Product Information

The neo 1-4 HDBaseT Splitter is a device that allows you to split and distribute HDMI signals to multiple sink devices. It is designed to deliver high-quality audio and video signals over long distances using HDBaseT technology. The splitter also features a Web Interface for convenient setup and configuration.

Panel Descriptions

  • A System Health LED: Indicates the health status of the splitter. When red, it is powering on or a fault has been found. When green, the system is healthy.
  • B Monitored LED: Indicates the connection status of the splitter to the Pulse-Eight Cloud. When red, it is not connected to the cloud. When green, it is connected to the cloud.
  • C 48V Power Connector: Use this connector with the supplied power adapter to connect the power.
  • D Ethernet: Connect to a network for connection to the Web Interface, Third Party Control, and Cloud Remote Monitoring Portal.
  • E HDMI Input: Connect the appropriate high-speed HDMI cable to this input. This cable should be connected to the source device (e.g., Blu-Ray player).
  • F IR OUT: This port is used to control the connected HDMI Source device (STB, Blu-Ray, etc.) using a compliant Pulse-Eight IR Emitter.
  • G HDBaseT Output: Connect the appropriate Category cable (Cat 5e minimum requirement) to each output. These cables should be connected to a neo Receiver at each sink device (e.g., TV, Amplifier).

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Accessing the Web Interface:
    • Ensure that your computer is connected to the same router/network as the splitter.
    • Open your web browser and visit www.gotomymatrix.com.
  2. Hardware Installation:
  3. Connect an HDMI cable from your video source (e.g., Blu-Ray player) to the HDMI input of the neo HDBaseT splitter.
  4. Connect the appropriate Category cable (Cat 5e or higher recommended) to the neo HDBaseT splitter’s “HDBaseT Out” ports.
  5. Attach the other end of the Category cable to the neo:Lite Receiver’s “HDBaseT In” port.
  6. Connect the HDMI Out on the neo:Lite Receiver to the sink device (e.g., TV) using a high-speed HDMI cable.
  7. If required, connect the compatible IR Flasher (Emitter/Transmitter) cable to the “TX” port on the neo:1-4 HDBT Splitter and place the IR bud over the source device’s IR window.
  8. If required, connect the IR Receiver to the neo:Lite Receiver’s “RX” port and place the IR bud on the underside of the sink device (e.g., TV).
  9. Insert the supplied power adapter into the neo HDBaseT splitter and plug it into the AC mains.
  10. Turn on the AC mains.
  11. Once initialization is completed, the System Health and Monitored LEDs should all appear ON (green).
  12. Note:
    • The initialization process takes between 20 seconds and up to 2 minutes.
    • If a firmware update is available, the System Health LED will flash quickly together (green). Please wait and do not disconnect the power until the update is completed.

PANEL DESCRIPTIONS

  • F IR OUT : This port is used to control the connected HDMI Source device (STB, Blu-Ray, etc) using a compliant Pulse-Eight IR Emitter.
  • G HDBaseT Output: Connect the appropriate *Category cable to each output. These cables should then be connected to a neo Receiver at each sink device. (TV/Amplifier etc.).
  • Category cable: Cat 5e minimum requirement. Cat 6 or higher category recommended.

INSTALLATION

  1. Connect HDMI cable from your video source (e.g. Blu-Ray player) to the HDMI input of the neo HDBaseT splitter.
  2. Connect the appropriate category cable (Cat 5e or higher recommended) to the neo HDBaseT splitter ‘HDBaseT Out’ ports.
  3. Complete the connection by attaching the other end of the Cat cable to the neo:Lite Receiver’s ‘HDBaseT In’ port
  4. Connect HDMI Out on the neo:Lite Receiver to the sink device (i.e. TV) using a high-speed HDMI cable.
  5. If required, connect the compatible IR Flasher (Emitter/Transmitter) cable to the ‘TX’ port on the neo:1-4 HDBT Splitter and the IR bud placed over the source device’s IR window.
  6. If required, connect the IR Receiver to the neo:Lite Receiver’s ‘RX’ port – and place the IR bud on the underside of the sink device (i.e. TV).
  7. Insert the supplied power adapter to the neo HDBaseT splitter and plug it into the AC mains.
  8. Turn ON the AC mains.
  9. Once initialization has been completed, the System Health, and Monitored LEDs should all appear ON (green). Note: The initialization process takes between 20 seconds and up to 2 minutes. However, it is possible that a firmware update may be available the first time the unit is powered ON – in this instance, the 1-4 HDBsaseT Splitter may take longer to initialize. If the System Health LED flashes (green) quickly together then a firmware update is being applied. Please wait and do not disconnect the power until this update has beeen completed.
  10. Check the LED status on the neo:1-4 HDBT Splitter to ensure correct installation and connection.
  11. As it powers ON, check the LED status on the attached neo Receiver to ensure correct installation and connection. Note: The Green LED of the HDBaseT port (RJ45) on the neo Receiver should illuminate when there is power to the device – i.e. it is receiving PoH/PoE.

neo Web Interface

  • The Web Interface can be accessed using a computer connected to the same router/network as the splitter and by visiting www.gotomymatrix.com in your web browser.
  • The front page of the web interface shows all available input and outputs.
  • When setting up the splitter, it is important that the installer can access the admin menu on the Web Interface to configure the splitter according to the installation’s requirements.
  • This is accessed by clicking the Admin hyperlink and entering ‘admin’ in the password on first install.

Monitoring Portal

  • Access the Pulse-Eight Cloud Monitoring site to download the necessary drivers. Follow the installation instructions in the driver documentation for that control system.
  • To access the monitoring portal please visit monitoring.pulse-eight.com, click ‘Login’ in the top left corner, and sign in with your registered details.
  • Once logged in, the dashboard will display your details including your Installer ID.

Note: If you do not already have an Installer ID, you’ll need to create one. Please contact our customer service team at cs@pulse- eight.com or go to monitoring.pulse- eight.com/Account/Register.

SAFETY PRECAUTION

Please read the full manual instructions before attempting to install or operate this equipment. Please keep the following in mind as you unpack and install this equipment:

  • Always follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury.
  • To prevent fire or shock hazards, do not expose the unit to rain, or moisture or install this product near water.
  • Never spill liquid of any kind on or into this product.
  • Where possible, install the splitter towards the top of the rack to avoid the unit overheating.
  • Only use the supplied IEC cable.
  • Never push any objects into this product through any openings or empty slots in the unit as you may damage parts inside and/or cause an electrical shock.
  • Do not allow anything to rest on the power cabling and avoid putting the weight of any kind on it.
  • To protect the unit from overheating do not block any vents or openings in the unit housing that provides ventilation. Allow sufficient space for air to circulate around the unit.
  • This product is intended for use in a clean (dust-free) residential environment.

  • This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules.
  • These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.
  • This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation.
  • If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
    • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
    • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
    • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
