The MTX3 Modular Matrix Card is a device used for installing input and output cards in a modular matrix system. It allows for the expansion and customization of audio and video signal routing within a system.

Get to know your Modular Matrix Card
The attached card mounts in one of the slots on the rear of the chassis:
- In MTX3-16-M, matrix cards are installed horizontally, and slots are numbered from top to bottom (1 to 8 and 9 to 16).
- In MTX3-34-M, matrix cards are installed vertically, and slots are numbered from left to right (1 to 34).
Input and output cards may be mounted in any slot.
Install a matrix card
To install a matrix card to the MTX3 Modular Matrix Card (as shown in the example below):
- Power off the machine and all devices connected to it.
- Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the screws at the top and bottom (or sideways) of a blank plate.
- Remove the blank plate from the slot and store it for possible future use.
- Remove the new card from its shipping box and anti-ESD bag.
- Holding the card by the lower handle, align the card with the plastic guide rails (vertical or horizontal).
- Slide the card into the chassis until the front of the card contacts the connector inside the chassis.
- Press the card firmly into the slot until the connector plate is flush with the rear panel of the chassis and the connector is fully seated.
- Using a Phillips screwdriver, tighten the retaining screws at the top and bottom of the card to secure it to the chassis.
- Power on the machine and follow the procedure in the user manual to configure the new card.
- Power on the peripheral devices.
