HINKLEY 27200 Lamp Fixture
Product Information
The product is a lamp fixture designed for both indoor and outdoor use. It comes with a glass + cage assembly and requires a medium base bulb. The fixture is manufactured by HINKLEY and the model number is 27200-27204-27205. The product is available in multiple finishes, including an AB finish socket cup that is provided for optional use.
Product Usage Instructions
Indoor Fixtures
- Start by finding a clear area in which you can work.
- Connect the positive supply wire (typically black or the smooth, unmarked side of the two-conductor cord) to the positive fixture lead using an appropriately sized twist-on connector. Refer to Drawing 1 or 2 for guidance.
- Connect the negative supply wire (typically white or the ribbed, marked side of the two-conductor cord) to the negative fixture lead.
- Refer to the grounding instructions below to complete all electrical connections.
Outdoor Fixtures
- Start by finding a clear area in which you can work.
- Connect the positive supply wire (typically black or the smooth, unmarked side of the two-conductor cord) to the positive fixture lead using an appropriately sized twist-on connector. Refer to Drawing 2 or 3 for guidance.
- Connect the negative supply wire (typically white or the ribbed, marked side of the two-conductor cord) to the negative fixture lead.
- Refer to the grounding instructions below to complete all electrical connections.
Grounding Instructions
For both indoor and outdoor fixtures, please follow these grounding instructions:
- Read the wiring and grounding instructions (I.S. 18) and any additional directions provided in the user manual.
- Turn off the power supply during installation.
- If new wiring is required, consult a qualified electrician or local authorities to ensure compliance with code requirements.
- Make electrical connections from the supply wire to the fixture lead wires, following the instructions provided in the user manual (I.S. 18).
- Follow all instructions to make all necessary wiring connections.
- Refer back to the user manual to complete the installation of the fixture.
After securing the fixture to the wall, it is recommended to seal the gap
between the wall and the fixture backplate with a good quality waterproof
caulk or silicone sealant (not included). Refer to Drawing 1 for caulking
instructions.

Mounting Instructions
Item No : 27200-27204-27205
- Find a clear area in which you can work.
- Unpack fixture and glass from carton.
- Carefully review instructions prior to assembly.
- Prepare mounting strap (A) by threading the two long mounting screws (B) into the back of the universal strap – see Drawing 1.
- Be sure the holes into which the screws are threaded match the spacing of holes (D) in the back plate (E).
- Attach mounting strap (A) to junction box (J) using two screws (C). (not provided)
SAFETY WARNING: READ WIRING AND GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS (I.S. 18) AND ANY ADDITIONAL DIRECTIONS. TURN POWER SUPPLY OFF DURING INSTALLATION. IF NEW WIRING IS REQUIRED, CONSULT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN OR LOCAL AUTHORITIES FOR CODE REQUIREMENTS.
Make electrical connections from supply wire to fixture lead wires. Refer to instruction sheet (I.S. 18) and follow all instructions to make all necessary wiring connections. Then refer back to this sheet to complete installation of this fixture.
- To mount the fixture, slip the two mounting screws (B) through the two mounting holes (D) in the backplate (E) – see Drawing 1.
- While holding the fixture in place, thread the two ball knobs (F) on to the end of the mounting screws (B), and tighten.
- Glass can now be installed.
- Lamp fixture with appropriate medium base bulb (1)
- Use screws (2) to secure glass + cage (3) to fixture
- The fixture can now be powered on
Note : an extra AB finish socket cup is provided for optional use
IS200 Caulking Instructions
After securing the fixture to the wall it is recommended that the gap between
the wall and the fixture backplate be sealed on the top and both sides, with a
good quality waterproof caulk or silicone sealant (NOT INCLUDED) – see Drawing
1.
After securing the fixture in place it is recommended that the gap between the
mounting top and xture base be sealed with any good quality waterproof caulk
or silicone sealant (not included). It is also recommended that a small bead
of caulk or sealant be put under the ball knobs used to mount the fixture –
see Drawing 2.
Wiring grounding instructions

Indoor Fixtures

Outdoor Fixtures

Connect positive supply wire (A) (typically black or the smoo unmarked side of the two-conduc tor cord) to positive fixture lead (B) with an appropriately sized twist on the connector — see Drawings 2 or 3.

Connect negative supply wire (C) (typically white or the ribbed, marked side of the two-conductor cord) to negative fixture lead (D).

Cover the open end of connectors with silicone sealant to form a watertight seal.
If installing a wall mount fixture, use caulk to seal gaps between the fixture mounting plate (backplate) and the wall. This will help prevent water from entering the outlet box. If the wall surface is lap siding, use caulk and a fi xture moun ting platform especially. -

Grounding instructions
Flush Mount Fixtures
For positive grounding in a 3-wire electrical system, fasten the fixture
ground wire (E) (typically copper or green plastic coated) to the fi xture
mounting strap (M ) with the ground screw (S) – see Draw in g 1.
Note : On straps for screw-supported fixtures, first install the two
mounting screws in the strap. Any remaining tapped hole may be used for the
ground screw.
Chain Hung Fixtures
Loop fi xture ground wire (E) (typically coppe r or green plast ic coa ted)
under the head of the ground screw (S) on fi xture mounting strap (M) and
connec t to the loose end of the fixture ground wire directly to the ground
wire of the building system with appropriately sized twist-on connec tors –
see Draw in g 2.
Post-Mou nt Fixtures
Connec t fi xture ground wir e (E) (typical ly copper or green plastic coa
ted) to power supply ground with app appropriately sized twi st-on connec tor
inside the post. Cove the open end of connector with silicone sealant to form
a water ight seal – see Drawing 3
