  • Do not operate this, or any other appliance with a damaged cord.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person to avoid a hazard.
  • This ice maker must be positioned so that the plug is accessible.
  • Connect to properly polarized outlets only. No other appliance should be plugged into the same outlet. Be sure that the plug is fully inserted into the receptacle.
  • Do not run the power cord over carpeting or other heat insulators. Do not cover the cord. Keep cord away from traffic areas, and do not submerge in water.
  • We do not recommend the use of an extension cord, as it may overheat and become a risk of fire. If you must use an extension cord, use No.14AWG minimum size and rated no less than 1875 watts.
  • Unplug the ice maker before cleaning or making any repairs or servicing.
  • Exercise caution and use reasonable supervision when appliance is used near children.
  • Do not use your ice maker outdoors. Place the ice maker away from direct sunlight and make sure that there is at least 6 inches of space between the back of your unit and wall. Keep a minimum distance of 6 inches on each side of your unit free.
  • Do not tip over.
  • Make sure the ice maker is placed on a level surface, otherwise issues with operation make occur.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

UNPACKING YOUR ICE MAKER

  1. Remove the exterior and interior packaging, and then check all the accessories are included. If any parts are missing, please contact our customer service.
  2.  Remove all the tapes on the unit; take out the accessory parts inside.
  3.  Clean the interior with lukewarm water and a soft cloth.
  4.  Place your ice maker on a level counter table far from direct sunlight and other sources of heat (i.e.: stove, furnace, and radiator). Make sure that there is at least 6 inches between the back and sides of your ice maker with the wall.
  5.  Allow one hour for the refrigerant fluid to settle down before plugging your ice maker in.
  6. The power plug must be accessible directly.

WARNING: fill with potable water only. Only use drinking water.
PLUGGING IN YOUR ICE MAKER
DANGER:
Improper use of the grounded plug can result in the risk of electrical shock. If the power cord is damaged, please call customer service.

  1. This unit should be properly grounded for your safety. The power cord of this appliance is equipped with a grounding plug which mates with standard grounding wall outlets to minimize the possibility of electric shock.
  2.  Plug your appliance into an exclusive, properly installed, grounding wall outlet. Do not under any circumstances; damage the grounding means of the plug. Any questions concerning power and/or grounding should be directed toward a certified electrician.
  3. This appliance requires a standard 110-120Volt, 60Hz electrical outlet.

CLEANING YOUR ICE MAKER BEFORE FIRST USE

It is highly recommended to run the self-cleaning function before first use, or if the ice maker hasn’t been used in over 24 hours. Before operating the ice maker, follow these cleaning instructions.

  1. Check to make sure the water drain cap is inserted properly (see parts list for details on where the water drain cap is placed). If it is not inserted properly, the cleaning function will not work properly.
  2.  Press the ICE/CLEAN button for 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes white.
  3.  The self-cleaning function will run for 15 minutes and automatically stop at the end of the cycle. If you press the ICE/CLEAN button at any point during the cleaning process, it will end immediately.
  4. After the self-cleaning process, remove the top cover and the ice basket, rinse the water tank and the secondary water tank.
  5. Move the ice maker to the edge of your countertop and make sure it is steady in place. Then take a large bowl or container and place it under the drain before removing the drain cap from the bottom of the ice maker.newair NIM026MBN0 Countertop Nugget Ice Maker - bottom
  6. Let the dirty water completely drain out before reinserting the drain cap.

OPERATING YOUR ICE MAKER

When you are ready to make your first batch of ice, follow these instructions:

  1. Take out the ice basket and pour in the drinking water until your reach the maximum fill line.newair NIM026MBN0 Countertop Nugget Ice Maker - ICE MAKER
  2. Put the ice basket back in and close the lid.
  3. Plug in the ice maker. The ICE/CLEAN button will light up red.
  4. Press the ICE/CLEAN button once and the ice maker will start to make ice.
  5. Press the ICE/CLEAN button for 5 seconds and the ice maker will start the self-cleaning process.

Notes:

  • If the ADD WATER indicator light turns on and the machine stops working, the ice maker does not have enough water to product more ice. Turn off the ice maker, add water, and turn on the ice maker to restart the ice making process. It may take the compressor 3 minutes to start up again once the ice maker has been restarted.
    When the ice basket is full of ice, it will automatically stop working. The ICE FULL indicator light will turn on, and the ICE/CLEAN indicator light will turn white. After the ice is removed from the ice basket, the ice maker will start

  • working automatically.

Warning:

  • Change the water in the water tank every 24 hours to ensure a good hygiene level. If you don’t plan on using the ice maker the next day, drain out all the water & dry the water tank.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Before using your ice maker, it is strongly recommended to clean it thoroughly. Read the “Cleaning Your Ice Maker Before First Use” for detailed instructions on how to clean your ice maker after unpacking it.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE
It is recommended to deeply clean your ice maker once every 9 months, or more frequently if you live in an area with hard water or high humidity.
Follow these cleaning instructions to make sure your ice maker is clear of mineral deposits and the longevity of your ice maker is maintained.
Cleaning Solution
30 ounces of water
3 ounces of distilled white vinegar
Instructions

  1. Pour the solution into the water tank and up to the Maximum water line.
  2.  Plug in the Nugget ice maker and hold the ICE/CLEAN button for 5 seconds to start the 15-minute cleaning process.
  3.  When the ICE/CLEAN indicator light turns off, remove the drain cap, and drain out the water into a sink.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 with fresh water for two more cycles or until all the cleaning solution is gone.
  5. Replace the drain cap.
  6.  When completed, fill the unit with fresh water and press the ICE/CLEAN button to start the ice making process.

DISPOSING YOUR ICE MAKER
Dispose of this ice maker’s material in accordance with national regulations.

LIMITED MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY

This appliance is covered by a limited manufacturer’s warranty. For one year from the original date of purchase, the manufacturer will repair or replace any parts of this appliance that prove to be defective in materials and workmanship, provided the  appliance has been used under normal operating conditions as intended by the manufacturer.
Warranty Terms:
During the first year, any components of this appliance found to be defective due to materials or workmanship will be repaired or replaced, at the manufacturer’s discretion, at no charge to the original purchaser. The purchaser will be responsible for any removal or transportation costs.
Warranty Exclusions:
The warranty will not apply if damage is caused by any of the following:

  • Power failure
  • Damage in transit or when moving the appliance
  • proper power supply such as low voltage, defective household wiring or inadequate fuses
  •  Accident, alteration, misuse or abuse of the appliance such as using nonapproved accessories, inadequate air circulation in the room or abnormal operating conditions (extreme temperatures)
  • Use in commercial or industrial applications
  • Use of force or damage caused by external influences
  •  Partially or completely dismantled appliances
  • Excess wear and tear by the user

Obtaining Service:
When making a warranty claim, please have the original bill of purchase with the purchase date available. Once confirmed that your appliance is eligible for warranty service, all repairs will be performed by a Newari™ authorized repair facility. The purchaser will be responsible for any removal or transportation costs. Replacement parts and/or units will be new, re- manufactured or refurbished and is subject to the manufacturer’s discretion.
