Proper use
The cordless olive/fruit tree shaker is used for harvesting olives, walnuts,
apples, pears, plums, cherries and other types of windfall.
The equipment is to be used only for its prescribed purpose. Any other use is
deemed to be a case of misuse. The user / operator and not the manufacturer
will be liable for any damage or injuries of any kind caused as a result of
this.
Please note that our equipment has not been designed for use in commercial,
trade or industrial applications. Our warranty will be voided if the machine
is used in commercial, trade or industrial businesses or for equivalent
purposes.

Before starting the equipment
The equipment is supplied without batteries and without a charger and is
allowed to be used only with the lithium-ion batteries of the Power XChange
series!
Caution! Do not fit the battery until the equipment has been fully assembled
and all the settings have been actuated. Always wear protective gloves when
working on the equipment to protect yourself against injury.
Assembly

Fitting the battery guard handle to the housing of the operating handle
Note: To fit, use the supplied combination screwdriver (Fig. 2 / Item 21). -
Fig. 3a: Press the screw boss from the left battery guard handle (Item 1a) into the holes provided in the housing of the operating handle (Item 4a).

Fig. 3b: Push the grip (Item 1b) onto the left battery guard handle (Item 1a).

Fig. 3c: Press the right battery guard handle (Item 1c) into the grip (Item 1b) and into the housing of the operating handle (Item 19).

Fig. 3d: Use the three assembly screws (Item 23) to screw together (from the right-hand side) the left and the right battery guard handles.

Fig. 3e-3f: Pass the socket head screw with washer (Item 22) through the right battery guard handle and the grip and screw both to the left battery guard handle.

Fitting the prongs to the joint Fig. 4: Press the prongs (Item 19) into the mounts
(Item 18a) on the joint. The prongs will be locked in place with an audible click. -
Connecting the base tube to the housing of the operating handle Fig. 5a – 5c: Note: The guide spring (Item 10a) on the base tube must match the guide groove (Item 4b) on the housing of the operating handle.
Push the base tube (Item 10) into the housing of the operating handle as far as the bead (Item 10b) and use the union nut (Item 6) to screw it tight. -
Connecting the telescopic tube B to the shaking unit
Fig. 6a – 6c: Note: The guide spring (Item 14a) on the telescopic tube B (Item
- must match the guide groove (Item 17a) on the shaking unit (Item 17).
Push the telescopic tube B (Item 14) into the shaking unit as far as the ring (Item 14b) and use the lock nut (Item 15) to screw it tight. This will lock both parts together.

Dismantling
- Removing the prongs from the joint Fig. 8a – 8b: Use e.g. the combination screwdriver (Fig. 2 / Item 21) to press sideways on the four color-coded areas (Item 18b). Two inner or outer prongs will be unlocked as the result and can be pulled out of the mounts (Item 18a).
- Removing the housing of the operating handle from the base tube
Fully unscrew the union nut (Fig. 5c / Item 6) and pull off the housing of the operating handle.
Removing the shaking unit from the telescopic tube B
Fig. 9: Push the lock release (Item 16) forward, fully unscrew the union nut (Item 15) and pull off the shaking unit.
Settings
- Adjusting the telescopic tubes (Fig. 10)
- Undo the telescopic tube lock nuts (Item 11 + Item 13) by turning them counter-clockwise.
- Pull out the telescopic tubes (Item 12 + Item 14) to suit the required working height.
- Secure the telescopic tube lock nuts (Item 11 + Item 13) by turning them clockwise.
- Putting on and adjusting the shoulder strap Warning! Always use a shoulder strap when working with the tool. Always switch off the tool before you release the should strap. Otherwise there is a risk of injury.

- Fig. 7: Adjust the length of the shoulder strap so that the shoulder strap holder (Item 8) is at waist level. If necessary you can adjust the position of the shoulder strap holder (Item 8) on the base tube. To do so, slacken the wing nut (Item 8a) on the shoulder strap holder, move the shoulder strap holder and then retighten the wing nut.

Fitting the battery (Fig. 13)
Press the pushlock button (C) of the rechargeable battery and push the battery
into the battery mount provided. When the battery pack is positioned as in
Fig. 13, make sure that the pushlock button latches in place! To remove the
battery pack, proceed in reverse order.
Charging the battery (Fig. 13-14)

Take the battery pack out of the equipment.
Do this by pressing the pushlock button (C). -
Check that your mains voltage is the same as that marked on the rating plate of the battery charger. Insert the power plug of the charger into the mains socket outlet. The green LED will then begin to flash.

Insert the battery pack into the battery charger.
-
In the section entitled „Charger indicator“ you will fi nd a table with an explanation of the LED indicator on the charger.
The battery pack can become a little warm during the charging. This is normal.
If the battery pack fails to charge, check: • whether there is voltage at the socket outlet • whether there is good contact at the charging contacts.
If the battery pack still fails to charge, send • the charging unit • and the battery pack to our customer service center.
To ensure that items are properly packaged and delivered when you send them to us, please contact our customer service or the point of sale at which the equipment was purchased.
When shipping or disposing of batteries and cordless tools, always ensure that they are packed individually in plastic bags to prevent short circuits and fires.
To ensure that the battery pack provides long service, you should take care to recharge it promptly.
You must recharge the battery pack when you notice that the performance of the device drops.
Never allow the battery pack to become fully discharged.
This will cause it to develop a defect.
Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 15)
Press the button for the battery capacity indicator (A). The battery capacity indicator (B) shows the charge status of the battery using 3 LEDs.
All 3 LEDs are lit:
The battery is fully charged.
2 or 1 LED(s) are lit:
The battery has an adequate remaining charge.
1 LED fl ashes:
The battery is empty, recharge the battery.
All LEDs blink:
The battery temperature is too low. Remove the battery from the equipment,
keep it at room temperature for one day. If the fault reoccurs, this means
that the rechargeable battery has undergone exhaustive discharge and is
defective. Remove the battery from the equipment. Never use or charge a
defective battery.
Operation
Please note that the statutory regulations governing noise abatement may diff
er from one location to another.
Caution! Always use the shoulder strap when working with the equipment. Always
switch off the equipment before you take off the shoulder strap.
Otherwise, there is a risk of injury.

Always adjust the shoulder strap, the shoulder strap holder and the tool to suit your requirements.

Switching On/Off (Fig. 16)
Hold the tool with both hands on the available handles and grip surfaces, pressing fi rmly enough for your thumbs to reach around the handles and grip surfaces in question.
a) If you press the On/Off switch (Item 3) for less than 2 seconds, the tool will switch on briefl y and switch off again as soon as you let go of the On/Off switch again.
b) If you press the On/Off switch (Item 3) for at least 2 seconds, the tool will switch on and remain on. To switch off , actuate the On/Off switch again. -
Speed control (Fig. 16)

The tool comes with electronic speed control that allows you to adjust the
speed of the shaking movement. To use it, turn the speed controller (Item 5)
to the desired position. Use the tool only with the speed which is actually
required and do not let it run at a speed which is faster than necessary.
1 = Minimum speed
(slow shaking movement)
7 = Maximum speed (quick shaking movement)
Working with the tool
- Hold the tool with one hand on the operating handle (Fig. 1 / Item 4) and with the other hand on the grip surface (Fig. 1 / Item 9), pressing fi rmly enough for your thumbs to reach around the operating handle and the grip surface. If required you can also use the grip surface and the battery guard handle (Fig. 1 / Item 1). Take special care in this case because you don’t have your hand near the On/Off switch and so cannot switch off the tool immediately in case of danger.
- Shake the lower and outer hanging branches from top to bottom. In this case you can usually leave the telescopic tubes retracted.
- Shake the upper branches from top to bottom.
Please note that the leverage eff ect can make the tool very heavy when the telescopic tubes are extended.
Cleaning, maintenance and ordering of spare parts
Danger!
Remove the battery pack before doing any cleaning and maintenance work.
Cleaning
- Keep the handles free of grease so that you can maintain a firm grip.
- Clean the equipment as required with a damp cloth and, if necessary, mild washing up liquid.
- Never immerse the equipment in water or other liquids in order to clean it.
- Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it with compressed air at low pressure.
- We recommend that you clean the device immediately each time you have finished using it.
- Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents; these could attack the plastic parts of the equipment. Ensure that no water can seep into the device. The ingress of water into an electric tool increases the risk of an electric shock.
Maintenance
There are no parts inside the equipment which require additional maintenance.

Storage
- Clean and maintain the equipment before putting it into storage
- Store the equipment and accessories in a dark and dry place at above-freezing temperature. The ideal storage temperature is between 5 and 30 °C. Store the electric tool in its original packaging.
Wall bracket (Fig. 17)
You can use the wall bracket (Fig. 2 / Item 20) for storage purposes.
Caution! Check that there are no electric cables or other installations
(such as water pipes) near where you want to drill the holes. Make sure that
the wall bracket is fitted securely and horizontally.
Use only suitable fasteners on a wall capable of bearing the load.

Mark the positions for the two horizontal drill holes on a wall capable of bearing the load.
The drill holes must be 90 mm apart. -
Then drill two holes in the wall and insert suitable wall plugs. Place the holes in the wall bracket over the drill holes and secure the wall bracket using suitable screws.

Push the base tube (Item 10) into the wall bracket (Item 20).
Transport
Secure the equipment during transportation in order to prevent damage or
injuries.
Disposal and recycling
The equipment is supplied in packaging to prevent it from being damaged in
transit. The raw materials in this packaging can be reused or recycled. The
equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as
metal and plastic. Never place defective equipment in your household refuse.
The equipment should be taken to a suitable collection center for proper
disposal.
If you do not know the whereabouts of such a collection point, you should ask
in your local council offices.
Troubleshooting guide
Danger!
Before troubleshooting, switch off the equipment and remove the battery.
The table below contains a list of fault symptoms and explains what you can do
to remedy the problem if your equipment fails to work properly. If the problem
still persists after working through the list, please contact your nearest
service workshop.

Important! The actual charging times may vary slightly from the stated
charging times depending on the existing battery charge.
Off| On| The battery is charged and ready for use. (READY TO GO)
The unit then changes over to gentle charging mode until the battery is fully charged.
To do this, leave the rechargeable battery on the charger for approx. 15 minutes longer.
Action:
Take the battery pack out of the charger. Disconnect the charger from the mains supply.
Flashing| Off| Adapted charging
The charger is in gentle charging mode.
For safety reasons the charging is performed less quickly and takes more time. The reasons can be:
– The rechargeable battery has not been used for a very long time.
– The battery temperature is outside the ideal range.
Action:
Wait for the charging to be completed; you can still continue to charge the battery pack.
Flashing| Flashing| Fault
Charging is no longer possible. The battery pack is defective.
Action:
Never charge a defective battery pack. Take the battery pack out of the charger.
On| On| Temperature fault
The battery pack is too hot (e.g. due to direct sunshine) or too cold (below 0° C).
Action:
Remove the battery pack and keep it at room temperature (approx. 20° C) for one day .
For EU countries only
Never place any electric power tools in your household refuse.
To comply with European Directive 2012/19/EC concerning old electric and
electronic equipment and its implementation in national laws, old electric
power tools have to be separated from other waste and disposed of in an
environment-friendly fashion, e.g. by taking to a recycling depot.
Recycling alternative to the return request:
As an alternative to returning the equipment to the manufacturer, the owner of
the electrical equipment must make sure that the equipment is properly
disposed of if he no longer wants to keep the equipment.
The old equipment can be returned to a suitable collection point that will
dispose of the equipment in accordance with the national recycling and waste
disposal regulations. This does not apply to any accessories or aids without
electrical components supplied with the old equipment.
Please note that batteries and lamps (e.g. light bulbs) must be removed from
the tool before it is disposed of.

documentation and papers accompanying products is permitted only with the

The original guarantee period remains applicable to the device even if repairs are carried out or parts are replaced. In such cases, the work performed or parts fitted will not result in an extension of the guarantee period, and no new guarantee will become active for the work performed or parts fitted.
