IMPORTANT USAGE GUIDELINES
- Requires 3 new AA alkaline batteries (not included).
- Phillips screwdriver required for battery installation.
- Temperature range for use is between 0°-40°C
- Not intended for children under 24 months.
- Please retain this user manual for future reference as it contains important information.
CARE
- Keep water, sand and dirt off of TIMIO.
- Keep TIMIO away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
- To clean, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use detergents or chemicals.
- Do not drop TIMIO on a hard surface.
- Under no circumstances should TIMIO be broken apart as this invalidates the warranty. If you are experiencing issues, please contact us timio@timio.co
BATTERY INSTALLATION

Locate the battery compartment door on the back of the player.

Ensure the power switch is to the OFF position.

Loosen the screw in the battery compartment door with a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the battery compartment door.

Insert 3 AA alkaline batteries following the polarity (+/-) specified in the battery compartment. See FIG. 1
Warning: DO NOT REMOVE THE SD CARD from the battery compartment. TIMIO will not work without the SD CARD. -
Replace the battery compartment door and tighten the screw. Do not over-tighten.

Low battery warning: the battery icon (next to the question mark) will light up, replace the batteries.

When sounds become faint again or stop during use, replace the batteries.

Protect the environment by not disposing of this product with household waste (2002/96/EC). Check your local authority for recycling advice and facilities (Europe only).
SD CARD
DO NOT REMOVE or tamper with the SD CARD located in the battery compartment as it will impact the functioning of TIMIO. See FIG. 2
BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION
In exceptional circumstances, batteries may leak fluids that can cause a chemical burn injury or ruin TIMIO. To avoid battery leakage:
- Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium).
- Insert batteries as indicated inside the battery compartment.
- Remove batteries during long periods of non-use. Always remove exhausted batteries from TIMIO. Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of this product in a fire. The batteries inside may explode or leak.
- Never short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type, as recommended.
- Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
- The installation of batteries should be performed by an adult.
LET’S PLAY!
- On the back of the player, switch the power button to the ON position. See FIG. 3
- By default, TIMIO is set to the English language. To select a different language, place and hold your finger on the globe icon for 3 seconds. TIMIO will say all the available languages one by one. Release your finger when you reach your desired language. See FIG. 4
- There are 3 volume settings: low, medium and high. By default, TIMIO’s volume is set to medium. To lower the volume, place your finger on the low-volume icon and hold for 3 seconds. To increase the volume, place your finger on the high-volume icon and hold for 3 seconds. See FIG. 5
- Place a disc on the front of the player, you will hear the title of the disc, then tap an image to play. See FIG. 6
- To automatically play all songs/stories, press any image for 3 seconds.
CHALLENGE INCLUDED!
- TIMIO’s vocabulary discs include questions. Hold the ‘?’ icon for 3 seconds to switch the questions ON or OFF. See FIG. 7
- When the questions are turned ON and no image is pressed for a period of 2 seconds, the player will automatically challenge the user with a question. E.g. “Find the color red”. Answer by tapping the correct image.
POWER OFF
- To stop playing simply remove the disc.
- When no user activity is detected for a period of 5 minutes, the player goes into sleep mode to save battery power.
- To switch back on, place a disc or tap one of the images for 2 seconds.
- Always switch the power button to the OFF position to save battery power.
HEADPHONE SOCKET
- Insert the headphone plug into the socket located at the top of the player. Always use kids-safe headphones. Check the volume prior to placing on child’s ears. See FIG. 8

- TIMIO B.V. warrants that its hardware product shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months beginning from the date of purchase. See https://timio.co/warranty/ for specific warranty information about your product and procedure to act on a warranty claim.
- TIMIO B.V.’s entire liability and our exclusive remedy for any breach of warranty shall be at TIMIO B.V.’s option, to repair or replace the product, or to refund the price paid, provided that the hardware is returned to the point of purchase or such other place as required by law along with a receipt.
