Special safety directions
Read and understand these safety instructions before using the motorcycle
hoist. Failure to do so can result in material damage and/or personal injury!
Do not exceed the motorcycle hoist’s maximum lifting capacity!
The motorcycle hoist is only intended for lifting motorcycles.
It may only be used on a hard, at surface that is not smooth. The surface
must be clean, clear and illuminated.
The ramp is only intended to help the motorcycle up onto the hoist when the
hoist is in its lowest position.
Make sure that the motorcycle is fully supported by the lift platform before
starting to lift it.
The motorcycle rear wheel must NOT be on the ramp, and the ramp must NOT be
used to support the motorcycle when lifting.
Secure the motorcycle to the hoist with the wheel clamp and suitable straps
before lifting the motorcycle.
Always insert the safety bolt into the motorcycle hoist once the motorcycle
has been lifted to avoid lowering the hoist accidentally.
The motorcycle hoist must NOT be moved when there is a load on it. It may only
be used at a . xed location for lifting and lowering the load. The motorcycle
must always be stable.
You must NOT make any changes to the motorcycle hoist.
Always store the hoist in its fully lowered position when not in use.
Assembly
It takes 2 people to assemble the motorcycle hoist.
Unpack the motorcycle hoist from its packaging and lay all the loose parts out
as shown. Place the actual motorcycle hoist on 2 pieces of wood so it is
raised a few centimetres from the floor, as the release pedal cannot
otherwise be fltted. Screw the release pedal (9) securely onto the thread
until it touches the nut already on the thread.
Counter-tighten the nut with a wrench, so that the release pedal locks
securely onto the thread. The release pedal should point outwards at roughly
the same angle as the foot pedal (10).
Fit the foot pedal (10) to the shaft of the pump.
Remove the 2 pieces of wood the motorcycle hoist is resting on.
Fit the wheel clamp (2) to the lift table (3) using bolts, washers and nuts.
Fit the clamping brackets (13) to the lift table using nuts.
Fit the stop plate (1) at the front of the lift table using bolts, washers and
nuts.
Use
Place the motorcycle hoist on a hard, horizontal surface and adjust the
support feet (12) so that the hoist is stable.
Lower the lift table (3) to its lowest position by pressing the release pedal
(9).
Drive the motorcycle up onto the lift table via the ramp (5). Flip the
kickstand down and tighten the front wheel securely to the wheel clamp (2).
Tighten the motorcycle securely to the clamping brackets using suitable straps
so that it cannot tip over.
Remove the ramp, if appropriate. Lift the lift table up fully using the foot
pedal (10) until the lift table will not go any higher.
Insert the safety bolt (11) into the desired holes on the support (6) and
press the release pedal. The lift table will drop until it rests on the safety
bolt.
Remove the removable plate (4) if required to facilitate access to the
underside of the motorcycle hoist.
Lower the lift table by first raising it to the maximum height using the foot
pedal, and then removing the safety bolt. Check there is nothing under the
lift table and lower it to the lowest position by pressing the release pedal.
Replace the ramp if detached, and roll
the motorcycle off the lift table.
Never allow the lift table to lower too fast!
Checking and filling hydraulic fluid
- Lower the lift completely. Remove the access panel and the rubber oil plug on the top of the pump underneath.
- The oil level should be even with the bottom of the flller plug hole. You should be able to see the oil.
- If the oil level is low, add hydraulic oil.
Cleaning and maintenance
Wipe off with a damp cloth. Lubricate moving parts with oil.
Lubricate the pump with good quality hydraulic oil 1-2 times a month. Top up
the oil through the bleed valve while holding down the release pedal.
Troubleshooting
If the lift appears not to be working properly, it may be necessary to bleed trapped air from its hydraulic system.
- Apply pressure to release pedal (9).
- Remove oil fill plug, fill hydraulic oil to full level and replace plug.
- Apply pressure to the release pedal (9) and pump the food pedal (10) several times.
- Push the rubber oil plug to the side for removal of excess air, and if necessary, top off the oil fill hole with hydraulic oil.
- Test the equipment several times for proper operation before attempting to lift a load, after bleeding.
- If needed repeat step 3-5.
