BEFORE THE FIRST USE

  • Take the appliance and accessories out the box. Remove the stickers, protective foil or plastic from the device.
  • Put the power cable into the socket. (Note: Make sure the voltage which is indicated on the device matches the local voltage before connecting the device. Voltage 220V-240V  50/60Hz)
  • When the device is turned on for the first time, a slight odour will occur. This is normal, ensure adequate ventilation. This smell is only temporary and will soon fade.
  • Place the device in a well ventilated space.
  • Place the device on a flat stable surface and ensure a minimum of 10 cm. free space around the device.

USE

  • Slightly grease the non-stick coating of the baking plates with oil or butter.
  • Close the device and plug it into the wall outlet. Both indication lights will illuminate, indicating that the device is now preheating.
  • It will take approximately 3 minutes to reach the recommended baking temperature. The green power indication light will go off once the device is ready to use.
  • Fill each mold with batter. Make sure the batter is spread evenly in the molds.
  • Gently close the lid. Do not slam the lid down, as it may cause the mixture to run off the molds.
  • The appliance is designed to flip over, this allows you to spread the batter evenly.
  • The actual preparation time will vary depending on the type of batter you use. A general guide line is a 3 to 5 minutes preparation time.
  • To remove the waffles, always use a plastic or wooden spatula. Never use a sharp or metal object, as this will damage the non-stick coating of the baking plates.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Remove the plug from the wall outlet and allow the device to cool both halves open.
  • Clean the baking plates with a damp cloth or soft brush.
  • Clean the appliance with a damp cloth. Never use harsh and abrasive cleaners, scouring pad or steel wool, which damages the appliance.
  • Never immerse the electrical appliance in water or any other liquid. The appliance is not dishwasher proof.

This appliance should not be put into the domestic garbage at the end of its durability, but must be offered at a central point for the recycling of electric and electronic domestic appliances.
