PERSONALISING THE PAD SETTINGS
About Settings of Pads
You can adjust any of the following settings from
Utility mode. Press the [UTILITY] button to enter Utility mode, when engaged,
the [UTILITY] button will be lit. You can use[+] or[-] or[-] button to choose
which pad you want to adjust the parameters for.
All parameters will save automatically after selecting them, and the module
will return to the previous menu if there is no operation for 3 seconds.
Threshold: This setting allows a trigger signal to be received only when
the pad is struck harder than a specified force. This can be used to prevent a
pad from sounding in response to extraneous vibrations from another pad.
Press the [UTILITY] button, the display will show the current threshold value
(e.g. “th2′), use the [ +] or [-] buttons to adjust this.
Sensitivity: Adjust the sensitivity of the pad to regulate the pad response. Higher sensitivity settings mean that the pad will produce a loud volume even when struck softly.
Press the [MENU] button again, the display will show the current Sensitivity value (e.g. “S03”), use the [ +] or [-] buttons to adjust th is.
Crosstalk: The vibration produced by hitting one pad may trigger the sound from another pad unintentionally, this is called crosstalk. You can avoid this accidental triggering by setting the Crosstalk value, so that when two ‘- I I pads are played simultaneously, the one that is struck less forcefully will not trigger. Be careful to set this parameter to the minimum value required to prevent crosstalk, but still allow you to use the kit effectively.
With a setting of 0, crosstalk prevention does not function.
Press the [MENU] button, the display will show the current Crosstalk value
(e.g. “Cr3”), use the[+] or[-] buttons to adjust this.
Press the [MENU]] button until the display shows the current Retrig Cancel (
e.g. “r05 “), use the [ +] or [-] buttons to adjust this.
Press the [MENU] button until the display shows the current Aim Adjust value
(e.g. “rA3”), use the[+] or[-] buttons to adjust this.
Press the [MENU] button until the display shows the current Trans Midi Channel
value (e.g. “h08”), use the[+] or[-] buttons to adjust this.
Curve: Curve refers to how the trigger signal’s dynamic response relates
to your pad hit, and this setting allows you to control the relation between
the velocity (striking force) and changes in volume (the dynamic curve), so
that the acoustic response feels as natural as possible.
Press the [MENU] button until the display shows the current Curve value (e.g.
“CUB”), use the[+] or[-] buttons to adjust this.
- Curve l: The standard setting, this produces the most natural correspondence between your playing dynamics and volume change.
- Curve 2 and 3: Compared to Curve 1, these have strong dynamics that produce a greater change.
- Curve 4 and 5: Compared to Curve 1, softer playing produces a greater change.
- Curve6: Very little dynamic response, making it easy to maintain strong volume levels. If using drum triggers, these settings help maintain stable levels.
Retng-Cancel: This setting prevents double triggering (retriggering) in response t to a single strike. In particular for a drum trigger, the waveform is irregular, which can cause trigerring to occur. This is especially likely to occur as the waveform diminishes. The Retrig Cancel setting detects this irregularity in the waveform and prevents false triggering from occurring.
Saving Settings of Pads
After adjusting the trigger settings, you can save them into memory. In
UTILITY menu, press and hold the [UTILITY] button, the module will store all
pad settings.
Note:
- If you turn off the power without saving, you will lose any trigger setting changes you have made.
- These parameters affect all of the kit sounds.
