No display

Nothing is displayed when the monitor is connected to a computer, phone, or tablet:

Problem
Nothing is displayed when the monitor is powered on and connected to a computer, phone, or tablet.

Cause
This issue may be caused by the computer status and cable connection. Refer to the following possible reasons:

1. The computer, phone, or tablet is not powered on or is in hibernation mode.

2. The original signal cable is not used, or the signal cable (DP/HDMI/USB-C) of the monitor or the connected device is not connected properly.

3. The device connected to the monitor is not working properly.

4. The USB-C port on certain devices does not support displaying images.

5. A USB-C to USB-A cable that does not support projection is used for projection.

Solution
Step 1: Make sure that the device connected to the monitor is working properly.

Step 2: Use the standard signal cable (DP/USB-C) of the monitor and ensure that the cable is inserted properly. If a non-standard signal cable is used, ensure that the cable works properly on other devices.

Step 3: Connect the device to another monitor and check whether the display is normal.

Step 4: Contact the device vendor to check whether the USB-C port supports projection if the monitor cannot display only when connected to a device using a USB-C port.

Step 5: Use the standard USB-C to USB-C or DP cable if you want to use a USB-C port on the monitor for projection. The USB-C to USB-A cable does not support projection. If you need to use an HDMI cable, you are advised to use an HDMI 2.0 cable or a later version.

If the issue persists, call the customer service hotline or arrange a door-to- door servic

Incomplete or blurry display

Sound is not played from the monitor after the monitor is connected to a host:

Problem

When the monitor is connected to a host (a laptop or desktop), sound is not played from the monitor.

Cause

After the monitor is connected to a host (a laptop or desktop), the MateView audio device will be added to the host. If you want the monitor to play sound, select the monitor as the playback device.

Solution

Step 1:  Check whether the cables for audio and video transmission are properly connected to the USB-C, HDMI, and DP ports. If not, reconnect the cables.

Step 2:  Check whether the system settings for audio output are set correctly.

Method 1: After the monitor is connected to a host (a laptop or desktop), click   in the lower right corner of the home screen. The MateView audio device will be added to the host, as shown in the following figure. Select it as the playback device.

Method 2: After the monitor is connected to a host (a laptop or desktop), right-click   in the lower right corner of the home screen, select Open Sound settings to enter the Sound settings screen, and select MateView under Choose your output device.

Step 3:  After the monitor is connected to a host (a laptop or desktop), the host will detect the MateView audio device. Check whether the graphics card driver of the host system is correctly installed. To update the driver, perform the following:

Method 1:  Right-click the Windows icon in the lower left corner, click Device Manager, and check whether the graphics card drivers under Display adapters and sound and video drivers under Sound, video and game controllers are displayed.

Method 2:  If you cannot find the related devices, or Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is displayed, reinstall the graphics card drivers.

1. Click the Windows icon and go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.

2. Visit the official website of the host’s manufacturer or contact the after-sales service personnel of the host to obtain the latest installation program for the graphics card driver of the host operating system. Double- click the program to install the driver.

3. Update the graphics card driver using third-party driver management software.

(Note:  If the operating system is Windows 10, perform steps 1, 2, and 3. If the operating system is Windows 7, only perform steps 1 and 2.)

Step 4:  Check whether the HDMI or DP port supports audio and video transmission and whether a DVI/VGA-to-HDMI/DP port is being used. These ports only support video transmission and do not support audio transmission.

Step 5:  Connect the monitor to another device (such as a computer, phone, or tablet) and check whether audio can be output properly. If so, it indicates that the issue is caused by the host.

If the issue persists, call the Huawei customer service hotline.

Start Your Journey with HUAWEI Monitor

Setting up the monitor
  1. Unpack the cardboard box and place the box horizontally with the arrow on the foam facing upward. Take the device and foam out of the box and place them horizontally. Take the base support out of the foam.

For the ZQE-CBA monitor, you also need to connect the base and support with screws.

  1. Tilt and insert the upper end of the base support into the slot at the rear of the monitor, then press the base support downwards until you hear a clicking sound, which indicates that the base support has been set up correctly.
  2. Hold the assembled monitor with both hands and place it on a flat desk. To avoid damaging the screen, do not press the screen when holding it.
Removing the monitor from the base support

Place the monitor facing downward on the curved foam in the original package, push the quick release button on the rear of the monitor upward, and lift the base support from the monitor.

Before installing the base support, ensure that there are no objects made of iron attached to the support at the rear of the monitor, otherwise a short circuit may occur.

Connect your monitor to another device

Connecting the monitor to a device such as a computer:

  • The device does not come with certain components and cables and you need to purchase them separately.
  • Standard cables vary depending on the monitor model.

Open the protective cover on the bottom part of the monitor rear to view the ports. You can connect the monitor to a device such as a computer based on the cable type.

  • You will see a monitor nameplate attached under the ports and information such as S/N on the nameplate.
  • After the cables are connected, we recommended that you arrange the cables and reinstall the protective cover to prevent dust from entering the ports.
  • You can adjust the tilting angle and height of the monitor as required.
DP or HDMI cable connection
  1. Connect one end of a DP or HDMI cable to the DP or HDMI port on the monitor, and connect the other end to the DP or HDMI port on a computer.

If you want to use the microphone of the ZQE-CAA monitor, you also need a USB-C to USB-A cable to connect the monitor to the computer.

  1. Connect other cables such as power cables for the monitor and computer and then power on the monitor and computer. If the monitor screen is turned on, it indicates that the connection is successful.
USB-C to USB-C cable connection
  • This connection only applies to ZQE-CAA monitors.
  • It is recommended that you use the USB-C to USB-C cable delivered with the monitor. If a non-standard cable is used, some features may be unavailable.
  • The USB-C port of an external device must be a port that supports display, data transmission, and charging.
  • This connection supports charging connected devices, such as laptops or phones.

Connecting to a computer

  1. Connect one end of a USB-C to USB-C cable to the USB-C port on the monitor and the other end to the USB-C port on a computer.

In this connection, you can use the microphone of the monitor.

  1. Connect other cables such as power cables for the monitor and computer and then power on the monitor and computer. If the monitor screen is turned on, it indicates that the connection is successful.

Connecting to a phone/tablet

  1. Connect one end of a USB-C to USB-C cable to the USB-C port on the monitor and the other end to the USB-C port on a phone/tablet.
  2. Connect the monitor to a power supply and press the 5-way directional button upward to power on the monitor. The screen of the phone/tablet will then be projected on the monitor. When you perform operations on the phone/tablet, its screen will be synchronously displayed on the monitor, allowing for a large-screen browsing experience.
