and keep the e-scooter in good condition.

Please do not do anything that may harm other people or their property with the e-scooter.
Any conversion of the e-scooter is prohibited as it will change its performance or damage the structure, which may cause serious injury.

Safety measures should be taken before riding, e.g. wear sportswear, helmet, knee pads and elbow pads.

Please do not submerge the e-scooter into water, which will not only damage the e-scooter, but also cause a safety risk.

Take caution when riding in the rain.

DO NOT ride with loading. DO NOT ride with more than one rider.

DO NOT ride if you are pregnant.

2. Product information
2.1 Overall view

DO NOT listen to music when you ride the e-scooter.

Be careful of uneven, loose or slippery surfaces. Avoid slopes, stairs and poorly lit areas.

DO NOT use in dangerous areas, where there is a risk from flammable materials.

2.2 Operation of buttons

Power Switch: A. Press and hold the power button to turn on/off.
B. Press the power button twice to turn the headlights on/off. The tail lights are always on.

Throttle: Press down the throttle button to accelerate.
Brake: Apply pressure to the brake lever to brake. Lightly step on the rear fender to assist the brakes.

Function button: Press function key to switch riding modes.
Beginner mode (10km/h limit) Gear indicator is not displayed.
Normal mode (15/h limit) Gear indicator shows white.
Sports mode (25km/h limit) Gear indicator shows red.

Cruise mode: Maintain a set speed for 6 seconds to enter the cruise mode. Exit the cruise mode by pressing down the throttle again, or by braking.
Indicator: Press Left or right arrow once to turn indicator on, press again to turn off. Both can be turned on as hazard lights, press each separately to turn on or off.

2.3 Assembly instructions

1. Pull up the stem towards the front wheel.

2. Fold clip in firmly, ensuring it clicks and button is tight.

3. Secure the two wires together inside the stem.

4. Attach headset to the stem, then screw in 2 screws each side using the Allen key provided.

Note: If the mechanism becomes loose, tighten the screw accordingly.

2.4. Folding instructions

1. Push/slide the button up.

2. Pull the clip firmly away from the stem, while pushing the stem down.

3. Fold the stem towards the rear.

4. Align the hook with the fender clip on the rear fender and press down till it clicks.

2.5 Uninstall/Install the battery Uninstall

1. Push battery clip in and hold.

2. Push the battery up, away from the bottom of the stem.

3. After pushing the battery up, pull it out horizontally.

1. Insert the battery horizontally into the pole, while pushing the battery clip in.

2. When in, let go of the battery clip, and push the battery down until firmly secure.

3. How to ride the e-scooter

Wear a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads when you learn to ride the e-scooter.

1. Press the POWER button for two seconds.

4. Press the THROTTLE slightly with your right hand to start and rotate the handlebars to turn.

5. Continuously press the throttle to speed up.

2. Put one foot on the base plate and push off the ground with your strong leg.

3. Balance both feet on your e-scooter when you have enough momentum.

6. Apply pressure to the brake lever to slow down or stop.

7. When the e-scooter stops or runs at a slow speed, you can get off.

4. Battery instruction

The instructions show you how to charge and maintain the battery and provide some safety notices and the technical specifications. Please use the battery properly according to these instructions to prolong battery life and performance.

4.2 Battery safety
Do not disassemble the battery.
In the unlikely event that there is a leak in the battery or it overheats, do not use or charge it and contact us.
Do not let children touch the battery. Always unplug the charger before installing the battery or riding.
If you want the e-scooter to run most efficiently, the battery must be charged and used within the temperature range indicated in the battery parameters.

The battery contains dangerous substances. Please do not open the battery. Do not insert anything into the battery.
NEVER throw batteries away in general rubbish. Take the exhausted battery to a state approved battery recycle centre. Call your waste collection service to find out if they offer disposal of batteries.
Do not charge the battery at high temperature or charge the battery in a high temperature environment.

Lithium ion batteries are considered dangerous and require local law to allow transportation.

Only use the original charging equipment to charge the e-scooter.

4.3 Charging instructions
Open the charging port cover, make sure the charging port is clean and dry.

Connect the charger to the battery and the plug to a power source (100V-240V; 50/60Hz). Make sure the charging light is on.

When the charger indicator is green, charging is complete.

Tips:
Connect the charger to the AC power first, then connect it to the battery.
After charging, cover with the dustproof rubber to prevent anything from entering the charging port and causing battery failure.

6. Maintenance

Storage

Make sure the e-scooter charger and charging cord are disconnected and ensure that the e-scooter is off.

Please charge your e-scooter before you store. Please ensure this is done at least once every three months.

Check the brake system and tyres at least once a month because they are sensitive parts. If braking performance and tyre grip are impaired, contact your local dealer or Riley Support to purchase replacement parts.

If the storage temperature is lower than 0°C, please don’t charge the e-scooter. Please keep the e-scooter in a suitable place indoors, keep dry and at the appropriate temperature.

Wipe the shell with a soft damp cloth to clean the e-scooter. It is important to clean the e-scooter regularly to minimize the buildup of dust and dirt which may impact the performance of the e-scooter.

In order to protect the user’s safety, do not take the e-scooter apart, otherwise the warranty of the product will be invalid.

Do not clean the e-scooter with a jet wash or by soaking in water. This will cause permanent damage.
