– 7/16” Socket| – 7/16” Wrench

– 1/2” Wrench

We highly recommend a complete installation for test fit prior to paint. The test fit is also important to test for handlebar clearance that may need to be adjusted or replaced.

Verify all the contents of the Fairing Fit Kit (FIG 1):

i. Hardware Bag “B” – Windshield

iii. Hardware Bag “D” – Fairing to Neck
iv. Hardware Bag “E” – Lower Support to Fairing
v. Hardware Bag “F” – Neck to Frame
vi. Hardware Bag “G” – Lower Bracket to Frame & Neck
vii. Hardware Bag “H” – Lower Support to Frame
h. Headlight Cover Kit

i. FXRP 9” Dark Smoke NOTE: Heritage/Fat Boy/Slim/Deluxe Softail Fitment. If retaining the use of fork leg cans, fiberglass trimming of the bottom opening is required. Clearance to the rear cut of the vents should also be verified. Be sure to wrap and protect all painted surfaces during fit up. -
Cover the front fender to help protect against damage (FIG 2).

Disconnect negative battery cable.

Remove windshield if equipped.

Remove fairing if equipped.

Remove headlight and mount (FIG 3).
-
Remove front fuel tank bolt (FIG 4).

Remove front motor mount bolts and using Hardware Bag “G”, install the Lower Bracket to the frame (FIG 5).

Using Hardware Bag “F”&”G” install the Neck Bracket with upper bolt through fuel tank (FIG 6). Lower bolt goes through the Lower Bracket. Hardware can be snug, but will be torqued later.

Using Hardware Bag “D” install Fairing (FIG 7) and Fairing Mount Adapter to the Neck Bracket (FIG 8). Position the Fairing Mount Adapter so the notch is at the 6 o’clock position. Snug bolts down, still allowing for side-to-side adjustments.

Using Hardware Bag “E”&”H” install the Lower Support. The mounting plates at the ends should be inside the fairing, not underneath (FIG 9).

Tighten all loosely installed hardware in order to torque values listed:
a. Hardware Bag “F”&”G” – 3/8” Hardware – Neck & Lower Bracket to Frame – 18 ft-lbs.
b. Hardware Bag “H” – 5/16” Hardware – Lower Support to Frame – 13 ft-lbs.
c. Hardware Bag “E” – 1/4” Hardware – Lower Support to Fairing – 45 in-lbs.
d. Hardware Bag “D” – 3/8” Hardware – Fairing to Neck – 18 ft-lbs. -
Using Hardware Bag “C” install 7” Headlight Ring Mount to Fairing Mount Adapter 45 in-lbs positioning the threaded tab at 6 o’clock (FIG 10) If not using trim ring, remove screw from threaded tab.

Remove the headlight retaining ring (FIG 11), install the headlight, and reinstall the retaining ring (FIG 12).
NOTE: Headlight adjustment screws with springs may require thread locking compound after adjustments are made. -
Using Hardware Bag “B” insert the seven well nuts into the fairing and install your new Flare™ Windshield torquing screws to 10 in-lbs (FIG 13).

Refer to instructions in FXR Fairing Headlight Cover Kit (white box) for Cover install.
