How to link the kids watch with an admin:

Admins can use  HUAWEI FamCare  to link and manage the kids watch.

• Admins need to download the latest version of  HUAWEI FamCare  on their phone, which can be found by checking Downloading and updating the HUAWEI FamCare app.
• Admins are classified as either the main admin or normal admins. The first admin linked to the kids watch is the main admin and other admins linked to the kids watch are normal admins.

Parents use their HUAWEI ID to link and manage the kids watch.

The parent logs in using their HUAWEI ID.****

Open  HUAWEI FamCare , and log in using the parent’s HUAWEI ID. (If they do not have a HUAWEI ID yet, follow the onscreen instructions to register one. If the parent is using a HUAWEI phone and has logged in to their HUAWEI ID, they can automatically log in to  HUAWEI FamCare.)

If the registered user of the HUAWEI ID used to log in to  HUAWEI FamCare is below 18, you will not be able to register a child HUAWEI ID for the kids watch. If this is the case, you can:

• Log out and log in to  HUAWEI FamCare  using an adult’s HUAWEI ID, and register a child account for the watch.
• Deregister the current HUAWEI ID linked with your phone number, use the phone number to register a new HUAWEI ID (18 years old or above), log in to  HUAWEI FamCare  using the new HUAWEI ID, and then register a child account for the watch.

Start pairing.****

1. Scanning the QR code on the kids watch.Insert a SIM card into the kids watch, power it on for the first time, and agree to the required permissions. A QR code will then be displayed on the screen of the watch.

   • The registration locations of admin HUAWEI IDs and child HUAWEI ID for the kids watch and the country/region set on the kids watch must be the same.
   • Make sure that the call, SMS, mobile data, and caller ID display services have been activated for the SIM card in the kids watch.
   • It is recommended that you scan the QR code in an open area for a strong signal, such as near an open window or on a balcony. Keep the kids watch still and adjust the angle and distance between the phone and watch while scanning the QR code.
   • If  HUAWEI FamCare  has been linked with the kids watch, touch  +**  in the upper right corner, and touch  SCAN CODE**  to link the kids watch with the app.

2. Open  HUAWEI FamCare , go to  LINK WATCH > SCAN CODE, and scan the QR code displayed on the watch.

3. Register a HUAWEI ID for the kids watch and log in.The HUAWEI ID of the kids watch is required for using features such as chatting with families or friends, data backup, and data migration. Make sure that the HUAWEI ID of the kids watch and those of admins are different.

   • If the phone number of the kids watch has not been used to register a HUAWEI ID, touch  CREATE NEW CHILD ACCOUNT  and follow the onscreen instructions to finish registering. The kids watch will then automatically log in to the account after registration is successful.
   • If the phone number of the kids watch has been used to register a HUAWEI ID, touch  USE CURRENT WATCH ACCOUNT  and follow the onscreen instructions to log in.If the kids watch detects that the phone number has been used to register an account that is not a child HUAWEI ID, it is recommended that you change it to a child HUAWEI ID to access content suitable for your child.

If an admin’s HUAWEI ID is linked with a child HUAWEI ID or kids watch:****

  * Select the account that was used to log in to another kids watch to log in to the new kids watch. Doing so will log you out of the current kids watch. Touch  **SWITCH**  and enter your child HUAWEI ID and password to log in.
  * Select a child account that was not used to log in to another kids watch, follow the onscreen instructions in  **HUAWEI FamCare** , and enter the child HUAWEI ID and password to log in.If you have permission to manage the selected child account, you can simply select the child account and permit login without a password. Otherwise, you will need to enter the account and password to log in to the kids watch.

4. Use  HUAWEI FamCare  to scan the QR code on the screen of the kids watch, touch  USE CURRENT WATCH ACCOUNT , and log in to the HUAWEI ID registered using the phone number of the kids watch. You can also touch  SWITCH ACCOUNTS  to log in.  HUAWEI FamCare  will then automatically display the linked child HUAWEI ID and kids watch.

5. Use  HUAWEI FamCare  to scan the QR code on the kids watch screen for the system to automatically identify the phone number of the watch.

6. If an admin’s HUAWEI ID is not linked with any child HUAWEI IDs or kids watches:****

7. Set the watch information.After you log in to the kids watch using the child HUAWEI ID, the kids watch will be linked with your phone. The linking process takes approximately 30 seconds, and this may vary depending on the network conditions of the kids watch and your phone.If linking fails, follow the onscreen instructions.

8. • A kids watch can be linked to only one main admin via  HUAWEI FamCare. Remember the account used for linking and always use the account to log in. If you want to use a new account, unlink the kids watch from the account via  HUAWEI FamCare , and then use a new account to link with the kids watch again.
   • The main admin can edit the relationship between an admin and the child and delete an admin on the admin’s personal information screen. A normal admin cannot invite a new admin.

9. Once successfully linked, complete the information about the user and admin of the watch.

Linking a normal admin

Method 1:****

1. (Main admin) Open  HUAWEI FamCare , touch  Devices  in the lower right corner of the home screen, touch  Admins > New admin. Enter a new admin’s relationship with the child and phone number, touch  in the upper right corner, and confirm that an SMS message needs to be sent to the new admin.
2. (New admin) Follow the instructions in the SMS message when invited to download and install  HUAWEI FamCare , register a HUAWEI ID using the entered phone number, log in to  HUAWEI FamCare , go to  + > I RECEIVED AN INVITATION, and follow the onscreen instructions to finish verification. The kids watch will be linked once the verification is successful.
3. Once successfully linked, the new admin’s name and phone number will be automatically saved to  Contacts****  on the kids watch.

Method 2:****

1. Press the HOME button or button or swipe left when on the home screen of the kids watch to enter the app list, and touch  QR code. A QR code will then be displayed on the kids watch screen.
2. (New normal admin) Download and install  HUAWEI FamCare  on their phone. Then, log in to  HUAWEI FamCare  using their HUAWEI ID, and touch  SCAN CODE. After scanning the QR code, configure the relationship with the child.If the normal admin account to be linked has been linked with another watch, open  HUAWEI FamCare , and touch  +****  in the upper right corner of the home screen to enter the scanning the QR code screen.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions to send a link request. The  HUAWEI FamCare  home screen is displayed.
4. (Main admin) Open  HUAWEI FamCare , and you will be prompted with a normal admin add request. Touch  Agree , or open  HUAWEI FamCare , and go to  Communication > Notifications > Agree in the lower part of the home screen. The normal admin is then linked.

Manage contacts

Admins can use the HUAWEI FamCare app to manage the contacts of the kids watch. Admins are classified into the main admin and normal admins. The first admin linked to the kids watch is the main admin and other admins linked to the kids watch are normal admins. Each kids watch can be linked to only one main admin and a maximum of nine normal admins.

• Main admin’s permissions**** : Use the HUAWEI FamCare app to invite new admins, adjust the order of normal admins, transfer the main admin’s permissions, remove normal admins, add contacts, edit contacts, and delete contacts.
• Normal admins’ permissions**** : Use the HUAWEI FamCare app to add, edit, and delete contacts.

Inviting admins

The main admin can invite family members such as grandparents to be admins to interact with the child, such as giving rewards and answering emergency calls.

1. (Main admin) Open the HUAWEI FamCare app, touch  in the upper right corner of the home screen, go to  Admin > New admin, enter a new admin’s relationship with the child and phone number, and touch  Invite  in the upper right corner.
2. (New admin) Follow the onscreen instructions in the SMS message when invited to download and install the HUAWEI FamCare app, register a HUAWEI ID using the entered phone number, log in to the HUAWEI FamCare app, touch  I received an invitation , and follow the onscreen instructions to finish verification. The kids watch will be linked once the verification is successful.
3. The new admin’s name and phone number will be automatically saved to  Contacts  on the kids watch.

• The main admin can touch  Sort  in the  Admin  list to adjust the order of normal admins and can touch and hold a normal admin and select  Transfer permissions  to transfer the main admin’s permissions to the normal admin.
• The main admin can select a normal admin from the  Admin  list to access the personal information screen and edit the relationship between the normal admin and child.

Removing admins

(Main admin) Open the HUAWEI FamCare app, touch  in the upper right corner of the home screen, touch  Admin , touch and hold the admin you want to remove, and select  Remove.

Adding contacts

• (Admin) Open the HUAWEI FamCare app, touch  in the upper right corner, go to  Contacts > Add, enter the kids watch’s name and phone number, touch the profile icon to take a photo, use a preinstalled photo, or use a photo from Gallery as the profile picture, and touch the Check icon in the upper right corner to save the settings.
• Swipe on the home screen of the kids watch, go to  Phone  >  Add , enter a name and phone number, and touch  Save.
• A maximum of 200 contacts can be added on the kids watch.
• Contacts can make calls with the child but do not have other management permissions.
• Fixed-line phone numbers, numbers of family members, group numbers, or foreign phone numbers can be added to the child’s contacts on the kids watch and two-way calls can be made between these contacts and the child. Quick numbers corresponding to numbers of family members or group numbers need to be added to contact remarks. You need to add an area code before a fixed-line phone number and add a country/region code before a phone number of another country/region (for example, “+86” for China).

Deleting contacts

Method 1: To delete a contact from the contact list in the HUAWEI FamCare app, touch and hold the contact you want to delete and touch  Delete.

Method 2: To delete multiple contacts from the contact list in the HUAWEI FamCare app, touch  Manage  in the lower right corner, select contacts you want to delete, and touch  Delete.

Editing contacts

(Admin) Open the HUAWEI FamCare app, touch  in the upper right corner of the home screen, touch  Contacts , select a contact, touch  Edit  to edit information about the contact (including the profile picture, remarks, phone number, and quick number).

• The main admin can only modify a normal admin’s nickname and cannot modify other information.
• Both the main admin and normal admins can modify information about contacts.

Use Class Time

Setting the Class Time feature:

1. (Admin) Open the HUAWEI FamCare app, touch  in the upper corner of the home screen, and go to  Class Time > Add.
2. Swipe up or down to set the start time, end time, and repetition period, and touch the Check icon in the upper right corner to save the settings.

The kids watch will not receive incoming calls when  Class Time  takes effect, thereby preventing the child from being distracted, and will only vibrate and will not ring when receiving messages. The child can only use the kids watch to view the time, call admins, and make emergency calls. Admins can locate the child and initiate listening.

Deleting the periods for Class Time to take effect****

• Android phones:**** Touch and hold a period for Class Time and delete it.
• iOS phones:**** Swipe on a period for Class Time and delete it.
• A maximum of 10 periods can be set for the Class Time feature on certain kids watches.
• After the switch for  Work days (skip holidays)  is turned on, the repetition period will be changed to Monday to Friday by default.
• After the switch for  Work days (skip holidays)  is turned on, the periods for Class Time will not take effect on official holidays. (Official holidays refer to national holidays. The Class Time feature will still take effect on non-official holidays such as Children’s Day on June 1.)

Restore to factory settings

Restoring the kids watch to its factory settings:

The kids watch is not linked with a phone

Press the Home button when on the home screen of the kids watch to enter the Settings  screen, touch  Advanced settings , enter the default password, and go to  Restore to factory settings > OK.

The default password is 0000. If you are using a HUAWEI KidWatch 3, the password is not required.

The kids watch is linked with a phone

When the kids watch is powered on and connected to the Internet, the main admin can use the HUAWEI FamCare app to restore the watch to its factory settings.

Open the HUAWEI FamCare app, touch  in the upper right corner of the home screen, and go to  Settings > Reset watch.

Restoring the kids watch to its factory settings will clear call logs, chat records, messages, photos, and other data from the watch. Please exercise caution when performing this operation. To manage the kids watch again, you will need to scan the QR code of the watch again. Data such as contacts and alarms is stored over the cloud. After the kids watch is linked to the HUAWEI FamCare app again, data will be synced from the cloud to the watch.

Block strangers

(Admin) Open the HUAWEI FamCare app, touch   in the upper right corner of the home screen, touch Block strangers, and turn on the switch for this feature.

• The switch for Block strangers is turned on by default.

• If the caller ID service is not activated for the phone card of the kids watch, enabling Block strangers will result in all incoming calls being regarded as unknown calls and calls from admins will not be able to be answered.

• For multi-SIM card users, add the account linked to the secondary card as a contact (not an admin). For familiarity number users, add quick numbers corresponding to familiarity numbers to Contacts.

Lost my watch

Using your phone to find the watch:

Ringing the bell to find the watch

1. (Admin) Open the HUAWEI FamCare app, touch   in the right corner of the home screen, and go to Find watch > Ring the bell to find the watch.
2. The kids watch will then sound “I’m here”.
3. After the watch has been found, touch   to turn off the sound.

• The kids watch will play the sound even if it is in Class time or Vibrate mode.
• This feature is supported when the kids watch is powered on and linked to the HUAWEI FamCare app. This feature can also be used on your phone remotely.

Reporting that the watch has been lost

Open the HUAWEI FamCare app, touch   in the right corner of the home screen, and go to Find watch > Report as lost.

• After you report that the kids watch has been lost, the watch will be locked and can only be used to contact the main admin.
• To cancel the report of the watch being lost, an admin can open the HUAWEI FamCare app, touch   in the upper right corner of the home screen, and then go to Find watch > Cancel Missing Claim

Unable to make video calls

[HUAWEI] The kids watch can’t make video calls:

Only video calls with watch admins and friends are supported.

If this issue occurs, perform the following steps for troubleshooting:

• Update the kids watch and the HUAWEI FamCare app to their latest versions.
• Use a  standard SIM card  that does not have a negative balance and has data service and SMS activated, to make sure that the network is normal. (The virtual carrier card, IoT card, and secondary card of the Multi-SIM service are not supported.)
• Ensure that the number of the SIM card inserted into the watch is the same as that used to log in to the HUAWEI ID on the watch.

To view the SIM card number and HUAWEI ID for the watch, the main admin can open the HUAWEI FamCare app, touch Devices, touch the connected watch, and touch Phone number/HUAWEI ID (watch).

• After you finish linking the watch and initiate a video call, if a message is displayed indicating that the  video call service is being configured and you should try again later :
  1. Wait for five minutes and try again.
  2. If the issue persists, make a video call using the HUAWEI FamCare app. If this succeeds, make a video call on your watch again.
  3. If the video call still fails, restart your watch and try again.
  4. If this issue persists, contact the Huawei customer service hotline for further assistance.

Call interrupted

[HUAWEI] The kids watch can’t make video calls:

Only video calls with watch admins and friends are supported.

If this issue occurs, perform the following steps for troubleshooting:

  4. If this issue persists, contact the Huawei customer service hotline for further assistance.
