Product Information

The Scanning Pen is an artificial intelligence product that integrates various technologies such as picture splicing, OCR, translation, and intelligent voice. It is designed to improve efficiency in scenarios such as re-study, overseas tourism, and business office. The device has a touch screen, power button, volume button, return button, and a red/blue voice button for voice translation.

Power Button

• Power On / Off: Long press the power button for more than 3 seconds to turn the product on/off or restart it.
• Standby: Short press the power button to unlock the screen or put the device on standby.

Volume Button

The volume button is shared with the voice button. Press the red/blue button to adjust the sound volume.

Return Button

The return button is a common AI function key. Short press the round button of the device or press the power button twice to return.

Touch Screen

The touch screen supports clicking, sliding, and tapping to select the required functions.

Red/Blue Voice Button

The red/blue voice button is used for voice input in the voice translation function. Long press the blue button to speak in Chinese and have it automatically translated into English. Long press the red button to speak in English and have it automatically translated into Chinese.

Product Usage Instructions

Preparations before Using

1. Power Charging: Check if the device has sufficient battery power. If not, use the provided charging line to charge the device. It is recommended to charge for 1 hour or wait until the battery is sufficient before turning on the device. When the device is powered off, the screen will display the charging indication and the percentage of power after about 8-10 seconds. If the device is powered on while charging, a battery logo with a lightning mark will appear in the upper right corner of the screen.
2. Network Connection: After turning on the device, connect to a network in the WLAN settings interface. It can be connected to WiFi or a mobile hotspot for better online functionality.

Scan Operation

1. Due to technical requirements, during the scanning process, hold the device at an inclination of 70-90 degrees with the plane and align the collimation with the text center line.
2. Press the pen head until it lights up, then drag the scanning to the right while keeping the pen head light constantly during the scanning process.
3. Align the aim point with the blank space in front of the first text and start scanning. Raise the pen head after scanning the last text.
4. View the results on the screen and click for corresponding operations.

Offline Use

The device supports normal scanning dictionary and other functions without connecting to a network. However, it is recommended to connect to a network for a better user experience.

Main Functions

In the main interface, pressing the pen head directly activates the scanning dictionary function by default. The device supports Chinese and English vocabulary scanning with a large amount of vocabulary content. If you need to connect with multi-line scanning, please turn on the multi-line function.

Power button

1. Power On / Off: Long press the power button for more than 3 seconds to select on/ off or restart the product.
2. Standby: short press the power button to unlock the screen or standby.
   Volume button (shared with the voice button): press the red / blue button to adjust the sound volume.
   Return button: (common AI function key): short press the “round button” of the device or short press the power button twice to return.
   Touch screen: it supports clicking, sliding, and tapping the screen to select the required functions.
   Red / blue voice button: it is the voice input button of voice translation function. Long press the blue button to speak Chinese which automatically translate it into English; Long press the red button to speak English which automatically translate it into Chinese.

Preparations before using

1. Power charging: please check whether the power of the device is sufficient before use it.
   If the device cannot be started or shows lake of battery, please use the equipped charging line to charge the device. It is best to charge for 1 hour or wait until the battery is sufficient before turn on the device.
   When the device is powered off, the screen will display the charging indication and the percentage of power in about 8-10 seconds.
   Charge the device when it is powered on, the battery logo in the upper right corner of the screen will show with “lightning” mark.

2. Network connection: after the device is turned on, connect the network in the setting -“WLAN” interface. It can be connected to WiFi or mobile hotspot which make the device more effective during online mode.

8. Offline Use
   This device supports normal scanning dictionary and other functions without connecting with the network; It is recommended to connect the network first for better using experience

9. The top of the device screen displays some status information about the device, such as WiFi connection status, power percentage, charging status, etc.
   Main functions: (in the main interface, if you directly press the pen head to scan, the scanning dictionary function is automatically used by default)

Scan dictionary

It supports Chinese and English vocabulary scanning and has a large amount of vocabulary contents. If you need to connect with multi-line scanning, please turn on the multi-line function.

1. After scanning, the screen will automatically displays the results. Tap the word/sentence to view the details, tap to add to the new thesaurus for easy review in the future.
2. It has the functions of text interpretation, word explanation, sentence making, synonym, antonym and other functions.

Voice translation (online use)

• Support online language translation in Chinese and English (with our software upgrade, the supported languages will increase)
• In the voice translation interface, long press the blue button to speak Chinese and automatically translate it into English; Long press the red button to speak English and automatically translate it into Chinese; The screen will automatically displays the results and read them out.
• Basic learning (English, Chinese, Mathematics)
• It includes multi-disciplinary synchronous and basic knowledge to help children quickly master basic knowledge and improve learning efficiency

Synchronous learning

Conduct relevant explanation, knowledge induction, expand learning and increase the width of knowledge for multiple disciplines.

AI voice

Equipped with intelligent voice system, after long press AI function button, the encyclopedia system will solve the question what you have asked.

Vocabulary Notebook

Words are not mastered during scanning can be collected in the vocabulary notebook for review and learning again.

System settings

1. WLAN: connect WiFi for the device which make the device functioning more effective.
2. Bluetooth: Connect to Bluetooth headset, Bluetooth speaker and other audio devices.
3. Volume: Sounds up/down.
4. Brightness: Adjust the brightness of the screen.
5. Date time: View date time and set time zone.
6. System update: Able to check whether there is any updated software version and start to update it.
7. About the device: view the current equipment model, SN number, software version and other information.
8. Pen holding direction: you can choose left / right hand pen holding according to your habits.

Cautions

1. When upgrading the device, do not perform any operations during program download or automatic program installation.
2. Please connect to WIFI for better using experience; Some functions require networking.
3. During scanning, keep the equipment inclined at 70-90 degrees, align the aim point with the text center line, and drag at a constantly speed; If the identification is not correct, try again.
4. Align the aim point with the space before the initial letter and start scanning. After the aim point has scanned the last letter, raise the pen head.
5. During voice translation, the distance between the mouth and the MIC of the device is within 30cm, which is the best distance for voice recognition.
6. Please speak with normal speed and coherence and do not pause many times during the talk. The above situation is easy to cause inaccurate translation.
7. Please try to pronounce words as standard as possible, and don’t use phrases or slang.
8. The recognition results can be verified through the text displayed on the screen. If there is any error, it can be manually input and edited.
9. If your words are correctly recognized, but the translation is not accurate, please change your expression.

Exception handling
Forced shutdown: when the device fails to shut down normally or crashes, press and hold the power key for more than 10 seconds to force shutdown.
