perle IRG5520 Routers
Product Information
The IRG5520 Series Routers are high-performance routers designed for installation and configuration purposes. This quick start guide is intended for first-time setup or product evaluation. The models covered in this guide are the IRG5520, IRG5520+, IRG5521, IRG5521+, and IRG5521+ FN. For complete details, refer to the guides available for download at www.perle.com/downloads.

Product Usage Instructions
Inserting the SIM cards:
- Use only mini-SIM (2FF) cards.
- Ensure that the power is disconnected before inserting the SIM card/s.
- Unscrew the screws and gently pry the SIM cover loose from the opening.
- Align the SIM card so that it slides into the top slot (slot#1) with the connectors facing the router’s printed circuit board. Always populate slot#1 first.
- Align the SIM cover plate and secure it with the screws.
Connecting the Antennas:
- Connect your cellular antenna to the connector Main.
- Connect the diversity antenna to the connector Diversity.
- Connect a WLAN antenna to connector WLAN-1.
- Connect a WLAN antenna to connector WLAN-2.
- Connect your GPS antenna to the GNSS connector. See Figure 2 for reference.
Connecting the Power:
Refer to Figure 2 in the user manual for wiring requirements. The colors indicated are for the Perle-supplied DC power cable.
Connecting the Network:
Once the router is powered on, it will start the activation process and attempt to connect to the cellular network. This process usually takes a few minutes. A solid green Internet LED indicates a successful connection. If not, refer to the IRG5520 Series Routers Hardware Installation Guide for further details.
Fast Setup Mode:
The Fast Setup mode allows for easy initial setup from a PC. The router is shipped in factory default mode. Follow these steps:
- Ensure that your PC is set to obtain an IP address automatically using DHCP.
- Plug your PC into the router’s Ethernet interface. When the Power LED is flashing green, use a web browser and enter http://192.168.0.1 to access your router.
- On the setup screen, select “Get Started”.
- If you select “Get Started”, fill in the required fields, apply the changes, then save and exit. The configuration changes will be immediately applied to the router. You can now access your router’s complete configuration using the supplied credentials from the WebManager.
- If you select “See Options”, a screen will appear allowing you to enable router configuration via DHCP/BOOTP (ZTP) and reboot. This will cause the router to reboot and attempt to download either a new version of firmware and/or a new configuration from a DHCP/BOOTP server.
This guide covers basic installation and configuration and is intended for
first-time setup or product evaluation. The models covered by this guide are
the IRG5520, IRG5520+, IRG5521, IRG5521+ and the IRG5521+ FN.

Getting Started
The steps for a typical installation are:
- Inserting the SIM card/s.
- Connecting antenna/s.
- Connecting the Power.
- Connecting to the Cellular Network.
- Fast Setup Mode.
Inserting the SIM cards
Use only mini-SIM (2FF) cards.
Ensure the power is disconnected before you insert the SIM card/s (see below).
- Unscrew the screws and gently pry the SIM cover loose from the opening (see below).
- Align the SIM card so that the SIM card will slide into the top slot (slot#1), ensuring that the SIM card connectors will be facing the router’s printed circuit board. Always populate slot#1 first.
- Align the SIM cover plate and secure the plate with the screws.
