Important safety instructions

To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, fire, or injury to persons, read and follow these safety instructions before using your ghd hot brush.
This ghd hot brush is for use only as a hairstyling aid, and only with products specifically designed for use with a heated hairstyling aid such as a ghd heat mat.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved, by a person responsible for their safety.
Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
BURN HAZARD: Keep appliance out of reach fromchildren, particularly during use and during cool down after use.
When the appliance is connected to a power supply never leave it unattended.
The ghd hot brush is not suitable for use with synthetic hair. It is possible that colour may permanently transfer onto the hot brush if used on dyed hair.
Warning: keep away from water
Do not use this device in a bathtub, shower, or water filled reservoir.

  1. When the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the appliance is switched off.
  2. For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA is advisable in the electric circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer, or a qualified electrician, for advice.
  3. Do not reach for the for the appliance if it has fallen into water.
  4. Do not spray or apply wet styling aids directly onto the ghd glide™.

Warning: electricity
As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts are electrically live even when the switch is off.
To reduce the risk of electrocution:
Never operate this appliance if it is not working properly, or if it has a damaged power cord or plug. If the power cord or plug is damaged, it must be replaced by Jemella Ltd.

  1. Only use with 220–240V, 50-60 Hz power supply.
  2. The appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in.
  3. Keep the power cord away from heated surfaces. Do not wrap the power cord around the appliance. Do not hang the ghd hot brush by the power cord.
  4. Always unplug the ghd hot brush immediately after using.
  5. Do not use an extension power cord with this appliance.
  6. Do not use a voltage inverter or generator with this appliance.
  7. Your ghd product is a class II electrical appliance and should not be connected to an earth connection.

Warning: hot surfaces
The ghd hot brush heater plate is hot for effective styling.
To reduce the risk of burns:

  1. NEVER touch the heated plate of the hot brush.
  2. When not styling always lay the ghd hot brush on a flat heat-resistant surface such as a ghd hot brush heat mat.
  3. When styling is complete, always switch off the ghd hot brush and unplug it from the power supply.
  4. Wait for the ghd hot brush to cool before storing.
  5. When the ghd hot brush has cooled, fold the power cord in the same way as it was first delivered in its packaging. Do not wind it around your hand or the body of the ghd hot brush as this can lead to early failure of the power cord.

Your ghd glide™ is not only attractive to you, but also to your children. Please ensure you always store your ghd hot brush out of reach of children, particularly during use, especially when cooling.

Operation

Glide Hot Brush - operation

  1. Heaterplate.

  2. On/0ff Switch and indicator light

  3. Povier cord

  4. loniser

  5. Plug your ghd hat brush into the povier supply. The switch sumound wilflash wihite forless than 1 second and beep toindcate tht it s now connected fo mains electriciy. The appliance is row in standby mode.

  6. To tum on the gf hot brush, press and hold the ONDFF button foat least 1 sccond. The gh hot brush wilplay shart start-up tune and a gt wil pulse o indicate that the hot bush is heating up.
    IMPORTANT: the gh hot brush heats up quickly, o don’t touch the hot heater britis! Once the ghd hot brush has reached perating temperature, it wil beep and the light wil remain iluminated to indcate tht tis ready touse.

  7. When you have finished your sying session, press and holdthe ON/OFF button for morethan 2 seconds to um the appliance off. A shutdown tune vil playto indicate the appliance has been turned off. Once urned off it i best practice: to unpug the appliance from the mains electicity and allow itto cooln a safe place. For sefe conlng place the appliance on a ghd heatresistant mat and alow 1o cool.

WARNING: while the appllance I cooling down do not touch the heated bristies or allow children or those with reduced physical, ‘sensory or mental capabllites, or lack of experlence and knowiedge to touch the appllance whilst tIs cooling.
the ghd glide™ has the following safety features:

  1. Sleep mode: the ghd hot brush has been lefton and has nat been sed for 60 minutes, a sfety feature wil automatically urn the hat brush off. The ot brush willplay the sleep mode tun, the plte vl start to cool and the: light wil sowy pulse il the plate reaches
    a safe temperature Torestartthe applance while in skeep mode, simply tum it on by pressing and holding down the ON/OFF buton for morethan 1 second.

User maintenance instructions

Cleaning your ghd gllde™

  1. Unplug the ghd hot brush from the mains power supply.
  2. Always allow the ghd hot brush to coolbefore attempting to clean it
  3. Never immerse the appliance in water
  4. Remove all hair from i betveen the bristes after every usage. Wipe clean any buid-up of syling products with a damp cloth or soft brush (do not scrub) from both bristles and heater plate.
  5. Do not use an abrasive cleaning fiid o clean, as damage willoccur

Storage

  1. Aways allow the ghd hot brush to cool down before storng away.
  2. Wihen the ghd appliance has cooled down, fod the pover cord n the same wayas itwas first defvered in s packaging. Donot wrap the supply cord around the ghd apliance as thiscan strin the cord and cause premature. ‘supply cord falure.

Failure to operate

Fyour product stops vorking and the re fult gt flashes, please folow the procedire below:

  1. Switch of the unit
  2. Unplug the unit from the plug socket
  3. Waitfor 5 secands and then plug the unit back ino the wall
  4. Switch the unit back on

If this occurs repeatedy, please contact your local ghd service centre.
For UK plugs, please ensure that th fitted fuse is intact and functioning; ifitis not, replace it ith an identicall rted Brfish Standard Fuse.

Manufacturer’s guarantee

All ghd electrical products are individually tested before leaving the factory.
However in the unlikely event of the product proving defective due to faulty workmanship or materials, then, at its sole discretion, ghd will replace the product at no charge with an identical or equivalent product within two years from the original date of purchase. A replacement product assumes the remaining guarantee of the original product or 180 days, whichever provides longer coverage for you. When a product is exchanged, any replacement item becomes your property and the replaced item becomes property of ghd.
