CAUTIONS AND HINTS BEFORE USING
- Use this product with rated voltage A.C. outlet only.
- Be sure to unplug the AC cord when the pan is not inserted or the cooker is not being used. Remember the keep warm function is operating whenever the AC cord is plugged in.
- Whenever the switch button cannot be depressed to the cook position, never try to force it down. Usually when the pan ls not inserted or when cooking has just finished this condition will exist.
- Always close the lid completely after each serving to prevent drying, discoloration or unpleasant odors of the cooked rice.
- Never leave the rice scoop or any other utensil in the pan when using the keep warm cycle.
- Do not use the keep warm feature to reheat previously cooked rice that has been cooled.
- Keep the surface between the bottom of the pan and the heater plate free from any foreign matter to prevent cooker malfunction.
- On the first use of the cooker, do not use the steam function.
HOW TO USE (Rice Cooking)
-
Measure the desired amount of rice with the measuring cup accessory supplied with this rice cooker. One _cup of uncooked rice will become about 3 cups of cooked rice.
-
Rinse the rice in a separate bowl several times until the water in the bowl shows relatively clear.
Note: Many suppliers of rice suggest not to rinse the rice so much before cooking because vitamins may be lost to some extent. -
Put the desired amount of rice and water into the pan.
For example If 3 cups of rice are put into the pan, then water should be poured until the water line reaches approximately the number “3” level of the scale stamped on the inside of the pan.
Helpful Hint One of the most important points to remember is the scale stamped on the inside of the pan is actually a good standard to follow. The amount of water is totally dependent on personal tastes. Of course, more water makes fluffy rice -less water makes firmer rice. -
Install the pan into the cooker. Make sure that the pan has direct contact with the heating plate by turning it slightly from right to left until it sits properly. lf the outside of the pan is wet or moist when placed into the cooker, this may cause a cracking noise while the unit heats up. Also this may cause damage to the inner workings of the product, so always wipe the outside of the pan completely before use.
-
Install the inner lid to the outer lid by pressing the inner lid over the inner lid shaft. After installing the inner lid, the smaller side of the inner lid seal should face you with the outer lid open. If the inner lid is inserted improperly, the outer lid will not close.
-
To close the outer lid, simply lower it until the lid latch engages with the lid catch with click. If the outer lid is not closed properly, the cooking efficiency will be badly affected.
-
Plug in the AC cord into a wall outlet. Do not plug the AC cord in until actual cooking wilt start. Any time this rice cooker is plugged in and the switch is not immediately set for cooking, the warming circuit is operating.
-
Press the switch button on and a click will be heard, The rice cooking light will turn on indicating the rice is starting to cook.
- If the pan is not placed into the cooker, the switch button cannot be set in the ON position.
- Never cover the lid with a cloth or anything else during cooking. Caution -Please note that the steam vent on top of the outer lid is very hot during cooking and steam will come out during the cooking cycle.
-
When the rice has finished cooking, the switch button will pop up and a click will be heard. At the same time the rice cooking light will go out and the keep warm light will go on, which means the keep warm feature is working. The switch button should not be pressed into the cook position during the keep warm cycle
-
When the switch button has turned off the rice cooking cycle and switched to the keep warm cycle, cooking actually continues by Steaming. Therefore, the lid should be kept closed for about 15 minutes after the cooking cycle ends. This is an important process to cook fluffy and tasty rice.
-
After it has been boiled and steamed properly, simply push the lid release button and open the outer lid. Do not forget to loosen the cooked rice with rice scoop.
- Keep Warm cycle will continue automatically, after the cook cycle, until the AC cord is removed from the wall outlet. So, in order to stop the keep warm feature, remove the AC cord.
- While serving, be careful to keep the flanged rim of the pan free of rice; if this isn’t done, the lid may not close property and the keep warm feature may not work properly.
HOW TO USE (Steaming)
- Put proper volume of water in the pan. The amount of water varies according to the food and quantity.
- Install the steaming plate into the pan and place foods on the plate.
- Install the pan into the cooker. Make sure that the pan has direct contact with the heating plate by turning it slightly from right to left until it sits properly.

Keep Warm Time
Keeping warm for more than 12 hours might cause discoloration of the cooked rice or the rice to take on an unpleasant odor. The sooner it is served, the better it will taste. -
Amount of rice to be “kept warm”
Be sure that the amount of rice to be kept warm is not too small. If the amount of rice to be kept warm is too small, it will gradually dry and the taste will be affected. It is then advisable to serve it as soon as possible. -
Cooker may be kept ON even during a meal.
For continuous keep warm feature, the cord should be kept plugged in even during a meal. If the power cord is unplugged during “keeping warm”, the temperature of the cooked rice drops.
