BLUE OX 405-0772 6 to 6 Coiled Cable Kit
Product Information
The BX8862 6 to 6 Coiled Cable Kit is a wiring kit designed for towing vehicles. It includes a 6 to 6 coiled electrical cable and a black plastic 6 pin connector. The kit is manufactured by Blue Ox.
Product Usage Instructions
- Ensure you have the latest version of the installation instructions by visiting www.blueox.com.
- Identify the components in the kit:
- 1 x 6 to 6 Coiled Electrical Cable (Part No. 294-1111)
- 1 x Black Plastic 6 Pin Connector (Part No. 294-0902)
- Connect the cables and plugs as follows:
- Left Turn – Connect to the corresponding left turn signal wire on the towing vehicle.
- Battery – Connect to the positive terminal of the towing vehicle’s battery.
- Right Turn – Connect to the corresponding right turn signal wire on the towing vehicle.
- Ground – Connect to a solid ground point on both the towing vehicle and the vehicle being towed.
- Brake Tail Light – Connect to the brake light wire on the towing vehicle.
- Brake – Connect to the brake wire on the vehicle being towed.
- Ground Tail Light – Connect to the ground wire of the tail lights on the vehicle being towed.
- Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
PROBLEM – LIGHTS WORK CORRECTLY BUT ARE DIM AND/OR ACTIVATES ANOTHER
LIGHT.
POSSIBLE CAUSES/SOLUTIONS:
- A. Bad, loose or faulty ground on either or both vehicles. Pay special attention that the ground is solid.
- B. Short circuit in the system on either or both vehicles.
- C. Towing vehicle alternator too small.
- D. Towing vehicle wiring is too light to handle extra power requirements.
- E. Towing vehicle may require a heavy duty flasher unit to handle the extra load.
PROBLEM – DOESN’T WORK WHEN ACTIVATING BLINKER, TAIL LIGHTS OR BRAKES.
POSSIBLE CAUSES/SOLUTIONS:
- A. Wiring error to the bulb and sockets.
- B. Bad, loose or faulty ground on either or both vehicles. Pay special attention that the ground is solid.
- C. Fuse in towing vehicle is blown. Check continuity of all wires to ground to be sure harness is not short circuited.
- D. Bad connection between female and male plugs. Check for solid connection.
