SUNCO LIGHTING 27845 Bi-Level Microwave Motion and Daylight Sensor

Product Information

The BI-LEVEL MICROWAVE MOTION & DAYLIGHT SENSOR, model #27845, is a sensor used in conjunction with a luminaire. It requires a qualified electrician for installation. Please read the instructions before installing and using the sensor. The sensor provides power supply, dim control output, HF system transmission power, detection sensitivity, mounting height, time setting, light control, temperature, and IP rating. With sufficient natural light, the light does not switch on when a presence is detected. However, with insufficient natural light, the sensor automatically switches on the light when a presence is detected. After the hold time, if the surrounding natural light is below the daylight threshold, the light dims to a stand-by level. The light will switch off automatically after the stand-by period elapses. The sensor also has a daylight sensor function that requires the RC-100 remote (sold separately) for adjustments beyond the factory default settings. In the example setting provided, the hold time is set to 30 minutes. The set point on is set to 50 Lux, and the set point off is set to 300 Lux. The stand-by dim level is set to 10%, and the stand-by period is adjustable (when the daylight sensor is activated, the stand-by time is +). During operation at night, the light switches on at 100% when movement is detected. After the hold time ends, the light dims to a stand-by level. When there is no motion detected, the light remains in a dimming level at night. In a long absence, the light dims to 10%. If the natural light level exceeds the set point off to light, the light will turn off even if the space is occupied. When there is insufficient natural light (no motion), the light automatically turns on at 10%.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure the sensor is installed by a qualified electrician.
  2. Read the instructions carefully before installing and using the sensor.
  3. For adjustments beyond the factory default settings, use the RC-100 remote (sold separately).
  4. Set the desired settings for hold time, set point on, set point off, stand-by dim level, and stand-by period using the RC-100 remote.
  5. During operation at night, the light will switch on at 100% when movement is detected.
  6. After the hold time ends, the light will dim to a stand-by level.
  7. If there is no motion detected, the light will remain in a dimming level at night.
  8. In long absence, the light will dim to 10%.
  9. If the natural light level exceeds the set point, the light will turn off even if the space is occupied.
  10. If there is insufficient natural light (no motion), the light will automatically turn on at 10%.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR #278455

PLEASE FIND A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN FOR INSTALLATION. Please read the instructions before you install the sensor and use the luminaire. WARNING, CAUTIONS AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  • To reduce the risk of death, personal injury or property damage from fire, electric shock, falling parts, cuts/abrasions, and other hazards read all warnings and instructions included with and on the fixture box and all fixture labels.
  • Before installing, servicing, or performing routine maintenance upon this equipment, follow these general precautions.
  • If you are unsure about the installation or maintenance of the luminaires, consult a qualified licensed electrician and check your local electrical code.
  • Do not make or alter any open holes in an enclosure of wiring or electrical components during kit installation.
  • Turn off electrical power at fuse or circuit breaker box before installation or performing any maintenance.
  • Avoid direct eye exposure to the light source while it is on.
  • NOTE : The warm-up time is 15 seconds. After the sensor is connected to input power for the first time, the light will stay on for 15 seconds, then go to dimming to work normally.
  • Factory Default Settings: Sensitivity set to 100%. Hold on time 5 minutes. Daylight sensor is disabled (Set at ). The dimming level at 30%. Dimming time at 60 minutes.
  • RC-100 Remote (sold separately) required to change factory default settings. If any setting is changed, the LED light will turn on/off as confirmation of connection.
  • For use with specific PQL fixtures, with a compatible installed sensor socket.
  • Adjustable elbow #67845 may be required for installation, sold separately.

WARNING DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE INSTALLING OR SERVICING.

CORRIDOR FUNCTION

RC-100 remote (sold separately) is required for adjustments beyond the factory default settings.
This sensor can provide tri-level control, for areas that require a light change notice (dimmed light) before switch-off. The sensor offers 3 modes of brightness: 100%–>dimmed light (natural light is insufficient) –>off; and 2 periods of selectable waiting time: motion hold-time and stand-by period. Features adjustable daylight threshold and motion detection sensitivity.

  1. With sufficient natural light, the light does not switch on when a presence is detected.
  2. With insufficient natural light, the sensor switches on the light automatically when a presence is detected.
  3. After hold-time, the light dims to stand-by level if the surrounding natural light is below the daylight threshold.
  4. Light switches off automatically after the stand-by period elapses.

DAYLIGHT SENSOR FUNCTION – RC-100 remote (sold separately) required for adjustments beyond the factory default settings. When the remote control is in setting condition push to select the daylight sensor settings.

  • Setting in this example: Hold Time: 30 Min.
  • Set Point On: 50 Lux
  • Set Point Off : 300 Lux Stand-By Dim: 10%
  • Stand-By Period: +∞

(When the daylight sensor is activated, the standby time is +∞)

  1. The light switches on at 100% when there is movement detected.
  2. The light dims to a stand-by level after the hold time.
  3. The light remains in a dimming level at night.
  4. When the natural light level exceeds the set point to light, the light will turn off even if the space is occupied.
  5. The light automatically turns on at 10% when natural light is insufficient (no motion).
