Introduction
The battery charger 3 100 85 is an accessory designed for the UPS range 1-3kVA
to shorten the charging time of the battery banks connected to the UPS.
You are advised to read carefully this manual and the safety instruction sheet
included in the packaging before installing the battery charger.

Condition of use
- This product is designed for indoor use only in a controlled environment away from excess moisture, temperature extremes, conductive contaminants, dust, corrosive agents or direct sunlight.
- Do not install and operate the Charger when water condensation happen which may occur if the charger is moved directly from a cold to a warm environment.
- Do not install or use this equipment in the presence of flammable substances.
- The air flow required for safe operation of the equipment should not be compromised. Ensure enough space on each side for ventilation and install the charger in a location with good aeration.
- Installation and wiring must be performed in accordance with the local electrical laws and regulations.
- The charger must be securely grounded. Ensure earth connection and its reliability before connecting the power wires to the wiring terminal of the building. Make sure the battery cabinets have the equipotential earth bonding to the charger main cabinet.
- An appropriate switch device as backup protection for over-current or short circuit should be provided in the input utility.
- Select the Battery Charger suitable for your battery bank by reading the Chargers specifications included in this manual. Pay attention to the battery bank voltage rating and capacity. The connection with wrong battery voltage may cause permanent damage to the Charger, the connection with wrong capacity may cause permanent damage to the batteries.
- In a domestic environment this product may cause radio interference in which case the user may be required to take adequate measures.

Installation

- Cable type L1 +A3 : used to connect Keor LP , it is included only in the references 310958,310960,310961
- Cable type L2 +A2 : used to connect Daker DK, it is included only in the references 310959,310961
Wiring installation guide
CAUTION
Only a licensed and expert electrician is authorized to install the Battery
Charger.

Switch off all the power sources that supply UPS, battery banks and chargers. Ensure that the Battery Charger is unplugged.

Turn off the battery banks breakers.

Remove the terminal cover by means of a screwdriver (picture 1).

Connect the battery cables to the battery box terminal (picture 2).
Make sure +/- wires position is correct (not reverse no short circuit).
CAUTION : tighten screws and SELECT THE RIGHT OUTPUT VOLTAGE.
CAUTION : fix L1/L2 to the charger box through the cable ties (A4).
CAUTION : Assembly the terminal cover and fix it to the charger box by screw (picture 3). -
Connect the battery charger to the battery bank through the DC cable L1, L2, L3, L4, L5 (picture 4,5).

Ensure the installation is safe for the final user applying to the battery cabinet terminal block insulating cover and cables glands.

Plug the power cable to the AC mains socket.

Switch on the battery banks breakers.

Turn on the mains that supply UPS, battery banks and battery chargers.
CAUTION
Before uninstalling the battery charger, switch off the mains and the battery banks and ensure no dangerous voltage is present in the terminal block.
