Kryakyn GL1800 Rotor Covers

Product Information

The product is a set of rotor covers designed for the GL1800 motorcycle. It includes one LH Rotor Cover and one RH Rotor Cover, both in chrome finish. The package also includes a hardware kit consisting of one Left Mounting Bracket and one Right Mounting Bracket, both in black powder coat finish. Additionally, the hardware kit includes two adjustable inside Mounting Brackets (pre-assembled on the rotor covers), various screws, washers, and nuts made of stainless steel, as well as rubber washers. The product comes with installation instructions.

Product Usage Instructions

1. STEP 1: Using a 5mm Allen wrench, remove the caliper cover bolts as shown in PIC.1.

2. STEP 2: Remove the fender (and caliper cover) bolts as shown in PIC.2. Then, remove the caliper cover.

3. STEP 3: One side at a time, use a 12mm wrench to remove the pinch bolts from the bottom of the fork sliders. Install the lower mounting brackets as shown in PIC.3. Re-install and re-tighten the pinch bolts. Ensure that the brackets are correctly positioned (R for right and L for left).

4. STEP 4: Install the rotor covers as shown in PIC.4. Use the supplied M6 x 1.0 x 30mm BSCS 18-8 SST flange bolts in the designated positions on the right side and bottom left side. Use the longer M6 X 1.0 x 35mm BSCS 18-8 SST bolt on the top left side (see PIC 7). If the hole is not threaded, use a nut at the top location on the right side.

5. STEP 5: Refer to PIC.5. The lower mounting tab is adjustable.
   Before mounting the rotor covers, slightly loosen the three-tab mounting bolts. When securing this mounting point to the mounting bracket, it is recommended to place the socket head cap screw on the long end of an Allen wrench and maneuver it into place through the bottom portion of the cooling slot in the rotor cover. Once the mounting point is secure, re-tighten the three small tab mounting bolts.

6. STEP 6: Refer to PIC.6. Replace the caliper covers in the same manner they were removed. Replace the two fender mounting bolts with the two M6 x 1.0 x .910 shoulder bolts provided.

NOTE

• Use rubber washers under the heads of the metric button heads provided.
• The wave washers are used with the (2) socket head cap screws.

TOOLS SUGGESTED

• 5mm Allen wrench, 12mm Box End or Socket wrench

PROCEDURE

• STEP 1 Remove the caliper cover bolts as shown in PIC.1.
• STEP 2 Remove the fender (and caliper cover) bolt as in PIC.2.
• Remove the caliper cover.
• STEP 3 One side at a time, using your 12mm wrench, remove the pinch bolts from the bottom of the fork sliders and install the lower mounting brackets as shown in PIC.3.
• Re-install and re-tighten the pinch bolts. The brackets are stamped “R” and “L” for right and left.
• STEP 4 Install the rotor covers as shown in PIC.4.
• The three M6 x 1.0 x 30mm BSCS 18-8 SST flange bolts will be used in the positions marked with arrows on the right side and bottom left side.
• The longer M6 X 1.0 x 35mm BSCS 18-8 SST will be used on the top left side shown in PIC 7.
• A nut will be used at the top location on the right side if the hole is not threaded.
• STEP 5 See PIC.5. This lower mounting tab is adjustable. Before you mount the rotor covers, loosen the three-tab mounting bolts slightly.
• When securing this mounting point to the mounting bracket, we suggest placing the socket head cap screw on the long end of an Allen wrench and maneuvering it into place through the bottom portion of the cooling slot in the rotor cover.
• When this mounting point is secure, the three small tab mounting bolts may be re-tightened.
• STEP 6 See PIC.6. Replace the caliper covers in the same manner they were removed.
• Replace the two fender mounting bolts with the two M6 x 1.0 x .910” shoulder bolts provided.
