Operation Controls and Functions

Transmitter Panel

Name Function Description
POWER LED The red LED is on when the Transmitter is powered on.
EDID DIP switch Used for audio EDID setting (dial to COPY by default). COPY:

Copy the EDID of the HDMI OUT port of the Receiver. STD: Default 1080P
2CH.
SERVICE| Firmware update port.
DC 24V| DC 24V/1A power input port. Note that the extender supports POC
function, it means that either the Transmitter or Receiver is connected
to 24V/1A power supply, the other doesn’t need a power supply.
HDBT OUT| RJ45 connector for connecting the HDBT IN port of the Receiver
with CAT5e/6 cable.

Product Usage Instructions

Step 1: Connecting the Transmitter and Receiver

  1. Connect one end of a CAT5e/6 cable to the HDBT OUT port of the  Transmitter.
  2. Connect the other end of the CAT5e/6 cable to the HDBT IN port of the Receiver.

Step 2: Connecting the HDMI Source and Display

  1. Connect an HDMI cable from your HDMI source (e.g. Blu-ray player, gaming console) to the HDMI IN port of the Transmitter.
  2. Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT port of the Receiver to your display device (e.g. TV, projector).

Step 3: Connecting IR Control

  1. Connect the IR Blaster cable to the IR OUT port of the Transmitter.
  2. Position the other end of the IR Blaster cable in front of your source device’s IR sensor.
  3. Connect the IR Wideband Receiver cable to the IR IN port of the Receiver.
  4. Position the other end of the IR Wideband Receiver cable in front of your display device’s IR sensor.

Step 4: Powering the Extender

  1. Connect the DC 24V/1A power adapter to the DC 24V port of either the Transmitter or the Receiver.
  2. If using the POC (Power over Cable) function, the other unit does not require a power supply.

Step 5: Audio Return Channel (ARC) Setup (Optional)

If you want to use the ARC function to transmit audio from your display device back to the Transmitter, follow these steps:

  1. Connect an HDMI cable from the ARC HDMI port on your display device to the ARC HDMI port on the Transmitter.
  2. Make sure that ARC is enabled in the settings of your display device.

    A: Yes, this extender is compatible with any HDMI source and display device that supports the specified video resolution and audio formats.

  • Q: What is the maximum transmission distance of this extender?

Introduction

This 18Gbps HDBaseT Extender can extend HDMI signal, bi-directional IR control signal, ARC signal and RS-232 control signal to a distance up to 70m / 230ft via a single CAT5e/6 cable. This product converts HDMI signal to standard HDBaseT sig-nal and transmits it through LAN cable. It can easily control signal source device or display device from the remote end through bi- directional IR signal pass-through function. Video resolution up to 4K2K@60Hz. It supports ARC and POC function. The extender can be widely used in other fields such as video conference system, multimedia signal broadcasting, HDMI signal extension, etc.

AUDIO DIP

| ▪ When the HDMI IN port is connected to a signal source device with ARC function (e.g. Amplifier or Soundbar), the ARC function of the Extender is enable:

Swicth to “HDMI ARC” : the audio returned from the HDMI OUT port of Receiver will be output through the HDMI IN port and SPDIF OUT port of the Transmitter.

Swicth to “SPDIF IN” : the audio returned from the SPDIF IN port of Receiver will be output through the HDMI IN port and SPDIF OUT port of the Transmitter.

▪ When the HDMI IN port is connected to a common signal source device, the ARC function of the Extender is disable, the audio from the SPDIF IN port of the Receiver will be output through the SPDIF

Note:

  • When the angle between the IR receiver and the remote control is ± 45 °, the transmission distance is 0-5 meters;
  • When the angle between the IR receiver and the remote control is ± 90 °, the transmission distance is 0-8 meters.
