Buttons

Gigabit Ethernet Port
The Gigabit Ethernet port is used for connecting with a wired device, such as your smart TV, computer, game console, etc.

Working Mode 1: Set Up as a WiFi Extender

1. Power on:
   • Plug the extender into a power outlet in the same room as your existing WiFi router.
   • Wait until the LED indicator blinks red slowly.
2. Connect to Your Existing WiFi Network:
   • Method 1: Set up via Web Management Interface
   1. Connect your WiFi device to the WiFi network of the extender: BrosTrend_EXT , or connect your computer to the Ethernet port of the extender with an Ethernet cable.
   2. Start a Web browser and visit brostrendwifi.com or 192.168.0.254 in the address bar.
   3. Create a login password for future logins (recommended).
   4. Choose the WiFi network you want to extend and enter the WiFi password.
   5. Customize the extended WiFi name (SSID) and password.
   6. Check if the Extender connects to your WiFi network successfully according to the status of the LED indicator.

LED indicator

• Solid Green:
  This extender/adapter is in a proper position and receiving strong signal from your router.

• Solid Yellow:
  This extender/adapter is receiving good signal from your router.

• Solid Red:
  This extender/adapter is receiving weak signal from your router. Please relocate it closer to your router for better performance.

• Blinking Red Slowly:
  This extender/adapter is powered on, while setup is not completed or fails to receive any signal from your router. Please relocate it closer to your router or set it up again.

• Blinking Green Fast:
  This extender/adapter is pairing with your existing router via WPS method. Please wait until the pairing completes.

Working Mode 1: Set Up as a WiFi Extender

Power on
Plug the extender into a power outlet in the same room as your existing WiFi router. Wait until the LED indicator blinks red slowly.

Connect to Your Existing WiFi Network

• Method 1: Set up via Web Management Interface

1. Connect your WiFi device to the WiFi network of the extender: BrosTrend_EXT, or connect your computer to the Ethernet port of the extender with an Ethernet cable.

2. Start a Web browser and visit [brostrendwifi.com](http://brostrendwifi.com) or 192.168.0.254 in the address bar.  

• If the Web UI is inaccessible, refer to Q1 in FAQ.

  3. Create a login password for future logins (recommended).

  4. Choose the WiFi network you want to extend and enter the WiFi password.

  5. Customize the extended WiFi name (SSID) and password. Click Extend.

6. Check if the Extender connects to your WiFi network successfully according to the status of the LED indicator.
  * LED indicator lighting solid on indicates a successful extension. You can connect to the following WiFi network to access the Internet.

  * LED indicator blinking red indicates the extension failed. Please connect to the following network to extend again.

• Method 2: Set up via WPS button

• This method is applicable if your router has a WPS button. Otherwise, use Method 1.

  1. Plug the extender into a power outlet in the same room as your existing WiFi router. Wait until the LED indicator blinks red slowly.
  2. Press the WPS button on your router.
  3. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on the extender, the LED indicator on extender would start to blink green fast.
  4. Wait until the LED indicator turns solid on, which indicates a successful connection with your router.

• After the WPS pairing, for network security, please connect your wireless device to the newly extended networks and visit www.brostrendwifi.com on a browser to set up a login password for your newly extended networks. Otherwise, the Web UI will be open to any devices connected to the extended networks.

  • Extended Network Names:
    XXXXXX_EXT or XXXXXX_5GEXT (XXXXXX: the WiFi name of your router)

  • Password:
    The same as the WiFi password of your existing router

Relocate

• For optimal performance, please plug the extender into an electrical outlet halfway between your WiFi router and the WiFi dead zone.
• The extender must be placed within the range of your WiFi router.
• Keep your extender away from electronics with strong interference, such as microwave oven, induction cooker, and refrigerator.

Working Mode 2: Set Up as a Universal WiFi to Ethernet Adapter

1. Please refer to Working Mode 1: Set Up as a WiFi Extender to set up the device first.
2. Then connect your wired device to this device with an Ethernet cable. Setup completed !

*In this case, you need to congure the IP Address and DNS server address of these devices as AUTO OBTAIN.

Working Mode 3: Set up as a Wireless Access Point

1. Please refer to Working Mode 1: Set Up as a WiFi Extender to set up the device first.
2. Connect your WiFi device to the extended WiFi network of this device: XXXXXX_EXT or XXXXXX_5GEXT (XXXXXX: The WiFi name of your router)
3. Start a web browser and visit brostrendwifi.com in the address bar.
4. Click More, choose Switch to AP Mode, then click Switch.
   • Internet Connection Status (Extender Mode)

  *  **Switch to AP Mode**
  1. The device will reboot and switch to AP Mode.
  2. The whole process will take about 90 seconds, do NOT cut off the power supply of the device during the reboot, otherwise the device may be damaged.

5. Connect the device to an Internet-enabled Ethernet port (LAN port of your router) with an Ethernet cable. Setup completed！

Note:

  * The LED indicator lighting solid green indicates a successful connection. Otherwise, refer to Q2 in FAQ to reset this device and try again.
  * The WiFi network name and password would be the same as in extender mode. If you would like to change the WiFi name (SSID) or password, please log back into the Web UI and customize your WiFi name and password.

FAQ

• I cannot log into the Web UI of the extender. What should I do?

  • For initial setup, ensure your wireless device is connected to the default network of the extender: BrosTrend_EXT. Ensure that the Mobile Data (if any) function is disabled. If BrosTrend_EXT is not found, please refer to Q2 to reset the extender back to its default factory setting.
  • If you have set up the extender successfully, you need to connect your device to the newly extended network of this extender and log into the Web UI.
  • Verify that brostrendwifi.com is correctly entered in the address bar of your browser.
  • Use another Web browser and try again.
  • If you are using a wired device, such as a computer, ensure that your computer is set to Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.

• How to reset the extender back to factory default setting?
  When the extender is fully powered on, press the RESET button with a needle- like object for 1-3 seconds, the LED indicator will start blinking yellow fast.
  When the LED indicator blinks red slowly, the extender is reset successfully.

• What should I do if I forget my login password?
  Please refer to Q2 to reset the extender first. Then connect to the default network BrosTrend_EXT and visit brostrendwifi.com to create a new login password. Please note down your login password for future logins.

• The extender cannot find the WiFi network of my router. What should I do?

  • Ensure the WiFi network of your router can be detected by other wireless devices.
  • Change the WiFi channel of your router and try again.
  • Change the encryption type of the router to WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK, and try again.
