Notes on battery charging:

• To charge the internal battery, use USB adapter at normal temperature.
• Use the original magnetic USB data cable and USB adapter only, otherwise smoke or fire may result.
• When charging the battery, if any strange odor or high heat is noted, please immediately pull the plug from the earpiece and from the outlet.
• Disconnect the headset when charging is complete. Do not leave the headset connected via USB long after the charging is completed. Such condition may cause smoking/ignition.
• Do NOT lick, bite or put the product into the mouth. Such act may result in serious injuries/accidents. Take utmost caution around children.

2. It could connect with two devices simultaneously (such as a cell phone and a two-way radio). The user could listen to two devices simultaneously and talk to each device separately for confidential concern.

Key Definitions

• Power on: Press and hold the “M key” for 1 second until the light is on.
• Power off: In power on state, press and hold “Mkey” and “PTT key” together for 2.5 seconds until the light is off.
• Enter pairing mode: In power off state, press and hold “M key” for 5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes red and blue alternately.
• Answer the phone: Short press the “M key” to answer the phone.
• Reject an incoming call: Double press the “M key” within 1 second to reject the incoming call.
• Hang up: During a call, double press the “M key” within 1 second to hang up.
• PT control: After the two-way radio is turned on and connected to the adapter, press and hold the “PTT key” or ‘M key” to talk to radio peers, release the key to listen to voice from radio peers.
• Turn up the volume: Press and hold the ” volume+ key” to continuously turn up the volume when you are listening to music. During phone call or radio talk, press the “volume + key” once to turn up the volume by one grid.
• Turn down the volume: Press and hold the “volume- key” and to turn down the volume when you are listening to music. During phone call or radio talk, press the “volume – key” once to turn down the volume by one grid.
• Clear pairing: Disconnect any Bluetooth connection. In power on state, press and hold “PTT key” and “volume- key” for 5 seconds, until the red light flashes twice and shut down. When only one cell phone is connected and a the two-way radio adapter is not connected, the following functions can also be enabled:
• Last number redial: Double press the “volume- key” of DP8 in standby mode, then the cell phone will dial the last number. (Provided that the cell phone supports this).
• Voice dial: In standby mode, double press “volume + key” to start the phone voice dialing function, (Provided that the phone support this).
• Play music: In standby mode and when the Bluetooth adapter is not connected, short press the “M key” once to play music.
• Music play/pause: In music play mode and the Bluetooth adapter is not connected, briefly press the “M key” once to play music, and then briefly press the “M key” once to pause music.
• Music forward: In music mode short press the “volume + key” once to skip the music forward.
• Music backward: In music mode short press once the “volume – key” to skip the music backward.

Pairing with audio device

Pairing with cell phones:

1. Place the DP8 with the cell phone in a visible area within 30cm range.
2. Make sure the DP8 is in power off state.
3. Press and hold the “M key” for 5 seconds, when the red and blue LED flashes alternately, release the button, the DP8 enters the pairing state.
4. Turn on the cell phone Bluetooth and look for “DP8 v. xx” related Bluetooth Headset devices, click “connect” to pair.

Notes: If the DP8 was never paired to any devices or all the pairing information was cleared, it will enter pairing state when it is powered on.

Pairing with two-way radio Bluetooth adapters:

1. Place the DP8 with the Bluetooth adapters in a visible area within 30cm range.
2. When the DP8 is turned off, press and hold the “M key” for 5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes red and blue alternately, DP8 enters the pairing state.
3. Install the two-way radio BT adapter on the two-way radio.
4. Press and hold the “PTT key” on Bluetooth adapters, and then turn the BT adapters switch to the “on” side
5. Keep holding the “PTT key” for about 5 seconds until the LED indicator of the PTT key flashes red and blue alternately, release the button to enter the pairing state.
6. After a short while, both the LED indicator of the DP8 and the Bluetooth adapter should flash blue slowly if they are successfully paired.

Notes:

1. The two Bluetooth devices only need to be paired once when they are used for the first time. They have memory function, which can automatically identify and pair previously connected devices when used next time.
2. Turn Bluetooth adapter switch to “on” to enable Bluetooth communications. Turn Bluetooth adapter switch to “off” to disable Bluetooth communications. By this way, you do not need to remove the adapters from radios frequently.
3. One phone and one two-way radio can be connected at the same time:
4. After the DP8 is successfully paired with the cell phone, turn off the Bluetooth of the cell phone and the DP8.
5. Pair the DP8 with the two-way radio adapter. After successful pairing with the two-way radio adapters, turn on the Bluetooth of the cell phone.

When both Bluetooth devices are connected, the DP8 can be used with the cell phone and two-way radio at the same time.

Startup sequence

1. Turn on Bluetooth of the two-way radio adapter and cell phone first, and then power on the DP8. After all the three devices are on, they will connect automatically in a short moment;
2. If the two-way radio adapter is not connected, you can short press the PTT key on the Bluetooth adapter
3. If the cell phone is not connected, you might enter the Bluetooth setting interface of the cell phone and connect it manually.

Charge the headset via Magnetic USB cable

1. Firstly, attach the magnetic end to the charging interface of the DP8.
2. Secondly, connect the USB cable to the original 5V power adapter or the USB interface of the computer.

When it is being charged, the red light flashes slowly. When the red light is solid on, it is fully charged.

Firmware update
Before firmware update, install the corresponding upgrade software on the computer.

Please refer to the following steps for upgrading:

1. Power off the DP8, and then connect the D8 to the computer by the original magnetic USB cable.
2. Press and hold the “M key” and “Volume + key” together for 3 seconds until the red light is off.
3. The upgrade software can then detect the DP8. Simply follow the instructions on the computer screen, you can easily complete the upgrade step by step.

FAQ

1. Cannot power on
   The battery power level may be too low. Please charge it for 3-4 hours and then turn it on.

2. No sound
   Please check if the volume is too low.

3. Disconnected from cell phones
   Make sure if the battery power is too low. If not, is the distance between the DP8 and the cell phone is over 10m? Or is there any obstacles like metals or water in between that absorb frequency signals?

4. Cannot pair with phones
   Clear all pairing information according to the user manual, and then put the DP8 and cell phone together within 1m and try to pair again. Re-pair and confirm that the password is “0000”

5. The DP8 is frequently disconnected or has noise after being connected to the cell phone.

6. The power of the DP8 might be insufficient, so it is necessary to charge it as soon as possible; A beep will be heard when it is in low battery status.

7. Turn off the DP8, and wait for about 20 seconds and then turn it on again so that it can automatically reconnect with the cell phone and the Bluetooth two-way radio adapter.

8. Make sure that the two devices are within working distance and there is no heavy obstacles in between.

9. Bluetooth is connected, but I can’t listen to music
   If the DP8 is connected with the Bluetooth two-way radio adapter, the music play function of the cell phone is automatically disabled. In case you can’t listen to music even when one cell phone is connected to the DP8 alone, please check the Bluetooth setting and make sure that the Bluetooth (A2DP) multimedia channel is
   connected successfully.

10. How to avoid noise
    The noise in DP8 originates from many factors. Most of the reasons are caused by radio signal interference between the two-way radio and the DP8. To improve the call performance, you should make sure that there is no radio signal interference between the cell phone and the DP8. We have the following suggestions for your reference:

11. Keep the wearing direction of the DP8 or the two-way radio and cell phones on the same side of the body.

12. Avoid putting the cell phone in the bag (canvas bag will ca- use less obstruction, leather bag or briefcase might produce more problem).

13. How to adjust the DP8 volume?
    When talking or listening to music, increase the volume on the cell phone. or adjust the volume through the volume up and down buttons on the DP8. You could also bend the ear hook slightly to adjust the DP8 volume physically.

14. Unable to reconnect or automatically connect with the cell phone

15. Firstly, clear all pairing information according to the instructions in this manual, and then delete all pairing on your cell phone.

16. Turn off the cell phone, then restart the cell phone, pair with the DP8 after restarting.

17. Set the cell phone option to “default / trust / verify / allow automatic connection / continuously visible / discoverable” and make sure quiet mode /vibration mode is off Because sometimes the vibration pulse of the cell phone will interfere with the Bluetooth RF Signal), and then pair and connect your cell phone again.

18. Can use it while it is being charged?
    For your safety, please do not use the product when it is being charged.

19. System halted
    The system halts when strong radio frequency interference occurs. Like near high-power TV transmitting tower, GSM base station, or airport radar, the system would crash.Just restart it after leaving the Interference environments.

20. How to exit accidental factory test or USB upgrade mode by wrong operation?
    If the DP8 enters the test mode accidentally, the indicator light flashes abnormally, and the DP8 cannot be turned on. Attach the magnetic USB data cable to the DP8 and connect it to the power supply or PC USB port. Done. If above can’t solve your problem, please send back the product to our after- sales service department for help.
