SAFETY

  • By ignoring the safety instructions the manufacturer cannot be held responsible for the damage.

  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

  • Never move the appliance by pulling the cord and make sure the cord cannot become entangled.

  • In a double-insulated appliance, two insulation systems are provided instead of an earth wire. Servicing a double-insulated appliance requires extreme care and knowledge of the system, and should only be done by qualified service personnel. BEFORE THE FIRST USE

  • Take the appliance out the box. Remove the stickers, protective foil or plastic from the device and clean the appliance.(See cleaning and maintenance.)
  • Place the appliance on a flat stable surface and hold at least 30 cm. free space around it. Make sure the unit is placed in an upright position.
  • Put the power cable into the socket and turn on the appliance. (Note: Make sure the voltage which is indicated on the device matches the local voltage before connecting the device.
  • When the device is turned on for the first time, a slight odour will occur. This is normal, ensure adequate ventilation. This smell is only temporary and will soon fade.

USE

Sealing without vacuum

  • Insert the mains plug into the wall socket.
  • Press the release buttons to open the cover.
  • Make sure that the open end of the bag is clean and straightened.
  • Place the open end of the bag on the sealing strip.
  • Close the cover until the release buttons click into place.
  • Press the seal only button. The seal only indicator illuminates.
  • To interrupt the process, press the cancel button.
  • If the process is completed, the seal only indicator will go off.
  • Press the release buttons to open the cover.
  • After use, remove the mains plug from the wall socket.

Sealing with vacuum

  • Caution: Do not use this function for sealing objects with sharp points (e.g. fish bones) or hard shells (e.g. shrimps).
  • Do not use this function for sealing products containing water or other liquids.
  • Insert the mains plug into the wall socket.
  • Press the release buttons to open the cover.
  • Make sure that the open end of the bag is clean and straightened.
  • Place the open end of the bag on the sealing strip. Make sure that both sides of the bag are fully located on the vacuum surface, but do not cover the vacuum pump hole.
  • Close the cover until the release buttons click into place.
  • Press the vacuum & seal button. The vacuum & seal indicator illuminates.
  • To interrupt the process, press the cancel button.
  • If the process is completed, the vacuum & seal indicator will go off. If the vacuum is not reached, the process will stop automatically after approximately 1 minute.
  • Press the release buttons to open the cover.

Hints

  • Do not put too much food in the bag. Make sure that the open end of the bag can be easily sealed.
  • Make sure that the open end of the bag is fully dry before sealing.
  • Do not leave too much air inside the bag. Before sealing, press the bag to let air escape from the bag as much as possible.
  • Only seal one bag per minute to allow the appliance to cool down sufficiently.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Warning: Before cleaning the appliance, always switch it off, unplug it from the electricity supply and allow it to cool down completely.
  • Clean the appliance with a damp cloth. Never use harsh and abrasive cleaners, scouring pad or steel wool, which damages the device.
  • Never immerse the electrical device in water or any other liquid. The device is not dishwasher proof.
