Product Information

The product is a lighting fixture manufactured by Hudson Valley Lighting Group. It is part of the Corbett collection and thespecific model is Akina. The fixture includes a mounting plate,mounting screws, ground screw, wire nut, fixture assembly, bolt nuts, bulb socket, shade, finial, and diffuser. The fixture is designed for use with a 15-watt Type A lamp.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before installation, ensure that the mounting plate (A) is  securely attached using the mounting screws (B).
  2. Connect the ground wire to the ground screw (C). Never connect the ground wire to the hot wire to avoid serious injury or death.
  3. Use a wire nut (D) to join the wires together. Make sure there are no exposed wires or strands that could cause a dangerous shortcircuit.
  4. Ensure that the hot and neutral wires are not reversed to prevent serious injury or death.
  5. Assemble the fixture (F) onto the mounting plate (A) using thebolt nuts (E).
  6. Insert a 15-watt Type A bulb (G) into the socket.
  7. Attach the shade (H) and secure it with the finial (J).
  8. If necessary, install the diffuser (I) onto the fixture assembly (F).

Please note that it is important not to exceed the recommended wattage for the bulb to ensure safe usage of the fixture.

If any replacement parts are needed, refer to the following part numbers: Hardware Kit (HDW-1), Shade (SHD-1), Diffuser (DIF-1), Finial (FIN-1).

  • DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE RE-LAMPING OR WIRING THE FIXTURE. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION.
  • TO AVOID THE RISK OF FIRE OR SHOCK, FIXTURE MUST BE INSTALLED IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTRICAL/BUILDING CODES. THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THIS UNIT SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN OR CERTIFIED FACTORY TRAINED TECHNICIAN.

  • UNPACK FIXTURE, PARTS AND PARTS BAG(S) BEFORE DISCARDING THE CARTON. MAKE CERTAIN THAT ALL PARTS ARE FOUND. INSPECT THE FIXTURE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION FOR ANY DAMAGE. HVLG DOES NOT PAY OR REIMBURSE ELECTRICIAN FEES. FIXTURE MAY NOT BE RETURNED ONCE IT HAS BEEN INSTALLED. SEE WARRANTY FOR EXCEPTIONS.
  • PLEASE CLEAN WITH A SOFT, DRY CLOTH ONLY! DO NOT USE CLEANSERS.

FIXTURE INSTALLATION

  1. Attach the MOUNTING PLATE (A) onto the junction box using the MOUNTING SCREWS (B). This fixture is designed to be mounted on standard round or octagon junction box. The junction box must be securely mounted to the structure of the building.
  2. Attach the Ground wire (Green) to the ground inside the outlet box (Generally green or bar copper wire) or the GROUND SCREW (C) on the MOUNTING PLATE (A). NEVER CONNECT GROUND WIRE TO “HOT WIRE! FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH!
  3. Connect the white fixture lead to the neutral Generally white wire in the outlet box. Fasten the wirestogether with an approved fastener (WIRE NUT D. Starting below the fastener, tightly wrap theconnection with electrico tape so that the connections seals the end of the fastener. MAKE
  4. SURETHERE ARE NO EXPOSED WIRE OF STRANDS THAT COULD CAUSE A DANGEROUS SHORT CIRCUIT!
  5. Connect the black fixture leads to the hot (Generally black) wire in the junction box. Fasten the joined wires same as previous step. NEVER REVERSE HOT AND NEUTRAL WIRES. FAILURE TO FOLLOWTHIS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH!
  6. Attach the FIXTURE ASSEMBLY (F) to the MOUNTING PLATE (A) and secure with the BOLT NUTS (E).
  7. Screw the BULB (G) into the SOCKET of the fixture. THIS FIXTURE IS RATED FOR 15 WATT TYPE A  LAMP. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED WATTAGE!
  8. Place the SHADE (H) and DIFFUSER (I) onto the FIXTURE ASSEMBLY (F) of the fixture and secure with the FINIAL (J).
  9. Restore power to the outlet or the breaker or fuse box
