Product Usage Instructions

Determine the appropriate size of the air admittance valve needed for your plumbing system based on the DFU rating of the stack and branch.

Ensure that the valve housing is made of ABS (white) and the sealing member is made of elastomer.

Choose the appropriate DWV adapter based on your requirements:

Use the ABS adapter (122AB or 122AC) for ABS pipes.

Use the PVC adapter (122PB or 122PC) for PVC pipes.
Connect the air admittance valve to the pipe: -
If using a 1-1/2″ pipe, connect it directly to the valve.

If using a 2″ pipe, use the provided adapter to connect it to the valve.

Ensure that the thread size of the valve is 2″ NPT.

Install the valve at the desired location in your plumbing system, following local plumbing codes and standards.

Verify that the valve is certified by ASSE to 1050 & 1051 and listed by IAPMO.

Check that the adapters conform to ASTM D2661/D2665 standards.

Make sure that the valve conforms to IPC 2021 918.1, IRC 2021 P3114.1, and UPC 2021 section 301.3.

SPECIFICATION
Sioux Chief 250 series TurboVent air-admittance valve shall be installed as vent terminal for secondary venting within the plumbing system. Valve shall connect to DWV system via Sch. 40 adapter, and be accessible after installation. Valve shall incorporate an actuating device which spins upon activation to keep the sealing surface clean and free of debris. During drainage, actuating device shall raise under negative line pressure to allow optimal air flow into the DWV system. Valve shall provide a positive seal at 0 psi and under any positive line pressure to prevent sewer gasses from entering the living space.
