OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

To operate the charger without using the app, follow the instructions below:
I. Initiating the Charging Process:

  • Plug the NEMA 14-50 connector into the wall outlet.
  • Adjust the current by pressing the control box button. Initially, the previously stored current setup will be shown.
  • Connect the J1772 charging connector to the car, ensuring it’s securely and firmly attached.
  • Once all components are properly connected, the charging session will commence automatically.
  • To adjust the current: Unplug the charger from the vehicle, change the current by pressing the control box button and then plug it in the vehicle. (The current cannot be changed while the charger is plugged in the car)

II. Terminating Charging Process:

EV CHARGER SETTINGS ON PHONE APP (FOR WiFi Models)
Go to the Wi-Fi network option on the phone and find the charger network.

  • Network Name: SBEVC ****
  • Password: SmartPower123

Note: **** is a 4-digit number. Every EV charger has a different number. Find your charger’s network name on the back side of the charger as shown in the picture below (example).SBB Level 2 Portable EV Charger Wireless Monitor

  • When connecting the phone to the Wi- Fi network, it may show “Internet may not be available”. However, the charger data can be accessed on the phone.
  • To connect the phone/laptop to the charger’s Wi-Fi network, first plug the charger into an electrical socket.
  • The charging status can be monitored remotely at any moment after connecting to the phone.

Monitor

The monitoring screen for the Smart Battery Bar will instantly appear in your web browser upon establishing a Wi-Fi connection. If the screen doesn’t open automatically, enter the IP address (192.168.4.1) into the browser’s address bar (compatible with Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.) and then hit the enter or go button.

GUIDELINES TO USE PHONE APP (FOR WiFi Models)

I. Home

Ready, Charging, Paused, and Charged along with the current charging information.
Utilizing the pause button (circled area) displayed on the screen, you have the capability to remotely start and stop a charging session.

screen 2To prevent unauthorized usage during your absence, you can remotely engage the lock function for the EV charger by pressing the designated lock button (circled area) on the screen.SBB Level 2 Portable EV Charger Wireless

Setting charging current: 10A/16A/20A/24A/32A

  • If the charger is actively charging your car, modify the current by selecting the desired value from the “Set Current” option on the monitoring screen or using the control box button.
  • If the charger is not actively charging your car (while in the ready stage), access the “Charge settings” button to configure the current settings.
  • If the charger settings are set to “Charge on Schedule” then current cannot be changed using control box button. Current can be changed in “Charge Immediately” mode only.

Control - Monitoring screen 4 Current: Click the edit button when the charger is not yet charging the car (in the ready stage) to modify the charging current.
Charge immediately: Enabling this feature will begin charging the vehicle as soon as it is plugged in.
Charge on schedule: Enabling this feature allows you to plan the charging session for a more suitable time during the day.
Disable Charger: Enabling this feature will block the usage of the EV charger in your absence.

  • Enable the charging schedule feature to charge at specific time-periods.
  • Helpful Tip : You can schedule charging during off-peak hours when electricity rates are lower.

b. Energy Rates

  • Manually enter your utility rates to get estimation on the costs of the charging sessions.
  • Add your utility rates for different hours of the day. For example, prices of utility rates may be different during off-peak hours and weekends.

To ascertain the amount of energy consumed and the associated cost of charging your vehicle, view and download previous charging session.
To view the charging rates and energy consumption for a given time, add a start date and an end date.
