FRONT PANEL
-
Input
This is where you plug in your bass. -
Mute Button
This button silences the amp, allowing you to safely plug in, and unplug the bass without any loud pops or audio distortion. The light above shines red when the amp is muted. -
Passive/Active Switch
To change the attenuation of the input whether you are using a passive or an active bass guitar. -
Gain
This controls the preamp gain on the amp. As the knob is turned clockwise towards 10, the gain increases, giving some drive. The red clip light on the top will indicate when the preamp is being driven to the point of audio clipping, and the amp will begin to distort. -
Bass EQ Control
This knob controls the amount of low-end frequency in your bass tone. As it’s turned clockwise towards 10, the amount of bass in the bass tone will increase. If it’s set at 0, there will be less bass. -
Low-Mid EQ Control
Dictates the Lower side of your middle-frequency register of the amplifier. Turning this up will make your Bass guitar sound fatter, ideal for Rock and Metal style Bass tones. Conversely reducing the amount of Low-Mid in your tone will result in a scooped, hollower Bass guitar sound for most Metal and Funk styles of Bass playing. -
High-Mid EQ Control
Dictates the higher side of your middle-frequency register of the amplifier. Turning this up will add bite to your tone, ideal for Slap-style Bass. Conversely reducing the amount of High-mid in your tone will result in a darker and warmer Bass guitar sound for the classic Rock and Jazz Bass tones -
Treble EQ Control
Controls the high frequencies of the Bass guitar tone. If you increase the treble your bass will sound brighter. -
Presence Control
Makes your High-Mid range and Treble Brighter allowing you to better cut through the mix. -
Peak Indicator Light
This lights up to inform the user that the anti-clipping peak circuitry is in effect, which acts like a compressor to prevent the amp from clipping on the output. -
Master Volume Control
This knob is used to control the overall master volume output of the amplifier. -
Power Indicator Light
This lights up to indicate that the amp is powered on. -
Headphone Output
This is where you plug headphones in to hear your bass sound directly through your headphones. This cuts the speaker output signal and allows for quiet practice just through your headphones.
BACK PANEL
-
Power Switch
This switch powers up the amplifier. -
AC Power Plug Input
This is where the AC Power Cable is plugged into the amplifier to provide power. This cable is included with your amplifier. -
Auxiliary Input
This is where you can plug in stereo RCA leads to play audio from an audio source like a phone or computer to play through your amplifier. To use with a phone or computer, a stereo RCA to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter would be needed, which is not included with the amp. -
Direct Output
This is where you can use an XLR cable to send the bass guitar signal directly to a mixer or audio interface. -
Direct Output Level
This determines the level of the direct output. -
Send and Return
The effects loop send and return allows you to plug in pedals but have them either after the preamp in the signal chain or before, depending on the position of the Pre/Post switch (see 7). This means your bass signal will go to the preamp first (if the switch is pushed in), and then can be sent out to a pedal chain using the “Send” output. From there, it would go out of the pedal chain and back into the amp via the “Return” input. This allows you to keep distortion and overdrive pedal signals separate from modulation such as reverb and delay. -
Pre/Post Switch
This determines the position of the Send/Return loop in the signal chain. If it’s not pushed in, it’ll be before the preamp stage. If it is pushed in, it’ll be after the preamp stage. -
Ground/Lift Switch
The ground lift switch eliminates unwanted hum and buzz by interrupting the ground loops between equipment, preventing current flow along the cable shield between two devices. The switch disconnects pin 1 on the XLR jack, which is connected to the braid or foil shield in the cable and acts as the ground point of the circuit. -
Tuner Output
This is where you can plug in a tuner pedal to tune your bass. -
Footswitch Input
This allows you to plug in a footswitch to be able to control the mute function on the amplifier. -
Speakon Speaker Output
This output is used to connect the amplifier head to a speaker box. This connection is for speaker stacks that use a Speakon connector. -
1/4′ Speaker Output
This output is used to connect the amplifier head to a speaker box. This connection is for speaker stacks that use a 1/4-inch connector.
