Locating the brackets
The position that you place the outermost brackets must be 5cm away from the end of the rail. Any additional brackets (supplied for wider blinds) can then be evenly distributed across the window space. Use a pencil to mark the window area where the brackets will be positioned.Ensure that the back of the bracket sits clear of any protruding items such as window handles or vents. This will allow the blind to hang correctly once installed.
Fitting the brackets
The brackets offer two methods of installation:
Use the single hole in the top of the bracket to fix to the lintel (the ‘ceiling’ of the recess).Use two screws through the back plate to mount onto a facing surface (a wall or window frame)
Fitting the blind
Situate the front lip of the headrail into the front hook of the bracket.Push the back of the headrail upwards to engage the metal clip at the back of the bracket.
Additional Information
If the blind appears too short when fitted, don’t worry, it can take some time for the pleats to settle and loosen up when the blind is new. Leave the blind lowered for 24 hours and you should find that it begins to settle quite quickly. If you want to help it along, you can simply pull the blind down to its fullest extent and brush your hand vigorously down the pleats from top to bottom. Do not attempt to adjust the cords.Cleaning the blind is easy; keep it free of dust using the brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner, and clean any marks or stains using a damp cloth or sponge. Do not soak the blind fabric as this can cause the pleats to lose their shape. To remove the blind from the brackets, insert a flat head screwdriver into the tab protruding from the bottom of the rail, then gently pry it back while tilting the back of the rail down- wards. Repeat this carefully for each bracket to release the rail. Please use both hands on the bottom bar to ensure the shade is raised and lowered in parallel. Failure to do so can cause the bottom bar to become uneven.
STEP 1: INSTALLING THE NO-DRILL BLINDS HEADRAIL
Hold the no-drill blinds headrail up against the top of the recess, then push
the lever firmly upwards until the rail snaps into place. If the rail is not
quite tight enough then this can be easily adjusted:
At the end of the rail opposite to the lever there is an adjustment block that
allows you to fine-tune the fitting of the rail. Use a flat-head screwdriver
to twist the small red plugs in toward the center of the rail. Slide the block
out of the rail by a few millimeters,
then twist the red plugs back into their original position to fix the block in
place. Make small adjustments only repeating as necessary for a tight
fit.
OPERATING YOUR SHADE:
CORDED SHADES
Your shade is operated by a lift cord and cord lock, which allows the shade to
stay in whatever position you desire.
For shades with valances and cords in front, move the cord to the middle of
the shade to release the cord lock and to the outside of the shade to engage
the cord lock and lock the shade in place. For shades without valances and
cords behind, move the cord to the outside or the shade to release and to the
middle of the shade to engage the cord lock and lock the shade in place.
After operating the shade always wrap the cord around the cord cleat to
prevent the cord becoming a strangulation hazard.
CORDLESS SHADES
Your shade has no lift cords on the front and the lift cords on the back are
operated by a spring system under the head rail.
When installing the shade, make sure that the cords run free of any obstruc-
tions or the installation brackets. Rubbing against a bracket or any
obstruction will cause the cords to fray and break over time.
Operate your shade by pulling down firmly on the handle or tassel. For wide
shades use both hands to make sure the shade is lowered evenly.
To raise the shade use both hands beneath the bottom of the shade and lift the
shade up manually. The spring system will hold the shade in place where you
release it, but the shade will not raise on its own.
TROUBLE-SHOOTING CORDLESS SHADES:
If the shade is not raising evenly, check that all the cords are not
obstructed and lower the shade fully.
Then raise with both hands. If this does not solve the problem, contact your
dealer.
If the shade does not stay at the desired position when released, contact your
dealer.
If a cord breaks or comes untied, contact your dealer
