Product Information

The violin is a string instrument that consists of several
components:

  • Pegbox
  • Fingerboard
  • Scroll
  • Neck
  • Chinrest
  • Upper Bout
  • Bridge Fine Tuners
  • Tailpiece
  • Screw
  • Grip Pad-Winding
  • Waist
  • C-bouts
  • F-holes
  • Lower Bout
  • Tip Bow Stick
  • Bow Hair
  • Frog

Set the Bridge

The F-holes are two f-shaped holes found near the end of the
violin’s head. When you slide the bridge under the strings, make
sure it’s between the two F-holes. The bridge should be placed at
roughly the midway point of the F-holes.

Rosin Your Bow

Apply rosin to the bow hair before playing the violin. Rosin
helps create friction between the bow hair and the strings,
producing sound.

Attach the Shoulder Rest

To attach the shoulder rest, place the wider part onto the same
side as the chinrest. Make sure that the rim of the violin fits
nicely into the C shape of the feet on the rest. Slide one foot to
a 9 o’clock position and slide the other foot to the outside of the
violin, stopping around the 3 o’clock position.

Care and Maintenance of a Violin

Keep the violin in a place free of drafts and away from direct
sunlight. Avoid placing the violin case where it can get knocked
over or fall down when retrieving other items.

FAQ

1. Why does the sound of the violin change when using brand new

strings?

When using brand new strings, the sound may be unstable and the
tone may decrease or sound decentralized. This is normal and the
string tension and sound will gradually become more stable after
being adapted for about one week.

2. How can I improve the sound quality of my violin?

Playing your own violin more frequently can help with the
vibration of the violin plate, which will improve the sound quality
over time.

3. What should I do if the soundpost falls?

If the soundpost falls due to great fluctuations in humidity,
take the instrument to a repair person. The top and back of the
violin may swell when it is warm and humid, causing the soundpost
to become loose and fall.

4. Who should I contact if I have any other questions or

difficulties with using the violin?

If you have any other questions or difficulties, please contact
WITEK for assistance. They will be happy to answer your
questions.
