Product Usage Instructions

  • Installation Warnings

    • Please read the following instructions carefully before using the appliance. It is important to obtain the best results from the use of the cooker hood.
  • General Indications

    • Before installing and using the hood, ensure that the voltage (V) and frequency (Hz) indicated on the feature plate match the voltage and frequency at the installation site.
    • The feature plate and technical data are shown on the inside of the product. The hood is equipped with an extendible duct that allows it to be adjusted to the height of the stove.
  • Installation

    • This product must be installed with a method of ventilation in place.
    • When installed, the hood can work by extracting the air to the outside by installing it with an exhaust pipe (not supplied).
    • Connect the plastic conical outlet piece supplied with the hood (150mm diameter) to an exhaust pipe (not supplied) connected directly to the outside.
    • For information on how to install with vent inside, please refer to page 13 of the manual.
    • Note: There needs to be adequate ventilation in the room if the cooker hood is used at the same time as appliances burning gas or other fuels.
  • Wall Mounting Installation

    • _ Prepare for installation: _If you have an outlet outside, your cooker hood can be connected as pictured by means of an extraction duct (enamel, aluminum, flexible pipe, or inflammable material with an interior diameter of 150mm).

IMPORTANT! USER WARNINGS

  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Ensure there is adequate ventilation of the room when the hood is used at the same time as appliances burning gas or other fuels. This is not applicable when the hood extracts air outside of the house.
  • Do not flambé under the cooker hood.
  • The minimum distance between the supporting surface for the cooking vessels on the hob and the lowest parts of the hood when the hood is located above a gas appliance, this distance shall be at least 65cm. If the instructions for installation for the gas hob specify a greater distance, this has to be taken into account.
  • Regulations concerning the discharge of air have to be fulfilled.
  • This hood must be installed in accordance with this instruction manual and all measurements must be adhered to.
  • If the installation of the cooker hood is to be above a gas appliance then the provision of ventilation must be in accordance with the Building Regulations, the latest edition of the Gas Safety Codes of Practice and the Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations, the Building Standards (Scotland) (Consolidated) Regulations.
  • When drilling into walls to mount the hood ensure you do not drill through any electrical wires or pipe work.
  • If the supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by a qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
  • If the power cord is damaged, please contact the afte r-sales service.
  • The filter is made of high-density aluminum.
  • The air must not be discharged into a smoke unit or chimney that is used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.
  • Regulations concerning the discharge of air have to be fulfilled.
  • This product has been designed to work with up to 4 hob elements.
    • CAUTION! Accessible parts may become hot when used with cooking appliances.
  • This cooker hood is for home use only.
  • Please keep the kitchen ventilated when in use.
  • Use the unit in accordance with these instructions in order to avoid a hazard.

General Indications

Installation

  • THIS PRODUCT MUST BE INSTALLED WITH A METHOD OF VENTILATION IN PLACE.
  • When installed, the hood can work by one method of extracting the air to the outside, by installing the hood with an exhaust pipe (not supplied) to the outside.
  • Connect the plastic conical outlet piece supplied with the hood (150mm diameter) to an exhaust pipe (not supplied) connected di rectly to the outside.
  • For info rmation on how to install with vent inside, please go to page 13.
  • There needs to be adequate ventilation of the room if the cooker hood is used at the same time as appliances burning gas or other fuels.

WARNING! Do not connect the hood to chimneys, ventilation pipes or hot air pipes. Before connecting any pipes, consult municipal ordinances on exhaust air and request permission from the person in charge of the building.

  • Be sure there is adequate ventilation even in cases where the hood is to be used simultaneously with another product.
  • Follow the local laws applicable for external air evacuation.

WALL MOUNTING INSTALLATION

Prepare for installation

  • A. If you have an outletoutside, your cooker hood can be connected as pictured by means of an extraction duct (enamel, aluminium, flexible pipe or inflammable material with an interior diameter of 150mm).
  • B. Before installation, turn the unit off and unplug it from the outlet.
  • C. The cooker hood should be placed at a distance of 65-75cm above the cooking plane for best results.

INSTALLATION (VENT OUTSIDE)

Attention! Observe the warnings in this information manual concerning the operation of the appliance when air is discharged from the room.

Installation of the cooker hood

  1. Drill 3 x 8mm holes for hood holding bracket. Tighten the bracket with the sc rews and plugs p rovided.Kitchenplus-KPVH65-Black-Vertical-Cooker-Hood-FIG-1 \(3\)

  3. Secure the hood by using two of the supplied wall plugs and two supplied ST4 x 30mm screws to x the hood to the wall.

  5. The lower chimney bracket is used to x the lower decorative chimney. Use two 4x8mm screws to attach the lower chimney and the lower chimney bracket together r. Before attaching the bracket to the chimne y, decide the location of lower chimney bracket and mark the hole. Fix the lower chimney bracket to the wall with two wall plugs and two ST4 x 30mm screws. Do not fasten the screws too tight. Ensure the upper decorative chimney can be telescopically adjusted after assembled.Kitchenplus-KPVH65-Black-Vertical-Cooker-Hood-FIG-1 \(6\)
  6. Pull the upper chimney upwards and adjust to reach the height required. Mark and drill two holes to accommodate the upper chimney bracket and fix using two wall plugs and two ST4 x 30mm screws.
  7. Attach two ST4 x 8mm screws to secure the upper chimney bracket and the upper ch imney.Kitchenplus-KPVH65-Black-Vertical-Cooker-Hood-FIG-1 \(8\)
  8. Finally, attach the outer chimney wi th the hood, using two ST4 x 8mm screws.

INSTALLATION (VENT INSIDE)

If you do not have an outlet to the outside, an exhaust pipe is not required and the installation is similar to the one shown in section “Installation (Vent outside)”. An activated carbon filter can be used to trap odors.

Carbon filters are sold separately. For use where external extraction is unavailable and re-circulation is required.Kitchenplus-KPVH65-Black-

In order to install the activated carbon filter, the grease filter should be detached first. To do this press the lock and pull downward. Continued on the next page.

INSTALLATION (VENT INSIDE)

Plug the activated carbon filter into the unit and turn it in clockwise direction. Repeat the same on the other side.

NOTE:

  • Make sure the filter is securely locked. Otherwise it could become loose and cause dangers.
  • When the carbon filter attached is activated, the suction power will be lower.

REPLACING THE LAMPS

  1. Switch the unit off and unplug the appliance.
  2. Push out and unclip the old LED lamp (bottom of unit).
  3. Replace with the same type and rated LED lamp (max. 2W).

  • Light button
    Press the light bulb symbol to turn the LED lights on/off.

  • Low-speed setting
    The low-speed setting is used when cooking does not produce a lot of steam. Use this setting when simmering.

  • Medium speed setting
    The medium speed setting is used as the standard setting for normal cooking. This setting is recommended for most types of cooking.

  • High-speed setting
    Use the high-speed setting when cooking on multiple zones or when the density of smoke/ steam increases.

  • Off button
    Switches the extraction fan off.

MAINTENANCE

Cleaning

  • Before any cleaning, always make sure that the electrical cord is disconnected and the switch is turned off. Clean the external part with mild liquid detergent and avoid the use of abrasive cleaning products.

Cleaning the grease filter

  • Depending on use; at least once a month the grease filters should be disassembled and cleaned with hot soapy water. After rinsing and drying, replace the filters by following the steps for disassembly in reverse order.

IMPORTANT

  • Never use the hood in areas where devices with exhaust pipes connected to the outside are already operating unless perfect ventilation can be guaranteed.
  • To avoid the possibility of fire, adhere strictly to all of the recommendations included here and to the periodic cleaning of the grease filters.
  • The manufacturer declines all liability in cases where the instructions for the appropriate installation, maintenance, and use of the cooker hood are not observed.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Electrical Connection

  • Before connecting to the mains electrical supply ensure that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate inside the cooker hood.
  • This appliance is fitted with a 3-core mains cable and plug.
  • If the fuse is replaced it must be replaced with one of identical rating and type.

Electrical Requirements

  • Any permanent electrical installation must comply with the latest I.E.E. Regulations. For safety and to avoid hazards this should be undertaken by a qualified electrician.
  • THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED.
