Product Usage Instructions
To install the BX8861 4 to 4 Coiled Cable Kit, please follow these steps:
- Visit the website www.blueox.com for the latest version of installation instructions.
- Identify the components included in the kit:

3. Begin the installation process by connecting the cable and connector as follows:
- Connect the right turn/brake wire of the cable to the corresponding wire on the towing vehicle.
- Connect the left turn/brake wire of the cable to the corresponding wire on the towing vehicle.
- Connect the tail light wire of the cable to the corresponding wire on the towing vehicle.
- Connect the ground wire of the cable to a solid ground point on
the towing vehicle.
4. Repeat steps 3 for the remaining wires in the cable.
Troubleshooting:
If you encounter any issues with the product, refer to the following troubleshooting guide:
Problem: Lights work correctly but are dim and/or activates another light.
Possible Causes/Solutions:
- A. Bad, loose or faulty ground on either or both vehicles. Pay special attention that the ground is solid.
- B. Short circuit in the system on either or both vehicles.
- C. Towing vehicle alternator too small.
- D. Towing vehicle wiring is too light to handle extra power requirements.
- E. Towing vehicle may require a heavy-duty flasher unit to handle the extra load.
Problem: Doesn’t work when activating blinker, tail lights or brakes.
Possible Causes/Solutions:
- A. Wiring error to the bulb and sockets.
- B. Bad, loose or faulty ground on either or both vehicles. Pay special attention that the ground is solid.
- C. Fuse in towing vehicle is blown. Check continuity of all wires to ground to be sure the harness is not short-circuited.
- D. Bad connection between female and male plugs. Check for a solid connection.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
PROBLEM – LIGHTS WORK CORRECTLY BUT ARE DIM AND/OR ACTIVATES ANOTHER
LIGHT.
POSSIBLE CAUSES/SOLUTIONS:
- A. Bad, loose or faulty ground on either or both vehicles. Pay special attention that the ground is solid.
- B. Short circuit in the system on either or both vehicles.
- C. Towing vehicle alternator too small.
- D. Towing vehicle wiring is too light to handle extra power requirements.
- E. Towing vehicle may require a heavy duty flasher unit to handle the extra load.
PROBLEM – DOESN’T WORK WHEN ACTIVATING BLINKER, TAIL LIGHTS OR BRAKES.
