 Warnings and Precautions

  8. Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. Do not locate this unit where the power cord will be walked on, rolled over, or otherwise stressed.

  9. If an extension cord must be used with this unit, make sure that the total of the ampere ratings on the
    products plugged into the extension cord do not exceed the extension cord rating.

  10. Make sure that the total amperes of all the units that are plugged into a single wall outlet do not exceed 15 amperes.

  11. Never push objects of any kind into this unit through the cabinet ventilation slots, as they may touch
    dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result in risk of fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind onto or into this unit.

  12. Except as specifically explained elsewhere in this manual, do not attempt to service this product yourself.
    Opening or removing covers that are marked “Do Not Remove” may expose you to dangerous voltage
    points or other risks, and will void your warranty. Refer all service issues to qualified service personnel.

  13. Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer to qualified service personnel under the following
    conditions:

    • a. When the power cord is damaged or frayed;
    • b. When liquid has spilled into the unit;
    • c. When the product has been exposed to rain or water;
    • d. When the product does not operate normally under normal operating conditions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions in this manual; improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage to the unit and may often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the unit to normal operation;
    • e. When the product has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged;
    • f. When the product exhibits a distinct change in performance, indicating a need for service.

Warranty

Standard Warranty

  • Datavideo equipment are guaranteed against any manufacturing defects for one year from the date of purchase.
  • The original purchase invoice or other documentary evidence should be supplied at the time of any request for repair under warranty.
  • The product warranty period begins on the purchase date. If the purchase date is unknown, the product warranty period begins on the thirtieth day after shipment from a Datavideo office.
  • All non-Datavideo manufactured products (product without Datavideo logo) have only one year warranty from the date of purchase.
  • Damage caused by accident, misuse, unauthorized repairs, sand, grit or water is not covered under warranty.
  • Viruses and malware infections on the computer systems are not covered under warranty.
  • Any errors that are caused by unauthorized third-party software installations, which are not required by our computer systems, are not covered under warranty.
  • All mail or transportation costs including insurance are at the expense of the owner.
  • All other claims of any nature are not covered.
  • All accessories including headphones, cables, and batteries are not covered under warranty.
  • Warranty only valid in the country or region of purchase.
  • Your statutory rights are not affected.

Register for 3 year Warranty

  • All Datavideo products purchased after July 1st, 2017 are qualified for a free two years extension to the standard warranty, providing the product is registered with Datavideo within 30 days of purchase.
  • Certain parts with limited lifetime expectancy such as LCD panels, DVD drives, Hard Drive, Solid State Drive, SD Card, USB Thumb Drive, Lighting, Camera module, PCIe Card are covered for 1 year.
  • The three-year warranty must be registered on Data video’s official website or with your local Datavideo office or one of its authorized distributors within 30 days of purchase.

Disposal

For EU Customers only – WEEE Marking

Product Overview
The TTL-100 kit turns your Data video TLM-700K / TLM700UHD into a “through the lens” monitor allowing you to see any HDMI source directly in front of the camera lens.

The TTL-100 kit is ideal for maintaining eye contact when video conferencing or allowing the talent to monitor  themselves while keeping their eye level centre of the camera lens.

  •  Can be mounted to all tripods and light stands
  • Can be used with web conferencing software such as Zoom for remote interviews, allows you to see your guest while looking directly into the centre of the camera lens.
  • Can be used for online presentations / webinars.
  • Allows the talent to see themselves while looking directly into the centre of the camera lens.
  • Web cameras with ¼ threads can be mounted directly to the TTL-100
  • A wide range of larger cameras can be mounted behind the TTL-100 when used freestanding

Assembly

  1. Attach the Velcro strips (Item I) to both sides of the TLM-700
    monitor lip as shown.

  2. Attach the cloth hood (Item G) to the Velcro strips on both sides  of the TLM-700 monitor.

  3.  Attach the cloth support strip with press studs (Item H) to both sides of the cloth hood (Item G). Ensure the support strip ispulled tight and the hood is upright.

  4. If you intend to use the TTL-100 in freestanding in front of a camera, attach the aluminium monitor bracket (Item A) to the TLM-700 monitor using the large ¼ screw (Item D).

    If you intend to mount a small box camera or webcam directly  to the TTL-100, attach the aluminium monitor bracket (Item A) and the aluminium camera bracket (Item B) to the TLM-700 monitor using the large ¼ screw (Item D).

  5. Insert the 60/40 mirror glass (Item J) into the hood (Item G) with the green sticker facing you and the Velcro strip at the top, the bottom of the glass should rest on top of the TLM-700 monitors lip, secure the glass with the Velcro at the top.

  6. Optionally attach your small box camera or web camera to the aluminium camera bracket (Item B) using the small ¼ screw (Item C) and 1.5mm rubber washer (Item F) if required. The position of the camera can be adjusted by loosening screws.

  7.  Pull the weighted cloth snood over your camera and ensurethere is no light entering the hood, any light entering the hood may reflect off the glass and back into the camera lens.

  8. If your camera has LED lights that cannot be turned off, these can be covered using the supplied cloth strips (Item E)

  9. Attach the aluminum monitor bracket (Item A) to a tripod using one of the ¼ threads.

Camera Exposure and the 60/40 Glass

After setting up the camera with the 60/40 glass in front of the lens adjust the camera set up and white balance. This is because the 60/40 Glass affects the camera exposure by approximately 1 stop almost like the effect of a neutral density filter. Consult your camera manual for further help and advice with its exposure and white balance settings. TLM-700 Monitor Setup
To use the TLM-700 with the TTL-100 we must enable the monitors flip function, this will ensure the images
from the HDMI source are correctly displayed via the mirror glass:

  1. Press the ‘Menu’ button to open the on-screen display
  2. Navigate to the bottom menu section with the cog icon by pressing the > button
  3. Press the ‘Menu’ button to select this option
  4. Navigate to the ‘Image Flip’ option
  5. Press ‘Menu’ to select this option
  6.  Press > to set the flip function to ‘V’ (vertical flip)
  7. Use the ‘Exit’ button to close the on-screen display.

You may also want to disable the Histogram feature to remove the on-screen histogram:

  1.  Press the ‘Menu’ button to open the on-screen display
  2. Navigate to the fourth menu section with the graph icon by pressing the > button
  3. Press the ‘Menu’ button to select this option
  4. Navigate to the ‘Histogram option
  5. Press ‘Menu’ to select this option
  6. Press > to set the function to ‘Off’
  7. Use the ‘Exit’ button to close the on-screen display

Cleaning the 60/40 Glass

This product contains a sheet of 60/40 glass please handle it with care.

To avoid a risk of damage or injury please follow this instruction manual and use caution when transporting, un-packing, cleaning, assembling or dis- assembling this part of the product. Datavideo recommend cleaning the glass regularly to remove dust and finger print marks. This willensure the best image quality is recorded when the camera is looking through the glass.
Never attempt to clean the glass whilst it is mounted instead remove it carefully, clean the glass and then re install it into the hood. Handle the glass carefully using the cloth covered edges of the glass at all times.
To retain the required qualities of the glass and to avoid scratching the glass during cleaning.

  • Never use abrasive cloths, pads or abrasive based cleaning fluids on the glass.
  • Never use cleaning fluids based on an acid or vinegar solution.
    Place the glass on a soft, stable, dirt and lint free work surface such as a table with a clean cloth already laid out on it. Then use a second clean, lint free, soft cloth to clean the glass.

    Do not apply cleaning fluids to the glass directly, instead apply or spray a small amount of the cleaning fluid onto the cloth. Proceed to clean the glass and work in a light circular motion with the cloth. Ensure all finger marks and streaks are gone before turning the glass over and repeating with the other side.
    Once finished re-install the glass back into the hood, again using the cloth covered edges only. Ensure the green circle sticker on the glass is facing you and the red circle sticker is facing the camera lens. Reseat/secure the camera hood if necessary.
