IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be
followed, including the following: Read all instructions before using (this
appliance). Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in
electric shock, fire or serious injury.
The precautions listed here are described under classification of Warnings and
Cautions, and are intended to prevent harm or damages to users and other
persons. All of these precautions are critical in terms of safety. Follow them
at all times.

Disassembly prohibited.
- Do not disassemble, repair, or modify. Doing so can cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
- Repair by persons other than trained repair technicians can be dangerous.
Product use.
- For household use only. Do not use for commercial properties. Do not use this product for anything other than its intended use. Doing So could cause the product to malfunction or cause fire.
- Do not block air flow in or out. This may cause the product to overheat and cause a fire.
- Do not use the product near radio or televisions. Doing so may interfere with radio or television signals.
- Do not use in places exposed to direct sunlight or near heating devices. Doing so may cause deformation, discoloration, or product malfunctions.
- Use on a level stable surface. Placing the product on uneven or unstable surfaces can cause the product to fall over, leading to injury or damage to property in the vicinity of the product.
- Please dispose of product and packaging materials according to proper government regulations.
- Ensure there is proper ventilation when using near combustion appliances. Improper ventilation could contribute to carbon monoxide poisoning. This product does not remove harmful substances such s carbon monoxide.
Unplug.
- This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, please reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. Do not change the plug in any way.
- Always grasp the power plug to unplug it, do not unplug it by pulling on the power cord. Pulling on the power cord can damage it, which can cause fire or electric shock.
- Always unplug the power plug from the electric socket when the product will be unused for extended periods of time. Failing to do so can lead to fire or electric shock caused by short-circuits due to reduced insulation.
- Unplug the power plug from the electrical outlet before inspecting, performing maintenance on, or moving the unit.
Do not use the product outdoors.
- Do not use in the vicinity of objects that obstruct the flow of air.
- Do not operate while covered or blocked with cloth, paper, or plastic bags, etc.
- Do not use in locations where there is a lot of dirt or dust. This can cause short-circuit or fire.
- Do not use in or near environments filled with sooty air. Doing so may cause a fire.
Use power plugs and power cords correctly.
- Failure to do so can cause fire or electric shock due to short-circuits.
- Insert the power plug securely all the way into the electric socket.
- Regularly inspect the power plug and clean off any accumulated dust.
- When dust is allowed to build up, insulation is hampered due to moisture, which can cause fire or electric shock.
- Use only 120V~ Other current/voltage can cause fires.
- Do not use if the power cord o the power plug is damaged, or if the power plug is loose when plugged into the electric socket. Doing so can cause fire or electric shock due to short-circuit.
Do not damage the power cord.
- Damaging, modifying, forcefully bending, pulling, twisting, putting heavy obects on, or pinching the power cord could cause damage, which can cause fire or electric shock.
- Do not use if the power cord is bundied up. Doing so can cause fires. Always extend the cord out before using.
- Donot pull on the power cord when carrying or storing the product. Pulling on the power cord can cause fire or electric shock.
Abnormalities and malfunctions can cause smoke, fire, or electric shock.
Stop use immediately, cut power, and unplug the unit from the electric socket
when abnormalities or malfunctions oceur.
Examples of Abnormalities
- Abnormal sounds or odors.
- Power plug or power cord becoming abnormally ot Loss of power, etc. when power cord is moved.
- The product periodically stops during operation.
- Tingling sensation from electric current felt when the product is touched.

Avoid fire hazards.
- Do not spray with insecticides, hair sprays, or lubrication oils, etc.
- Do not use near flammable substances (kerosene, gasoline, paint thinner, etc.), objects that have flames (cigarettes, incense, etc.) or combustible materials. Can cause fires.
- Do not use the product near open flames or a combustible appliance such as a heater. Doing so can cause incomplete combustion or scatter flames, which can cause carbon monoxide poisoning and fire.
- Do not operate the product around fumigation or insecticides. This may cause the hazardous fumes to accumulate in the filters and be discharged during later operation, which could lead to damaged health. If used around fumigation or insecticides, do not operate until the product has been sufficiently ventilated.
Wet hands prohibited.
- Do not unplug the power plug when hands are wet.
If handled incorrectly, contents can lead to personal injury or physical damage.
- Keep out of reach of children and infants.
- Do not climb on or tip the product over. Doing so may lead to injury or electric shock.
- Do not put fingers, metal, or other objects into the Air outlet or air entry ports. This may cause damage or electric shock.
- Make sure to hold the handles while moving the product. Do not drag the product when moving it. Dragging the product can damage carpet and floors.
- Do not strike the unit forcefully. Doing so can cause the product to malfunction, leading to fire or electric shock.
- Airflow from this unit is very strong; do not point the air directly at your body.
- Exercise caution when using this product around children and the elderly. This product can pose a hazard to those who do not take the proper precautions.
- Air blowing directly on plants may be harmful.
- Do not operate while the vane or the cover are detached. Doing so can cause injury, electric shock, o fire.
Placement.
- When placing the unit, please observe the minimum required distances s illustrated in the image on page 3. Do not place the product near heating or cooling devices. Place the product in areas with good ventilation and air circulation.
- Do not use the product outdoors.
- Do not use in rooms with high humidity levels such as bathrooms.
- Do not get the unit wet, or put the unit in water. Getting the product wet can cause fire or electric shock.
- Do not use in narrow spaces such as in closets or in gaps between furniture. This may cause fire due to overheating.
- Do not hold the product by the fan. Doing so may cause fire or electric shock
- Do not use product in areas where food, pharmaceuticals, artwork, valuable documents, or other special items are stored. Doing so may lead to degradation of the stored items.
- Place the unit in a well-ventilated area. Avoid placing it near air conditioners or heaters.
- Place the product at least 11.81 in/30 cm away from walls or furniture and at least 23.62 in/60 cm away from the ceiling.
- Recommended indoor temperature is 32~95 °F/0~35 °C.
- Do not use the product in environments with temperatures far outside of the recommended range or environments where moisture condensation may occur.
- Put plants in places where they are not exposed to the wind from the Air outlet.
- Walls surrounding the product may become dirty. Clean the walls if the product is used for a long period of time.

PREPARATION
Installing the Dust and odor filter
Before inserting the plug into the power outlet, first remove the Dust and
odor
filter from its bag and install it
-
Remove the Back cover.
• Holding both sides of the top of the Back cover, pull it towards you and the entire cover will come off. -
Remove the Dust and odor filter from its packaging.
• The Dust and odor filter included with this unit comes wrapped in a plastic film. Remove the filter from the main unit, take off the packaging, and reinstall it. -
Installing the Dust and odor filter in the main unit.
• Place the Dust and odor filter so that s tag is visible and facing you, and push it in to the central area inside the main unit until it fits firmly into place. -
Install the Back cover.
1. Fill in the filter’s installation date on the provided label. This label can be found at the bottom of the back cover.
2. Insert the two claws on the bottom of the Back cover into the holes on the bottom of the main unit, and hook them into place.
3. Insert and install so that the claws on the top fit securely into place.
- If the Back cover s not installed correctly, the power will not turn on
Setting up
- Refer to «important safeguards» (see page 3), make sure there is enough distance between the unit and anything else in the vicinity, and setup in a level, stable location.
- Insert the plug into the power outlet.
• The Power OFF/ON button light will turn red.
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
-
Power OFF/ON.
• When powered on, the Power button light will change to white, and the unit will run on the same settings as the previous session.
• The amount of pollutants in the air, as measured by a built-in sensor, will be shown on the Air quality display 30 seconds after the unit has been switched on. When the unit is in Sleep mode, this will not be shown.
• When the unit is switched on in Auto mode, the Air volume will run at 1 for the first 30 seconds. -
Select the operation mode.
Selecting using the Mode button
• Pressing the Mode button will switch the unit’s Air volume mode in the following order. • After unplugging the power cord or after a power outage, the unit will be set to Auto mode the next time it is turned on.
Auto mode
- When the unit is in Auto mode, Air volume will be adjusted according to the amount of pollutants in the air, as measured by a built-in sensor.
Sleep mode
- When the unit is in Sleep mode, it will run even quieter than when the Air volume is at 1, and all indicators and buttons other than the Sleep mode indicator will be switched off.
Turbo mode
- When the unit s in Turbo mode, it will run even more powerfully than when the Air volume is at 5, and the Air volume indicator will be switched off.
Selecting Air volume manually
- To switch the unit to Manual mode, press the air volume button during operation.
- Do not press and hold the button for a long time. Pressing and holding for longer than 2 seconds will reset the internal Change Filter timer.
- Pressing the Air volume button will switch the unit’s Air volume in the following order.
To stop the operation
Press the Power OFF/ON button
- The unit will switch off, the Power ON/OFF indicator light will turn red, and all other indicator lights will go out.
Air quality indicator
-
The color will change according to the amount of pollutants in the air, as measured by a built-in sensor.
Blue: Clean (Low Pollutants)
Green: Fair (Moderate Pollutants)
Red: Poor (High Pollutants) -
When the numbers on the Air quality display go up or down, it changes the timing at which the color will change. It is possible for the color to vary even with the same number.
Dimmer mode
- Pressing and holding the Air volume button and the Mode button simultaneously for 2 seconds will dim the control panel. Extinguish the lights whenever you feel it is too bright, such as when resting.
- Pressing and holding the Air volume button and the Mode button simultaneously again for 2 seconds will restore the display brightness to its original level.
- If the Air volume button and Mode button are not pressed simultaneously, not only will this cause the Air volume and the mode to switch accidentally, the time at which the Change filter indicator lights up will get reset, and child lock will be activated.
When the Change filter indicator lights up
- The Change filter indicator willight up to let you know when it s time to change the filter.
- Purchase Dust and odor falters, which are sold separately (see page 12), and change filters according to the procedures described in “Preparation” (see page 6).
- After changing filters, press and hold the Air volume button for 2 seconds to reset the Change filter indicator. The Change filter indicator will switch off.
- The time at which the Change filter indicator lights up varies depending on the frequency of use. If used in a standard environment, it will ight up after about a year and a half
- Depending on the environment in which it is being used, the Dust and odor filter might start having difficulty trapping odors and smoke even before the Change filter indicator lights up. If this happens, change the Dust and odor filter regardless of whether or not the Change filter indicator is lit up.
Child lock
- You can enable the unit’s Child lock in order to prevent any unwanted changes to the settings, e.g. children pushing buttons.
- Pressing and holding the Mode button for 2 seconds while the unit is switched on will light up the indicator and activate the Child lock.
- When the child lock is activated, no other operations can be done except for deactivating the child lock. Pressing a button which cannot be operated will cause the child lock indicator to flash.
- Pressing and holding the Mode button again for 2 seconds will deactivate the child lock and once again make it possible to perform other operations as usual.
ABOUT OTHER ITEMS SOLD SEPARATELY
Dust and odor filter (Model: APF-28F)
- If you have questions about replacement Dust and odor falters, contact either the store where you purchased the unit or IRIS USA, Inc. customer service.
- When disposing of old Dust and odor filters, do 5o in accordance with local government rules and regulations.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Turn off the unit and disconnect from power before conducting cleaning and maintenance.
- Do not use detergents, thinner, benzine, bleaching agents, etc.
- Cleaning and maintenance should be done once a month.
Main unit
-
If dustand dirt accumulate in the Air intake, output power could be reduced. In addition, if dust or dirt get into the Air outlet, it could further pollute the air or cause malfunction.
Use a vacuum cleaner to suck up and remove any dust or dirt -
For other parts, use a soft cloth to wipe away any dust or dirt.
Dust and odor filter
- There are prefilter installed on the outside of the Dust and odor filters. Use a vacuum cleaner to suck up and remove any dust or dirt that is stuck to a prefilter.
- Do not wash Dust and odor filters with water.
- Do not press on filters forcefully.
• Doing either of these things could damage the filter and reduce its effectiveness.
Sensor

Open the sensor cover on the back of the unit.
• Putyour finger on the indent in the cover and pull it towards you. -
Wipe off the sensor lens using a cotton swab.
-
Close the sensor cover.
• Press in until it fits firmly into place.
• If the sensor becomes dirty, the air purifier could malfunction and ‘Auto mode might not work properly.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If the following problems occurred during use, before requesting any repairs read the operation manual carefully and check to see if there is any of the following.

Before the Change filter indicator lights up, odors and smoke are not being
removed| The indoor air pollution is higher than an average indoor
environment.| Regardless of the change filter indicator, change the filter as
soon as possible.
The product is vibrating| The product is placed on an unstable surface.| Place
it on a flat and stable surface.
Display does not light up Air quality indicator does not light up| The unit is
set to Sleep mode.| When the unit is in Sleep mode, the air quality indicator
is extinguished, and only “Sleep” will be illuminated on the display. (see
page 9)
Dimmer mode is on.| Pressing and holding the Air volume button and the Mode
button simultaneously for 2 seconds will activate/deactivate dimmer mode. (see
page 10)
Air volume indicator does not light up| The unit is switched on in Sleep mode
or in Turbo mode.| When the unit is in Sleep mode or in Turbo mode, the Air
volume indicator will not light up.
Nothing happens when buttons are pressed and the Child lock indicator is
flashing| This will light up when the child lock is engaged.| Pressing and
holding the Mode button for 2 seconds will activate/deactivate the child lock.

If the problem persists, contact IRIS USA, Inc. customer service department or
a qualiied professional.
Warning: Do not disassemble, repair or modify the product yourself. Any
other servicing should be performed by any authorized service representative.

IRIS USA, Inc. products are to be free from defects in material and
workmanship under normal non-commercial, household use, when operated and
cared for in accordance with the Manufacturer’s written instructions provided.
THE 1-YEAR WARRANTY (“WARRANTY”) DOES NOT COVER
Any damage caused by accident, misuse, or abuse, including without imitation,
damage caused by use in a humid area, improper cleaning, neglect, alteration,
fie, theft, non-recommended temperature use and does not apply to minor
imperfections, scratches, stains, discoloration, surface markings as a result
of shipping or other damage to external or internal surfaces which does not
impair the utiity and/or functionality of the product.
TO OBTAIN SERVICE
If service should be necessary, you should contact IRIS USA, Inc. Customer
Service (Customer Service”) at
1-800-320-4747.
You may then return the properly packaged product(s), (using adequate packing
and shipping material to prevent damage in transit), with postage prepaid
along with name, address, telephone number, model number, and proof of date of
purchase (a copy of the receipt) and a detailed description of the claimed
defect. This warranty shall not cover any damage incurred to the products
during transit to Customer Service. You shall have the obligation and
responsibility to: pay for all services and parts not covered by the warranty.
MANUFACTURER’S OBLIGATION
The Warranty may not be altered, expanded, extended, revised or varied except
by written instrument executed by the Manufacturer.
THE MANUFACTURER’S LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO THE REPAIR OR
REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT(S) AT THE MANUFACTURER’S SOLE AND

CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, WHETHER DIRECT OR INDIRECT. THE WARRANTIES SET FORTH
HEREIN ARE EXCLUSIVE AND NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING

DISCONTINUED ITEM RETURNED
If the item returned is discontinued and is no longer available, IRIS USA,
