Please read the entire Operating Instructions, in particular the safety instructions, before operating the PANTABOX.
These Operating Instructions are an integral part of the product and, therefore, must remain with the end customer. These instructions must be passed on with the product in the event of transfer of the PANTABOX to a third party.
INRO Elektrotechnik GmbH does not assume any liability or warranty for any damages caused by failure to comply with these Operating Instructions.

These Operating Instructions apply to the PANTABOX (hereinafter also referred to as “the device”), which consists of:

[1.1] Intended Use
This device is designed to charge electric vehicles with a built-in vehicle- side socket type 2 according to IEC 62196. Use this device only for charging vehicles equipped with such a type 2 socket.
Only use this device as described in these Operating Instructions. Any other, unintended use can result in personal injury and/or property damage. The manufacturer shall not be liable in the event of any improper use. Utilise accessories and spare parts  authorised by the manufacturer. Utilising any accessories and spare parts other than those authorised constitutes improper use.
This device is intended for private and public use.

[1.3] Safety Instructions
To avoid potential damages, read and observe the instructions.

• Never disconnect live sockets and plugs; disconnecting live connectors can result in electric sparks, which lead to excessive wear and tear and, thus, to a reduced service life.

• Do not open the casing. Only licensed electricians may open the casing of the PANTABOX Docking Station upon disconnecting the cords from mains and removing the Mobile Charging Unit. Do not attempt to tamper with or modify any components. Touching live electrical parts will result in acute life-threatening injuries due to elect- ric shock.

• Before using the device, always check the device itself and the relevant socket for defects. Do not use defective or damaged devices and accessories. Contact the manufacturer of this product in the event of a defect.

• Should you find any damage to the device or relevant accessories during operation, the device must be taken off the mains immediately by switching off the house circuit breaker.

• Only use adapters and accessories authorised by the manufacturer.

• This device may only be used with PANTABOX original software.

• The PANTABOX Adapter and the PANTABOX Docking Station may exclusively be used for supplying power to the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit.

• The PANTABOX Adapters must not be connected to the mains if no PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit is connected.

• Only original parts and accessories may be used in connection with the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit; in particular, thirdparty extension cords, cable drums, travel adapters, clock timers, and adapter cords may not be used for charging.

• Do not use the device near oxidising, combustible, or explosive liquids and gases; using the device can cause electric sparks, which can result in explosions where an explosive atmosphere is present.

• Do not use the device near combustible or easily inflammable materials.

• Only use the device under the listed am- bient conditions.

• Ensure that people with limited physical, sensory or mental capacities as well as people who do not have sufficient experience or relevant knowledge for using the device safely are supervised when using the device. Do not allow children to play with the device.

• Installation of the PANTABOX Docking Station may only be performed while disconnected from power. Please note the 5 security rules:
  1. Switch off the power supply
  2. Secure the power supply against being 2.
  2. switched on
  3. Check that the power is OFF
  4. Earth and short-circuit the docking
  4. station
  5. Cover or shield any adjacent live parts

• Only use the device with a mains supply installed, earthed, and – except for in an IT network – supplied with a neutral conductor compliant to effective national guidelines. The preceding installation must be supplied with overload and short-circuit protection that is appropriately sized and must be suitable for continuous operation. The power supply must feature at least a type A residual current circuit breaker (RCD).

• Only use the device if the mains supply has been secured appropriately.

• The electrical installation must be compliant with the national specifications for continuous operation.

• Never supply charging current at a rate higher than what the upstream mains supply and/or the connector is/are rated for.

• The device’s electrical connection data need to match those of the electrical grid.

• Please observe the relevant effective national specifications for operation, functional testing, repair, and service and maintenance of electric devices.

• Avoid bending and pinching the charging cords; that can result in damages.

• Do not subject the device to direct sun- shine for a prolonged period of time.

• After removing an adapter cable from the PANTABOX or the PANTABOX from the Docking Station, do not touch the contacts of the connector of the PANTABOX. These may be hot.

• Do not use the device with a damaged or defective electric vehicle.

• Do not use the device in the event of unusual electrical noise. Contact the manufacturer in such a case.

• Do not pull the plug nor the connector by the cord, but rather directly by the plug or connector.

• Do not carry around the device by the charging cord nor the adapter cord.

• The plug, connector, and adapter must always be connected properly. The locking collar at the port of the power grid adapters always needs to engage fully – this also applies to the protective cap when being placed after use.

• The PANTABOX Adapter always needs to engage fully.

• To protect the PANTABOX Adapters from pinch and abrasion, the bayonet fitting of the adapter connector may only be coupled via the designated handle area.

• To protect the PANTABOX Docking Station from pinch and abrasion, only use the locking lever via the designated handle area.

• Do not run over the device and the accessories.

• Always pull both the charger plug connector and the vehicle-side connector before cleaning the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit; only clean it externally and with a dry cloth. Always keep the plug and connectors, in particular the contacts, clean and dry and protect them against moisture and dirt. Contacts must not be lubricated, greased nor treated with contact spray. Only clean the PANTABOX Docking Station after capping the plug with its protective cover; only clean it externally and with a dry cloth. The device must be removed from the mains by switching it off before being cleaned. Contacts must not be lubricated, greased nor treated with contact spray.

• Protect your device from stagnant water, dust, aggressive liquids and acrid fumes. Operate the device with particular caution outdoors when it is raining or snowing to prevent ingress of water.

• The device may not come in contact with aggressive chemical substances.

• Do not dip your device under water.

• Protect your device from bedewing.

• To safeguard the tightness of the device, ensure that the rubber stoppers are inserted at the two cable glands, at the emergency release cover as well as at the mounting screws of the Docking Station when mounting the PANTABOX Docking Station.

• Do not remove any markings such as type plates, safety symbols, and capacity specifications.

• Respect the plug sequence of the individual parts.

• Protect the plugs and connectors, in particular the contacts, against moisture and dirt. Please note that the adapters must be fitted with their protective caps when they are not in use and that the locking lever of the Docking Station must always be fully engaged both during operation and when the Mobile Charging Unit is not connected.

• Consult with your doctor and the manufacturer of your medical device such as pace makers, hearing aids, implants with electronic controls etc. if their use could be affected through the use of the device.

•  The device is not a toy.

• The charging cord must not be subject to tension while charging.

• Breaking of the rated emergency release break point of PANTABOX Docking Station can result in sharp edges in that area of the case.

• Take care that the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit does not fall when connecting to and disconnecting from the PANTABOX Docking Station.

• Do not place anything on top of the PANTABOX Docking Station.

• The PANTABOX Docking Station may only be used as a hold for the Mobile Charging Unit; any other objects may not be mounted on it.

• Do not use the device if any wear and tear or corrosion becomes visible.

• Do not look directly into the LEDs from a short distance; this can lead to eye injury.

• Roll up the charging cord after use and sa- fely stow away the device, so that it cannot become a tripping hazard.

• Please observe the instructions in the installation manual of the PANTABOX Docking Station and ensure it is safely mounted on the wall.

[1.4] Requirements for the sockets used
The sockets used must be undamaged and dry and connected correctly.
[1.5] Requirements for the electric installation
The following requirements for the electric installation must be met, so that the Docking Station can be mounted:

• Max. cross section of the mains supply cable: 6 mm²
• Max. protection of the mains supply cable: 16 A, protection is to be adapted to mains supply cable
• Residual current circuit breaker: Type A with IΔn =30 mA, subject to national specifications
• Rated voltage: 230/400 V
• Rated frequency: 50 Hz

Compulsory registration or permit requirement for chargers According to § 19 NAV, registration of electrical equipment is compulsory in Germany.
[1.6] Requirements for the qualification of electricians
Only certified electricians may perform mounting, commissioning, and dismounting of the Docking Station.
A certified electrician is a person who has the technical training, skills, and expertise as well as knowledge of the relevant standards to assess the task assigned and to identify potential risks.
National guidelines regarding security and prevention of accidents and effective standards and laws must be observed.
[1.7] Instructions for testing the device
Due to device-side overvoltage protection features, the testing voltage for insulation resistance measurement must be reduced to 250 V DC. When testing, please note that the insulation resistance must be measured both on the mains side and on the vehicle side due to the installed mains relay.
The applicable national regulations must be observed for the test.
Testing must comply with effective national specifications.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

[2.1] Functions

The PANTABOX is the charging solution for your electric vehicle: As a stationary wallbox at your home or mobile on the road all over Europe.
With its available adapters, the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit can be used throughout Europe offering you the possibility to charge your electric vehicle at all standard domestic and industrial sockets with a type 2 plug.
You prefer charging at home?
Combined with the PANTABOX Docking Station, the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit becomes a sophisticated stationary wallbox charger.
The associated app not only allows firmware updates per Bluetooth and WLAN, but also controlling your very charging process.
You can plan when and how to charge, access statistical data of your charging processes and manage access rights to your PANTABOX.

[2.1.1] PANTABOX operation

The PANTABOX can be used in various situations:
The PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit can either be used with any correctly installed sockets providing 6 – 16 A (1- and 3-phased) or be combined with the PANTABOX Docking Station to tap the home mains supply directly.
You will find the exact specifications in Chapter 1.4 and 1.5.
The PANTABOX Adapters offer various options for charging depending on the charging site:
With the 3-phase CEE 16 adapter, the maximum charging capacity is 11 kW.

[2.4] Adapters
To facilitate charging with the PANTABOX all over Europe there are various adapters for your PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit. The following adapters are currently available; the range of adapters is continuously expanded. Please refer to pantabox.de for finding the full product range.

Select the lowest charging current value when charging at unfamiliar sockets.

As a mobile companion, the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit combines with the PANTABOX Adapters to allow you to charge your vehicle with type 2 plugs all over Europe. Connect one of the available adapters with the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit in a few quick steps and start charging immediately.
The LED bar displays the current status of your PANTABOX. The PANTABOX allows you to establish access restrictions. Corresponding authentication can then be done conveniently via app, smartphone, or RFID card.

[2.5.1.2] Error messages
The PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit displays possible error causes via the LED bar.
The app will give detailed information on the errors.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
Error source: Installation / Socket| • PE identification has failed.
• The mains voltage is too high.
• The mains voltage is too low.
• The adapter was not identified appropriately.
• The plug-internal temperature is too high.
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS| • Disconnect the adapter from the power supply and reconnect it.
• Have the electric installation checked out.
• Should you be in an IT supply, use the Earth-OFF mode.
| The two right LEDs light up red.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
Error source: vehicle| • The residual current circuit breaker was tripped.
•  The electric vehicle is trying to charge at a higher current than permissible.
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS| • Disconnect the type 2 plug from the vehicle and reconnect it.
• Check the error messages of your vehicle.
| The 4 left LEDs light up red.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
Error source: Excessive temperature| •  The temperature inside the PANTABOX exceeds the designated limit.
The PANTABOX has attempted derating the charging capacity and the temperature is still too high.
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS| • Disconnect the type 2 plug from the vehicle.
• Disconnect the PANTABOX from mains.
• Let the PANTABOX cool down by placing it e.g. in the shade.
| The right 4 LEDs light up red.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
Error source: Internal error| • Internal electronic error.
• Failed self-test.
• Failed firmware update.
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS| • Disconnect the type 2 plug from the vehicle.
• Disconnect the PANTABOX from mains and connect the adapter again.
• Contact customer service.
| No LED lights up.
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
Error source: Power supply| • Check if the mains plug is connected correctly.
•  Check if the PANTABOX Adapter is connected to the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit correctly.
•  Check if the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit is connected to the PANTABOX Docking Station correctly.
• Check the circuit breaker of the house installation.

The PANTABOX Docking Station turns the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit into a full wallbox:
Just place the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit in the PANTABOX Docking Station and lock it in by closing the release lever.
The PANTABOX Docking Station is protected against splash water by the protective cap when the release lever is locked and is, therefore, perfectly suitable for your garage or carport.

The PANTABOX Docking Station provides a rotary switch for adapting the current and the phase assignment to that of the electric installation.

Remove all packaging, check if the consignment is complete and look for damages.

[3.1] Using the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit

The PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit allows you to charge at every socket as long as it meets the requirements stipulated in Chapter 1 “Safety”. Various adapters enable you to charge your electric vehicle conveniently and safely according to the respective country and power supply.

[3.1.1] Connecting the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit with the adapter and power supply

Fire Hazard / Risk of injuries
Charging at an electric installation improperly installed can lead to fire. Check if the electric installation is suitable for charging with the PANTABOX and observe the requirements stipulated in Chapter 1.

1. Select the line adapter from the adapters supplied that corresponds to your power supply.

2. Remove the protective cap from the line adapter by turning the locking collar clockwise 1.

3. Remove the protective cap 2.

4. Attach the adapter to the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit.
   4.1 Turn the adapter plug such that the line marking and the dot marking of the locking collar and the adapter plug respectively face each other and make sure that the INRO logo faces to the front 1.
   4. 2 From this position, push the adapter onto the connector of the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit 2.
   4.3 Turn the front locking collar of the adapter plug right (clockwise) 3.
   4. 4 You will hear a “click” that shows that the adapter is attached to the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit 4.
   

5.  Plug the mains-connection side of the adapter into the socket corresponding to the adapter.

The PANTABOX will now run a self-test. The PANTABOX LEDs will pulsate in white for the duration of the self-test.

Should the self-test fail, an error message will be displayed. Chapter 2.5.1.2 “Error messages” provides further information on error messages. The app provides detailedinformation on the errors.
The PANTABOX is ready for charging now. The two centre LEDs of the PANTABOX will light up green permanently to show the status “Ready for charging”.

In the event that you have selected a preset timed charging in the app or have set up access restrictions, the status displayed may be different.
Please refer to Chapter 3.3 “Charging with PANTABOX” for a description of the charging process.

[3.1.2] Disconnecting the lineadapter from the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit

1. Disconnect the power supply by pulling the plug from the socket.
2. Rotate the front ripped part of the adapter plug counterclockwise such that the dot markings on both the adapter and the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit face each other 1 .
3. Pull the adapter plug from the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit 2.
4. Place the supplied protective cap on both the adapter plug and the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit 3.

[3.2] Operating the PANTABOX Docking Station

The PANTABOX Docking Station allows you to use your PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit like a wallbox: It takes but one step to have a stationary charging solution which even protects the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit from theft with configurable locking.
[3.2.1] Mounting the PANTABOX Docking Station on the wall

[3.2.2] Connecting the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit with the PANTABOX Docking Station
The PANTABOX Docking Station enables you to safely fasten the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit on the wall.

Risk of injuries / Risk of crushing hands
Operating the release lever of the PANTABOX Docking Station can lead to fingers being crushed. Operate the release lever cautiously.

1. Fully unlock the release lever on the PANTABOX Docking Station 1 .

2. Place the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit on the guide pins of the docking station and slide the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit upwards into the PANTABOX Docking Station 2.
   Ensure that the protective cover is open (folded back), see arrow 3.

3.  Fully engage the release lever on the PANTABOX Docking Station. The PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit is pulled upwards and locked in the PANTABOX Docking Station 4.
   Your PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit is attached to the PANTABOX Docking Station now.

Then the PANTABOX will carry out a self-test. The PANTABOX LEDs will pulsate in white slowly for the duration of the self-test.

Should the self-test fail, an error message will be displayed. Please refer to Chapter 2.5.1.2 “Error messages” for more information on error messages. The app provides detailed information on the error messages. The PANTABOX is ready for charging now.
The two centre LEDs of the PANTABOX light up green permanently to indicate the status “Ready for charging”.

In the event that you have preset timed charging in the app, have set up access restriction, have already connected the vehicle or if there is no pairing with the Docking Station, the status displayed may be different.
For a description of the charging process, go to chapter 3.3.
[3.2.2.1] Pairing the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit with the PANTABOX Docking Station (initial use)
Before using the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit in a PANTABOX Docking Station for the first time, “pairing” is necessary to ensure that this PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit is authorized to charge at this PANTABOX Docking Station.

This is how to do the pairing:

1.  Attach the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit to the PANTABOX Docking Station as described above.
2. The PANTABOX now carries out a self-test. The LEDs on the PANTABOX slowly pulse in white for the duration of the self-test.

2.1 When used for the fi rst time, the status display „Mobile Charging Unit not paired“ is shown by the two centre LEDs lighting up yellow and an acoustic signal.

3. Tap the PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station to the RFID contact area of the PANTABOX.
   3.1 When a card has been recognized, the LEDs will go out and there will be an acoustic signal.

Remove the PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station from the PANTABOX.

That PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit is added to the whitelist of authorized units and can be used for charging.
[3.2.2.2] Resetting the PANTABOX Docking Station (Unpairing of all PANTABOX Mobile Charging Units)
In order to unpair all PANTABOX Mobile Charging Units, you can reset the PANTABOX Docking Station.

1.  Tap the PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station to the PANTABOX RFID contact area for 5-10 seconds 1.
2. Remove the PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station from the PANTABOX and wait 1-5 seconds 2.
3. Tap the PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station to the PANTABOX RFID contact area for 5-10 seconds again 3. All LEDs flash white as a warning incl. an acoustic signal.
4. Remove the PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station from the PANTABOX 4.

Once you repeat the procedure a second time, all LEDs will be flashing white if the card has been identified properly, and the reset will start. Once you repeat the procedure a second time, If the reset was successful, the status display „Mobile Charging Unit not paired“ is shown by the two centre LEDs lighting up yellow incl. an acoustic signal.

[3.2.3] Removing the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit from the PANTABOX Docking Station
If you have not locked the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit in the PANTABOX Docking Station, you can easily remove it from the PANTABOX Docking Station.

Operating the release lever of the PANTABOX Docking Station can lead to fingers being crushed. Operate the release lever cautiously.

1. Hold the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit tight with one hand.
2. Fully open the release lever of PANTABOX Docking Station with the other hand 1.
3.  Pull the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit downwards 2 and pull it towards you from PANTABOX Docking Station 3.
4.  Fully engage the release lever of the PANTABOX Docking Station 4.

Your PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit has now been detached from the Docking Station and can be used mobile.

In order to prevent moisture and dirt from entering, the release lever of the PANTABOX Docking Station must always be engaged whenever there is no PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit attached.
[3.2.4] Locking and unlocking the PANTABOX Docking Station
The locking feature protects your PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit against theft and unauthorized removal of the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit from the PANTABOX Docking Station. Locking and unlocking can be configured in the app or with the  PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station.
The automatic locking feature (configurable in the app) locks your PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit in the PANTABOX Docking Station whenever it is attached.
Should the feature not be activated yet, you can lock the PANTABOX with the PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station or the app any time.
[3.2.4.1] Locking the PANTABOX Docking Station

1. Follow the instructions in your app to set automatic and manual locking.
   OR
   1. Tap your PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station to the RFID contact area of the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit.

2. When the card has been recognised, the LEDs go out and an acoustic signal sounds.
   Then remove the PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station from the PANTABOX.

An acoustic signal indicates locking has been initiated. The four centre LEDs will pulsate in white during the locking process.

If the locking process has been successful, the four centre LEDs will shortly flash 2x in green and there will be two short acoustic signals.

Then, the status display will switch to the respective status (Ready for charging, waiting mode, etc.).
Should locking fail, the four centre LEDs will shortly flash red 2x and there will be a short acoustic signal.

In that case, please check if the release lever is fully engaged and repeat the locking process using the PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station.
Then, the status display will switch to the respective status (Ready for charging, waiting mode, etc.)
Please refer to Chapter 2.5.1.1 “Status overview” for more information on the respective status modes.
[3.2.4.2] Unlocking the PANTABOX Docking Station
If you want to unlock the PANTABOX Docking Station and remove the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit, proceed as follows:
1. Unlock the PANTABOX Docking Station in the app (Follow the instructions in the app).
OR

1. Unlock the PANTABOX Docking Station by tapping the PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station to the RFID contact area of the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit.
2.  When the card has been recognised, the LEDs go out and a acoustic signal sounds.
   Then remove the PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station from the PANTABOX.

If the unlocking process has been successful, the four centre LEDs will shortly flash 2x in green.

Then, the status display will switch to the respective status (Ready for charging, waiting mode, etc.).
Should unlocking fail, the four centre LEDs will shortly flash red 2x and there will be an acoustic signal.

In this case, check whether the release lever is fully closed and repeat the unlocking with the PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station.
If the problem persists, follow the steps in chapter 3.2.4.3 „Emergency release of the PANTABOX Docking Station“.
Then, the status display will switch to the respective status (Ready for charging, waiting mode, etc.).
Please refer to Chapter 2.5.1.1 “LED status overview” for more information on the respective status modes.
[3.2.4.3] Emergency release of the PANTABOX Docking Station
The PANTABOX Docking Station can be locked using the app or the PANTABOX Admin Keycard Docking Station and, thus, protects against theft of the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit.
In certain cases (e. g. a longer power failure), an emergency release may be necessary.

An emergency release causes damage to the cover of the PANTABOX Docking Station. That damage is not reversible and cannot be repaired. An emergency release should only be done if there is no other option available.
The PANTABOX Docking Station has a rated break point in the upper part of the cable entry.

1. Break and remove the corner at the rated break point. Make sure you only break the designated corner marked in green 1.
2. Remove the sealing knob 2.
3. Use the supplied offset screwdriver (T10) to unscrew the screw clockwise until the release lever can be opened.
4. Pull the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit downwards and towards you from the PANTABOX Docking Station.
5.  Close the release lever of the PANTABOX Docking Station.

Your PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit is detached from the PANTABOX Docking Station and can be used mobile now. The PANTABOX Docking Station can be reused for charging if you reinsert the sealing knobcorrectly into the PANTABOX Docking Station.
Only then is the PANTABOX Docking Station safe to use.

While the emergency release is activated, the docking station cannot be locked again.
To release the emergency release, proceed as follows:

1. Connect the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit to the Docking Station.
2. Turn the screw counterclockwise until resistance is felt.
3. Insert the sealing knob.

The locking mechanism of the PANTABOX Docking Station is now functional again.

[3.3] Charging with PANTABOX
The PANTABOX offers you the possibility to charge your electric vehicle by means of the PANTABOX Adapters or the PANTABOX Docking Station. You can start charging immediately or configure charging process settings in the app.
[3.3.1] Starting the charging process
Should you wish to configure charging settings in your app, please follow the instructions in the app.

1. Connect your PANTABOX type 2 plug with your electric vehicle.
   Observe the car maker’s vehicle-specific instructions forcharging your electric vehicle.
   After connecting the type 2 plug to the vehicle until the final release of the charging process by the vehicle or app (e.g. preset charging profiles), the four centre LEDs light up blue.

A short acoustic signal indicates that the charging process was successfully initiated.
The charging process is indicated by a blue running light from left to right.

2.  Should you wish to adjust the charging current, please use the PANTABOX App.
3. If the charging process cannot be initiated or if there are issues during the charging process, the PANTABOX LEDs will display the respective error message. Please refer to Chapter 2.5.1.2 “Error messages” for more information on error messages. The app provides detailed information on error messages.

[3.3.2] Finishing the charging process
When the charging process is completed (e.g. when the charging time set in the app has been reached or when the car is fully charged), you can disconnect your electric vehicle from the PANTABOX.
You can stop the charging process any time via the app or your vehicle.
A self-test is carried out immediately after the end of the charging process. The LEDs on the PANTABOX pulsate slowly in white for the duration of the self- test.

After the charging process has been completed and the self-test has been carried out, the four centre LEDs of the PANTABOX light up blue continuously.

Before you can pull the type 2 plug, it must be released vehicle-side.
Your PANTABOX is ready for charging again now. The two centre LEDs of the PANTABOX light up green permanently to indicate the status “Ready for charging”.

[3.3.3] Activating the Earth-Off mode (Deactivating protective conductor monitoring)
If protective conductor monitoring is active, charging is rendered impossible in unearthed IT power supply networks (e.g. in some regions in Norway) due to the protective conductor missing there.
In order to still be able to charge using the PANTABOX in those networks, protective conductor monitoring can temporarily be deactivated using the app. You will find more information in the app.
Please note: It is imperative that you use that mode exclusively for charging in unearthed IT networks.
[3.4] Using the app
We recommend you download the PANTABOX App and set up a user account to use the PANTABOX optimally.
To prevent unauthorised access, the app is locked for your PANTABOX by default when you first set it up.
Thus, you will have to activate the PANTABOX for the app with your PANTABOX Admin
Keycard before connecting the app with the PANTABOX.
Install the app. It will instruct you to present your PANTABOX Admin Keycard.
This procedure is only needed when setting up the app the first time.
The app enables you to control the charging processes of your PANTABOX. You can select charging settings, individually adjust the charging capacity, and initiate, pause, and stop charging processes. You decide about charging limits and charging processes via
individually customisable charging profiles.
The app allows you to set ideal charging processes for each of your vehicles via a comprehensive vehicle list, which is updated continuously.
Check the charging history any time for an overview of charging process statistics.
The app makes the PANTABOX fit for future by allowing you to acquire and conveniently set up features such as future connectivity with smart home systems and photovoltaics equipment via the app.
There are various options for accessing the PANTABOX via the app:

• Directly and using the PANTABOX Mobile Charging Unit as a mobile charging solution on the go via Bluetooth (BLE).
• At home and wherever you can connect the PANTABOX per WLAN.
• Remotely via the Cloud, which allows you to always keep your PANTABOX in sight.

[3.5] Installing firmware updates
You can install firmware updates on your PANTABOX via the app.
In order to carry out firmware updates, the following conditions must be met:

• The PANTABOX must be connected to the mains supply.

• The PANTABOX may not be charging.

• You need access rights to the PANTABOX.
  Please refer to the app for information regarding access restrictions.

• The smartphone with the app must be close to the PANTABOX or the PANTABOX must be connected to the internet per WLAN.

1. Follow the instructions in the app.
   The update installation will start.
   The PANTABOX LEDs will indicate the progress of the update.

The PANTABOX reboots with a self-test.
If the firmware update failed, the four right PANTABOX LEDs light up red and you will get a message in the app.
Chapter 3.5.1.2 “Error messages” provides options for solving errors. The app offers detailed information regarding error messages.

[3.6] Factory Reset (Resetting the PANTABOX to default settings)
There are two options for resetting the PANTABOX to default settings (“Factory Reset”).
[3.6.1] Factory Reset without the app
To carry out a factory reset without the app, you will need the PANTABOX Admin Keycard.
It enables you to reset the PANTABOX to default settings. All prior settings will be lost. Any purchased additional features are still available after the factory reset.

1. Tap the PANTABOX Admin Keycard to the RFID contact area of the PANTABOX for 5 –10 seconds 1.

2.  Remove the PANTABOX Admin Keycard from the PANTABOX and wait 1 – 5 seconds 2.

3.  Tap the PANTABOX Admin Keycard to the RFID contact area of the PANTABOX once again for 5 – 10 seconds 3.
   All LEDs fl ash white as a warning incl. an acoustic signal.

4.  Remove the PANTABOX Admin Keycard from the PANTABOX 4.

The factory reset has been triggered. Factory reset starts. The LEDs will flash white, running from left to right.

Upon successful factory reset the PANTABOX will automatically start the initiation phase and carry out a self-test.
[3.6.2] Factory Reset with the app

In order to do a factory reset with the app, you will need the app on your smartphone.
It enables you to reset the PANTABOX to default settings. All prior settings will be lost. Any purchased additional features are still available after the factory reset.
[4.1] Transportation and storage
Observe the applicable security instructions for transportation and storage.
Store the PANTABOX in the original boxes and avoid excessive folding and bending of the cables.
Only transport and store the PANTABOX at the following temperatures: -40 °C bis +85 °C.
[4.2] Cleaning the PANTABOX

• Clean the PANTABOX from outside only.
• Use a dry cloth for cleaning.
• Always keep the plug, adapters, connectors, and, in particular, the contacts clean and dry.

[4.3] Servicing the PANTABOX
Service and maintenance are not necessary.
Repairs may only be done by the manufacturer. Please contact customer service for repairs.

DISPOSAL

In accordance with the Directive 2012/19/ EU, the device is to be returned to sorting facilities at the end of its life cycle.
Therefore, do not dispose of this device and its accessories with the regular household waste, but refer to the local authorities for information about collection points for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
According to § 17 paragraphs 1 and 2 of the ElektroG (German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act) you can also return the device to us. Please contact our customer service for doing so.
Do not send the device to one of the listed addresses before consulting with customer service. Any return consignment to these addresses will be returned at your cost.
** To protect this device from damage in transit, it is packaged.
The packaging material is recyclable for the protection of the environment.
Thus, please recycle the packaging.
[5.1] Information according to the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)**

1. Separate Collection of electronic waste
   a. Electrical and electronic equipment which the holder discards or intends to discard is considered waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Owners of WEEE are required to place it in a collection separate from that of unsorted domestic waste. WEEE, in particular, may not be disposed with in the household waste, but must be taken to special collection and return points.

2. Batteries and accumulators as well as lamps
   a. As a rule, holders of WEEE are required to separate spent batteries and accumulators not enclosed in the WEEE as well as lamps that can be removed from the WEEE without causing damage from the WEEE prior to returning the WEEE to a collection point. That does not apply if WEEE is prepared for reuse with the participation of a public waste management authority.

3.  Options for returning WEEE a Holders of WEEE from private households can return it free of charge at collection points of public waste manage- ment authorities or at collection points provided by manufacturers and distributors in compliance with the ElektroG. Stores with a sales floor area of at least 400 m² for electrical and electronic equipment and those grocery stores with a total sales floor area of at least 800 m² which offer electrical and electronic equipment several times per year or permanently and make it available on the market are required to take back WEEE. This also applies to sales utilizing means of telecommunication if the areas for storage and shipping of electrical and electronic equipment are at least 400 m² or if the total area for storage and sales is at least 800 m². As a principle, distributors are required to ensure returning by making collection points available at reasonable distance to the respective end user.
   The option of returning WEEE free of charge shall e.g. also apply for distributors bound by the take-back when a new similar appliance which essentially has the same functions is supplied to an end user. If a new appliance is delivered to a private household, the similar WEEE can also be returned for collection free of charge; this applies to appliances of the categories 1, 2 or 4 as defined in § 2 par. 1 ElektroG, namely “heat transmitters”, “display units” or “large household appliances” (the latter with external dimensions of at least 50 centimetres) sold by means of telecommunication. End users shall be asked if they intend to return WEEE correspondingly when concluding the purchasing contract. In addition, there is the possibility of returning WEEE free of charge at collection points made available by the distributors independently from purchasing a new device for such WEEE whose external dimensions are not larger than 25 centimetres and limited to three items of WEEE per category.

4. Data protection notice
   a. WEEE often contain sensitive personal data; that applies, in particular, to IT and telecommunication technologies devices such as computers and smartphones. It is in your own interest to note that each end user is responsible for deleting such data from the WEEE to be disposed of.

5. Meaning of the symbol “crossed out waste container” The symbol of a crossed-out waste container regularly depicted on electrical and electronic devices means that the respective equipment shall be collected separately from unsorted domestic waste.
