Know Your Coffee Machine

Using Ground Coffee

Select the appropriate sized filter (4/5) depending on whether you are making one espresso, a double, or two singles. Make sure it’s dry.

Using the measuring spoon (3), measure out one level spoon per serving into the coffee grounds. You are aiming for a firm but not too tightly packed filter. Use 2 level spoons if using the 2 cup filter.

Pre-programmed shot capacity – 1 cup

  1. Press the 1 cup button once, the button will light up indicating it has been selected. The other buttons will turn off.
  2. The pump will pump for 2.5 seconds, followed by a break of 3 seconds for pre-infusion, and then it will continue to pump.
  3. A preset single espresso volume of approximately 30ml will be extracted.
  4. The machine will automatically stop once the pre-set capacity has been extracted. After extraction, the lights of the 1 cup button and 2 cup button will flash for 3 seconds and beep once to indicate extraction finished. Then, the buttons of 1 cup and 2 cup will remain lit.

Pre-programmed shot capacity – 2 cups

  1. Press the 2 cup button once, the button will light up indicating it has been selected. The other buttons will turn off.
  2. The pump will pump for 2.5 seconds, followed by a break of 3 seconds for pre-infusion, and then it will continue to pump.
  3. A preset single espresso volume of approximately 60ml will be extracted.
  4. The machine will automatically stop once the pre-set capacity has been extracted. After extraction, the lights of the 1 cup button and 2 cup button will flash for 3 seconds and beep once to indicate extraction finished. Then, the buttons of 1 cup and 2 cup
    will remain lit.

Programming the Quantities of Coffee in the Cup

The appliance is set by default to automatically deliver standard quantities. To change these quantities, proceed as follows:

  1. After the pre-heat program is finished, place the cup or cups under the filter holder spouts.

  2. Change the quantity of 1 cup or 2 cup – Press and hold the button 1 cup or 2 cup. The coffee maker starts delivering coffee.
    Once the required quantity of coffee has been delivered into the cup, release the button. Delivery stops and the light flashes to indicate that the quantity has been saved correctly.

  3. When the two coffee lights come on steadily, the appliance is ready for use.

Resetting the Quantity of Coffee

If you want to cancel the quantity of coffee, please proceed as follows:

  1. Connect the machine to power supply. All the buttons will flash for 2 seconds.
  2. After all the buttons turn off, press and hold the steam button for 3 seconds.
  3. Release the button when the machine beeps.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE USING THE COFFEE MACHINE KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

  • WARNING: This appliance must be earthed.
  • Ensure that the voltage of the appliance corresponds to that of the mains supply. Do not place the coffee machine on a metal tray or other metal surface during use.
  • Do not lift the appliance up using the water reservoir. Only hold the appliance body.
  • Do not place the appliance on a polished wood surface, it could damage the wood.
  • Do not place on a tray or surface that may collect liquid.
  • Do not place the appliance over or close to sources of heat such as electric rings, hot ovens or open flames.
  • The use of extension cables not authorized by the manufacturer may cause damage or accidents.
  • Do not use the machine without water, as this may cause the pump to burn out.
  • The power supply cable should not be allowed to come into contact with hot surfaces.
  • Unplug the appliance from the mains before cleaning or maintaining.
  • Do not leave the machine in a room with a temperature below 0°C, as any water remaining in the appliance could freeze and cause damage.
  • Before refilling the water reservoir, unplug the appliance from the mains.
  • Do not overfill the water reservoir.
  • Do not use sparkling water (with carbon dioxide).
  • Never fill the water tank with hot or boiling water.
  • Only use the appliance with the drip tray correctly fitted.
  • The appliance is not designed for commercial or industrial use; it is for domestic use only.
  • Do not touch the metal parts, the filter holder or its housing when the appliance is in use, as this may cause burns or scalding.
  • Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord or plug. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by its service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
  • Do not immerse in water or other liquids.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the coffee machine.
  • Do not operate on an uneven surface.
  • Do not leave this appliance unattended.
  • Turn the appliance and main power off when not in use.

THE COFFEE MACHINE MUST BE FLUSHED THROUGH WITH WATER BEFORE THE FIRST USE.

  1. Follow the instructions as if priming the machine, leave the filter holder (6) empty, i.e. no filter (4), or (5) and no ground coffee. Empty the whole water tank (1) through the machine; this will rinse the internals ready for brewing coffee.
  2. Refill the tank and steam for 10 seconds.
  3. Before they are used the filter holder, measuring spoon, filters, water tank and froth nozzle (9/10) must be washed with detergent and lukewarm water, then rinsed and dried.

HOW TO OPERATION

SETTING UP & PRE-HEAT PROGRAM

  1. Remove the water tank (1) and fill with water to the indicated MAX line. Put the water tank onto the machine, ensure that the drip tray is correctly positioned on the machine.

  2. Plug the power cord into the socket. All the buttons will flash for 2 seconds, after all the buttons off, the machine is ready to use.
    Note: For the first time use: (it will not be prompted after 1st startup, there is no water inside the heating body of the new machine, so it needs to refill water into the heater in order to prevent dry burning), press the “on/off” button, all the LED lights will flash and the machine will buzzer warning, press any button, the buzzer warning will stop.

  3. Press the “on/off” button (13), the buttons (1cup, 2 cup) will flash at the same time. When the pre-heat program is finished, “1 cup” & “2 cup” buttons will be lighting.

USING GROUND COFFEE

  • Select the appropriate sized filter (4/5) depending on whether you are making one espresso, a double or two singles. Make sure it’s dry.
  • Using the measuring spoon (3), measure out one level spoon per serving into the filter. Use 2 level spoons if using the 2 cup filter.
  • With the other end of the measuring spoon, ‘tamp’ the coffee grounds. You are aiming for a firm but not too tightly packed filter.

  1. Press “1 cup button” once, the button will be lighting indicated that it has been selected, the other buttons will turn off, the pump will pump for 2.5S, after a break of 3S for pre-infusion, it will continue pump.

The appliance is set by default to automatically deliver standard quantities. To change these quantities, proceed as follows:

  1. After pre-heat program is finished, place the cup or cups under the filter holder spouts.
  2. Change the quantity of “1 cup” or “2 cup” — Press and hold the button “1 cup” or “2 cup”. The coffee maker starts delivering coffee. If you can want to cancel the quantity of coffee, please proceed as follows:

  1. Connect the machine to power supply, all the buttons will flash for 2 seconds, after all the buttons off, press and hold the button “steam” button for 3 seconds, release the button when the machine with beep sound.
  2. Immediately press the “2 cup” button, the machine will beep 5 sounds indicating that the quantity of coffee has been reset.
  3. After reset, all the buttons off, press the ‘ON/OFF’ button, the machine will buzzer warning, press “1 cup” or “2 cup” button, the buzzer warning will stop after some water come out, and the machine returned to normal service.

How to texture milk

  • Press the machine ‘ON/OFF’, then press the “steam” button (16) to the steam setting. When the pre-heat program is finished, “steam” button will be lighting and stand by working.

  • Turn the “Steam/Water” Control Knob (12) anticlockwise to open the valve, keeping the Steam Nozzle (9) just under the surface of the milk. Take care not to splash the milk.
    Caution: Never allow the milk to boil. Risk of scalding.

  • The milk will swirl in the Jug. If large bubbles form, the Froth Nozzle is not sufficiently submerged in the milk. Caution: Never allow the milk to boil. Risk of scalding.

  • Once milk reaches optimum temperature/forms desired amount of froth, turn off “Steam/Water” Control Knob clockwise. Ensure steam is off before removing Steam Wand from Jug. Pour immediately. Risk of scalding.

  • Flush the Steam Wand by dispensing hot water or steam to remove milk residue from inside Steam Wand. Wipe the Steam Wand with a damp cloth.

  • At the end of your steaming cycle, the Boiler must be primed before making coffee or using the Steam Function again.

DISPENSING HOT WATER

CAUTION: WATER WILL BE HOT AND DISPENSED AT HIGH PRESSURE. Position Steam Wand into a deep Jug or Teapot and point the Wand towards a wall to reduce splashback. Risk of scalding.

PRE-HEAT PROGRAM
Plug the power cord into the socket, all the buttons will flash for 2 seconds, after all the buttons off, the machine is ready to use.
Press the “on/off” button (13), the buttons (1cup, 2 cup) will flash at the same time. When the pre-heat program is finished, “1 cup” & “2 cup” buttons will be lighting.

START DISPENSING

Step 1: Turn the Steam/water Control Knob anticlockwise to open the valve.
Step 2: Immediately press the Function Selector button to the “1 cup button”/“2 cup button” to start.
Caution: Keep hands away from the Steam Wand and avoid hot water splashback. Risk of scalding.

STOP DISPENSING

Once preset volume (1 cup or 2 cup) of hot water has been dispensed, turn the Steam/Water Control Knob clockwise to the ‘Off’ position to close the steam valve.
Caution: Water will be hot, if using a metal Jug, the Jug will get hot. Risk of scalding and burns. Press the “on/off button” to the “Off” position and unplug the appliance when not in use.

CLEANING – AFTER USE

  • BEFORE CLEANING, ENSURE THAT THE APPLIANCE IS SWITCHED OFF, UNPLUGGED AND ALLOWED TO COOL. GROUPHEAD AND FILTER HOLDER TAKE A LONG TIME TO COOL. Risk of electric shock burns and scalding. Do not wash any of the plastic accessories or Filter Holder in the dishwasher.
  • Turn the Filter Holder upside down over a bin and knock out the grounds. Be careful not to throw away the Cup Filter.
  • Empty the Drip Tray regularly. Rinse the Drip Tray Cover after each use.
  • Ensure that the Froth Nozzle is cool before cleaning. Pull the Froth Nozzle off the Steam Wand and wash under running water to remove any milk residue. Risk of burns.
  • IMPORTANT NOTICE: After each use, flush the Steam Wand by dispensing water this will remove any milk residue from inside the Steam Wand and prevent blockages. Risk of scalding.
    Top up the Water Tank with fresh water after making coffee, steaming or frothing milk.

DESCALING

  1. Ensure that the descaling product is suitable for coffee machines. Or use the citric acid (100 water:3 citric acid) instead of the descaling product.
  2. Fill the water tank (1) with the descaling solution.
  3. Place a large container on the drip tray. Operate as if making coffee and steaming until the tank is empty.
  4. Rinse the water tank and fill with water.
  5. Operate as if making coffee and flush water through the machine. This will remove any traces of the descaling solution.
  6. Store the cleaned coffee machine unplugged with no coffee in the filter and with the water tank empty.

At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated waste collection center or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the environment and health, deriving form inappropriate disposal and enables the constituent materials to be recovered to obtain significant savings in energy and resources. As a reminder of the need to dispose of household appliances separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out wheeled dustbin.
