Product Information: AVIGILON AVA Compact Dome Camera

The AVIGILON AVA Compact Dome Camera is a high-quality surveillance camera designed for indoor use. It is part of the Avigilon Alta Cloud Security system, providing advanced security features and reliable performance. The camera is equipped with a lens cover to protect the lens and ensure optimal image quality. It supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) for convenient installation and connectivity.

Important Warnings and Safety Instructions

  • Avoid placing the camera near fans, ventilation, or other noise sources as it may degrade audio performance.
  • Avoid scratching or leaving fingerprints on the lens cover as it may degrade image quality. If possible, keep the protective plastic on the lens cover during installation.
  • Do not clean the camera with harsh detergents, gasoline, or chemicals such as acetone.
  • Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself. Refer all servicing of the camera to Avigilon or contact a reseller.
  • Do not install the camera during rain, mist, or other conditions of high humidity as it may cause damage or condensation issues.

This product requires a Power over Ethernet (PoE) Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) compliant to IEEE 802.3af for power supply. The PSE should be UL listed and marked Limited Power Source or LPS, with an output rating of 48V and 12W minimum from the connected port. Both the camera and the PoE PSE must be installed within the same building and properly grounded.

Camera Placement
For optimal surveillance, it is recommended to mount the camera high on a wall or in the ceiling. Avoid placing the camera near obstacles, overhangs, or in corners, as this may cause reflections that reduce image quality, especially during night vision.

Using the Drilling Template

  1. Use the provided drilling template to mark the desired position for camera installation.
  2. If using through the wall cable connections, mark the cable entry position using the template.

Installing the Camera

  1. Drill the holes according to the marked positions on the drilling template.
  2. Install the provided anchors into the drilled holes.
  3. Securely mount the camera onto the installed anchors.

Attaching the Ethernet Cable

  1. Connect the Ethernet cable to the designated port on the camera.

Adjusting the Picture

  1. Use the video stream to confirm the image orientation.
  2. If necessary, adjust the image orientation in Alta Aware, the associated software for the Avigilon Alta Cloud Security system.

Installing the Top Cover

  1. Attach the top cover securely onto the camera.
  2. If using side entry cable connections, remove the cable bridging piece before attaching the top cover.
  3. If needed, use long nose pliers or a similar tool to pull out the cable bridging piece.

  • Avoid placing the camera near fans, ventilation or other noise sources. This will degrade audio performance.

  • Do not clean the camera with harsh detergents, gasoline or chemicals such as acetone.
  • Do not try to repair the unit yourself. Refer all servicing of the camera to Avigilon or contact a reseller.
  • Do not install the camera during rain, mist or other conditions of high humidity. Water may be trapped inside, causing damage or condensation issues.
  • This product should be supplied by a Power over Ethernet (PoE) Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) compliant to IEEE 802.3af. The PSE should be UL listed and marked “Limited Power Source” or “LPS”. The output should be rated 48V and 12W minimum from the connected port.
  • The camera and the PoE PSE must be installed within the same building, as described by Environment A of the IEEE 802.3af standard. The PoE PSE must be properly grounded.

CAMERA PLACEMENT
