DANGER
If you smell gas:
- Shut off gas to the appliance.
- Extinguish any open flame.
- If odor continues, keep away from the appliance and immediately call your gas supplier or your fire department.
- Failure to follow these instructions could result in fire or explosion which could cause property damage, personal injury or death.
**WARNING**
- Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable liquids or vapors in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.
- An LP cylinder not connected for use shall not be stored in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.
Important Safeguards
Read these Instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this
appliance is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be
included.
When using the appliance, basic safety precautions should always be followed
to reduce the risk of Injury Including the following:
- Read all instructions prior to assembly and use. The assembly and use of this appliance must conform to local codes. In absence of local codes, use either the National Fuel Gas Code (ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54), or the Natural Gas and
- Propane Installation Code (CSA B149.1), or the Propane Storage and Handling Code (CSA B149.2)
- The appliance is intended to be used with a standard 20 lb (9.1kg)LP gas cylinder (not included). Do not connect the appliance to an LP gas cylinder that exceeds this capacity.
- Do not use lava rock, wood chunks, charcoal, lighter fluid, alcohol or other similar chemicals for lighting or relighting. Keep all such substances and liquids well away from the appliance when in use.
- Use the appliance only outdoors. Do not use the appliance in a building, garage, or any other enclosed area.
- The appliance is not intended to be installed in or on boats or recreational vehicles.
- Maintain proper clearances from combustible construction. Keep a minimum clearance of 36 inches (91 cm) from sides and rear of the appliance to combustible construction.
- Do not use the appliance under overhead combustible construction.
- Keep the appliance area clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline and other flammable vapors and liquids.
- Clean and inspect the regulator hose assembly before each use. If there is evidence of abrasion, wear, cuts, or leaks, the regulator hose assembly must be replaced before operating the appliance. Use only the replacement regulator hose assembly specified by the manufacturer.
- Keep the regulator hose assembly away from the hot surfaces and dripping hot grease.
- Do not obstruct the flow of combustion and ventilation air to this appliance.
- Never operate this appliance unattended.
- Keep children and pets while the appliance is in use.
- The appliance becomes very hot while in use. Use heat-resistant gloves, long-handled tongs or insulated mitts at all times.
- Do not move the appliance when it is in use.
- Do not use the appliance without the griddle or drip tray properly installed in place.
- Always check for gas leaks when connecting or disconnecting an LP gas cylinder to the regulator hose assembly, especially after a prolonged storage period.
- This appliance must be assembled by two adults.
- Keep children and pets away while assembling the appliance.
- Do not let children play with the appliance.
- Always use the appliance on a firm and level ground. Do not use the appliance on any type of tabletop surface.
- Do not use this appliance if any parts are missing, damaged, or worn Do not over-tighten the fasteners.
- Regularly examine the appliance for wear and tear. Stop using the appliance at first sign of damage or if parts become detached.
Battery Warnings
NOTICE The battery is not included.
- Always insert battery correctly with regards to polarity (+ and -) marked on the battery and the appliance.
- Exhausted battery should be immediately removed from appliance and properly disposed.
Assembly
For additional illustrated assembly steps, refer to the end of the written
instructions.
This appliance should be assembled, maintained and operated only by adults. If
in doubt, consult a professional.
Before First Use
- Remove all the packing materials.
- Remove and review all components before starting assembly.
- Check the appliance for transport damages.
- Clean the appliance before first use. The appliance may emit a slight smell or smoke when it is first used. This is entirely safe and harmless. Ensure there is adequate ventilation in the room.
Preparation
5.1 Choosing a suitable location
- The appliance is for outdoor use only. Do not use it inside a building, garage, or any other enclosed areas.
- Place the appliance on a stable, level and heat-resistant surface.
- Place the appliance in locations with adequate fresh air ventilation.
- Keep a minimum clearance of 36 inches (91 cm) from sides and rear of the appliance to combustible construction.
- Do not use the appliance under overhead combustible construction.
NOTICE Combustible materials are materials made of or surface with wood, compressed paper, plant fibers, or other materials that are capable of being ignited and burned. Such material shall be considered combustible even though lame proofed, fire-retardant treated, or plastered. Combustible materials include lattice, wood, plants, umbrellas, canopies, awnings and similar items.
- Do not store a spare LP cylinder under or near the appliance. Keep a minimum distance of 10 feet (3 meters) away from the appliance.
- Keep children and pets away from the appliance. When children are near the appliance, they should be carefully supervised by an adult.
- Combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors or liquids should be situated at least 26 feet (8 meters) away from the appliance.
- After the appliance is set at the desired location, lock the casters properly to prevent unintended movement (Fig. 1).
5.2 Picking a suitable LP
gas cylinder
Danger Risk of fire!
- Do not store a spare LP gas cylinder under or near this appliance.
- Never fill the cylinder beyond 80 % full.
- If the information above is not followed exactly, a fire causing death or serious injury may occur.
WARNING Risk of fire!
A frosty cylinder valve on the LP gas cylinder indicates possible gas
overfill. Turn the gas supply off at the LP gas cylinder and contact the
liquid propane supplier.
Caution Risk of fire!
Only use the gas pressure regulator provided with this appliance. This
regulator is set for an outlet pressure of 11 inches water column.
NOTICE The regulator Is equipped with a QCC Type 1 quick closing
connection system.
- The regulator does not allow gas to flow until a positive seal has been made.
- The regulator has a thermal element that shuts off the gas flow if the temperature reaches 240 F (115 °C).
- The regulator has a flow-limiting device that restricts the flow of gas to 10 cubic feet per hour (0.28 cubic metrics per hour).
- The liquefied petroleum (LP) cylinder must be constructed and marked in accordance with the specifications for LP Gas Cylinders of the U.S. Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) or the National Standard of Canada, CAN/CSA-B339,
- Cylinders, Spheres and Tubes for Transportation of Dangerous Goods; and Commission.
- Only use a standard 20 lbs (9 kg) LP gas cylinder with a type 1 – QCC safety valve.
- The LP gas cylinder should be dearly marked with the text “Vapor Withdrawal”. This means it has a propane vapor withdrawal supply system. Position the LP gas cylinder properly for vapor withdrawal.
- The LP gas cylinder must be provided with an overfilling prevention device (OPD).
- The LP gas cylinder must include a collar to protect the LP cylinder valve.
- Do not use an LP gas cylinder If it has a damaged valve/ collar, or shows signs of dents, gouges, bulges, fire damage, corrosion, leakage, excessive rust, or other forms of visual external damage. Have the LP gas cylinder checked immediately by a liquid propane supplier.
- Place dust cap on cylinder valve outlet whenever the cylinder is not in use. Only install the type of dust cap on the cylinder valve outlet that is provided with the cylinder valve. Other types of caps or plugs may result in leakage of propane.
Connecting/Disconnecting a Gas Cylinder
6.1 Connecting an LP gas cylinder
- Push in the control knob and turn it clockwise to OFF position (Fig. 2). Repeat for the other 3 control knobs.
- Secure the LP gas cylinder in place using the cylinder hook and cylinder base (Fig. 3).
- Connect the cylinder valve of the regulator hose assembly to the valve outlet of the LP gas cylinder. Tighten the securing nut by hand by turning it clockwise (Fig. 4).
6.2 Disconnecting an LP gas cylinder
WARNING Risk of fire or explosion!
Do not transport or store the appliance with the LP gas cylinder connected.
Before transport or storage, disconnect the LP gas cylinder and store it
outdoors. Do not disconnect the LP gas cylinder while the appliance is in use
or is still hot.
- Push in the control knob and turn it clockwise to OFF position (Fig. 2). Repeat for the other 3 control knobs.
- Turn the securing nut counter-clockwise by hand. Disconnect the cylinder valve of the regulator hose assembly from the valve outlet of the LP gas cylinder (Fig. 5).
- lace the dust cap on the valve outlet of the LP gas cylinder when it is not in use. Only install the type of dust cap on the cylinder valve that is provided with the LP gas cylinder.
Gas Leak Test
CARBON MONOXIDE HAZARD
This appliance can produce carbon monoxide which has no odor. Using it in an
enclosed space can kill you. Never use this appliance in an enclosed space
such as a camper, tent, car or home.
Danger Risk of explosion!
Perform a gas leak test on the connection between the regulator hose
assembly and the LP gas cylinder when lighting the appliance for the first
time, when the LP gas cylinder has been refilled/changed, after a travel over
rough or bumpy roads or after a prolonged period of storage or non-use.
Do not smoke or use any type of flammable material in the area during this gas
leak test.
Do not use an open flame to check for leaks. Always use a soapy water
solution.

Push in the control knob and turn it clockwise to OFF position (Fig. 2).
-
Connect the cylinder valve of the regulator hose assembly to the valve outlet of the LP gas cylinder. Tighten the securing nut by hand by turning it clockwise.

Mix a solution of one part of water with one part of liquid soap in a clean bowl (not included) (Fig. 6) with a paint brush (not included).
-
Turn the gas supply on at the LP gas cylinder.
-
Use the paint brush to apply the solution onto the connection between the regulator hose assembly and the gas manifold (Fig. 7).

Use the paint brush to apply the solution on the connection points on the LP gas cylinder and on the regulator hose assembly (Fig. 8).
-
Visually inspect for streams of bubbles coming from the connection points. This indicates that there Is gas escaping.
If no gas bubbles appear at any connections, the connections are secure.
If a leak appears, repeat connecting the cylinder valve of the regulator hose assembly to the valve outlet of the LP gas cylinder. Perform a gas leak test after reconnection to ensure a secure and leak-free connection.
If a leak continues to appear after reconnection, do not use the appliance. Have the LP gas cylinder checked immediately by a liquid propane supplier. -
Wipe the LP gas cylinder and the regulator hose assembly dry with a soft cloth.
Operation
Warning Risk of !
If an oil/grease fire occurs, turn the appliance off, turn the gas supply off
and disconnect the LP gas cylinder. Keep away from the appliance until the
fire is out. If the fire persists, Immediately call your fire department. Do
not attempt to smother the fire or extinguish the fire with water.

- Only use the appliance when it is completely assembled, with all parts securely fastened and tightened.
- Always use the appliance on a stable and level ground. Lock the casters before operation.
- Always inspect the appliance for gas leaks, burner obstructions and for any abrasion or wear.
- Keep the appliance away from high wind areas but keep it in a well-ventilated area.
- Do not lean on the side tables to prevent the appliance from tipping over.

8.1 Checklist before lighting
- Read the Instruction manual to understand correct operation and precautions.
- Check that all components are properly assembled, intact and operable.
- Visually inspect the appliance for any signs of blockage (debris, insects) on the burner tube or in the burner portholes.
- A suitable LP gas cylinder Is used (refer to chapter Picking a suitable LP gas cylinder).
- Make sure that the top of the LP gas cylinder is clear of debris. Be sure any parts removed during assembly or servicing is replaced and fastened prior to starting.
- No alterations have been made to the appliance.
- LP gas cylinder is connected correctly (refer to chapter Connecting an LP gas cylinder).
- Connections of the appliance and the LP gas cylinder checked for gas leaks (refer to chapter Gas Leak Test)
- Location of the appliance is suitable (refer to chapter Choosing a suitable location).
8.2 Lighting instructions
Warning Risk of explosion !
- Read instructions before lighting.
- Do not use spirit, lighter-fluid or petrol for lighting or relighting.
- If you hear a hissing sound or see/smell gas escaping from the connected LP gas cylinder, do not attempt to light the appliance. Turn the gas supply off and disconnect the LP gas cylinder, and reconnect it. If the problem persists, have the LP gas cylinder checked by Liquid propane supplier.
- If an oil/grease fire occurs, turn the appliance off, turn the gas supply off and disconnect the LP gas cylinder. Keep away from the appliance until the fire Is out. If the fire persists, immediately call your fire department. Do not attempt to smother the fire or extinguish the fire with water.
- Always visually inspect the appliance before lighting.
- Ensure that there are no signs of blockage (debris, insects) on the burner tube or in the burner portholes.

Push in the control knob and turn it clockwise to OFF position (Fig. 2).

Connect the cylinder valve of the regulator hose assembly to the valve outlet of an LP gas cylinder (refer to chapter Connecting an LP gas cylinder).

. Turn the gas supply on at the LP gas cylinder.

Push in the control knob and turn It counter-clockwise to high heat setting.
-
Press the igniter button rapidly until you hear a “dick” sound which indicates a spark from the igniter. Look for flames to ensure the burner is lit.
NOTICE
if ignition does not occur in 5 seconds, turn the control knob to OFF position. Wait 5 minutes to allow any accumulated gas to dissipate before attempting to relight the burner. If the burner still does not light, refer to chapter Manual lighting instructions to light the burner using matchstick. -
After the burner is lit, adjust the temperature setting as desired using the control knob.
8.3 Manual lighting instructions

Push in the control knob and turn it clockwise to OFF position.
-
Connect the cylinder valve of the regulator hose assembly to the valve outlet of an LP gas cylinder (refer to chapter Connecting an LP gas cylinder).

Turn the gas supply on at the LP gas cylinder.
-
Put a matchstick in the matchstick holder and light the matchstick.
-
Pass it through the opening on the side of the main unit to the burner portholes (Fig. 9).
-
Push in the control knob and turn it counter-clockwise to high heat setting. Continue to push In and hold up to 5 seconds until the burner lights.
NOTICE
If ignition does not occur in 5 seconds, turn the control knob to OFF position. Wait 5 minutes to allow any accumulated gas to dissipate before attempting to relight the burner. -
After the burner is lit, adjust the temperature setting as desired using the control knob.
8.4 Flame pattern
NOTICE
After lighting, visually check the burner flames.
- A correct flame should be primarily blue with a yellow tip (Fig. 10).
- An incorrect flame is excessively yellow, orange or irregular (Fig. 10). If this is the case, clean the oil and food residues on the burner surface and the burner portholes to increase airflow.
Cooking Tips
- Use different platters and utensils for the cooked meat than the ones used to prepare raw meat to prevent cross contamination of bacteria.
- Prepare the cooking recipe, utensils, and all ingredients before cooking.
- Apply sugar-based sauces near the end of cooking to prevent burning and flare-ups.
- Always use a food thermometer to determine the internal temperature of the cooked food.

10.1 Marinated flank steak
Marinade:

- Mix the marinade ingredients in a non-metallic bowl.
- Let the steak stand in the marinade for no less than 4 hours in refrigerator.
- Cook each side of the steak for 5 minutes. The steak should look brown while its center remains rare.
- Cut steak diagonally across the grain into thin slices
10.2 Kabob
Alternating on skewers any combination of meat, onions, tomatoes, green
peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, circular slice of scallops, lobster, chicken,
sausage, pork, beef, etc.
Marinade:

- Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to boil.
- Allow the marinade to cool.
- Marinate the meat in refrigerator for several hours.
- Grill each side approximately 7 minutes turning occasionally while basting with marinade.
Cleaning and Maintenance
11.1 Cleaning
WARNING Risk of injury!
- Always allow the appliance to cool down, set the control knob to OFF position. Turn the gas supply off at the LP gas cylinder and disconnect the LP gas cylinder prior to cleaning.
- Clean the appliance regularly to prevent grease buildup, grease fires or excessive flare-ups.
NOTICE
Unscrew the Igniter button and take the battery out before cleaning.
- To clean the appliance, wipe with a soft, slightly damp doth.
- Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to dean the appliance.
11.1.1 Griddle and drip tray
NOTICE
Clean the griddle and drip tray after each use.
- Use a flat-head spatula to remove all food residues and debris from the top surface of the griddle and drip tray.
- Dip sponge in warm-hot soapy water and gently scrub the griddle and drip tray down.
- Wipe the griddle and drip tray dry with a soft cloth.
11,1.2 Burner components
WARNING Risk of injury!
Check and dean the burner tubes regularly for insects and insect nests. In
cases of severe blockage, this can cause the flames to burn backwards, and
outside of the burner tube.
NOTICE Clean the burner components every 5 to 6 uses.
- Clean the outer surface of the burner to remove food residue and dirt with a wire brush.
- Use a narrow bottle brush with a flexible handle to run through the burner tube several times.
- Clean any blocked burner portholes with a stiff wire such as an open paper clip.
11.2 Storage
11.2.1 Storing the appliance
Caution Risk of injury!
Storage of the appliance indoors is permissible only if the LP gas cylinder is
disconnected and removed from the appliance.
- Disconnect the LP gas cylinder.
- Unscrew the Igniter button and take the battery out before storage.
- Store the appliance in an area sheltered from direct contact with inclement weather (such as rain, sleet, hail, snow, dust, and debris).
- Allow the appliance to cool down completely. Cover the appliance to protect the exterior surfaces and to help prevent dirt build-up.
11.2.2 Storing the LP gas cylinder

Do not smoke while moving the LP gas cylinder.

Store the LP gas cylinder outdoors out of reach of children. Do not store it
in a building, garage or any other enclosed area.
- Place the dust cap on the cylinder valve outlet whenever the LP gas cylinder is not in use. Only install the type of dust cap on the cylinder valve that is provided with the LP gas cylinder. Other types of caps or plugs may result in leakage of LP gas.
- Never leave the LP gas cylinder exposed to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
- Store the LP gas cylinder only in upright position.
- Check for leaks after long periods of storage. Perform a gas leak test (refer to chapter Gas Leak Test) before using the appliance.
11.3 Transport
Danger Risk of explosion!
Do not smoke while transporting the LP gas cylinder.
- Disconnect the LP gas cylinder before transport.
- Unlock the casters to move the appliance. Avoid transporting the appliance on a slope or uneven ground.
11.4 Maintenance
Regularly check that all the components and fasteners are tightened.

To allow any excess oil or grease produced during cooking to flow towards the drip tray, the griddle should be placed at a slight angle. The end where the drain hole is located should be slightly lower than the opposite end. Adjust the nuts on the bolts installed underneath the griddle if necessary.
