DESCRIPTION

longlass Photo is a light-cured glass ionomer composite. It is an ideal material for dental applications in cavity bases, pit seals, sealing of extended pits and restoration of small lesions. Its chemical composition allows high adhesive strength in enamel and dentin layers, besides presenting excellent resistance to bending and compression. longlass Photo is available in a single-component syringe, making it ideal and practical for handling in dental offices, in addition, its universal opaque pigmentation allows aesthetically desirable restorations.

INDICATION OF USE

longlass Photo is indicated for cavity bases in all restorative materials, sealing of extended pits and fissures and restoration of small lesions.

PRESENTATIONS

  • 1 Syringe with 2,5 g and 5 application tips (available in Universal Opaque color).
  • 1 Syringe with 5 g and 1 O application tips (available in Universal Opaque color).
  • 2 Syringes with 2,5 g each and 10 application tips (available in Universal Opaque color).

COMPOSITION

Methacrylic monomers (TEGDMA, UDMA), initiators, co-initiators, preservatives pigments, fillers and glass ionomer powder.

MODE OF USE

  1. Prepare the cavity according to the restauration technique that will be applied.

  2. Wash and dry the tooth surface.

  3. The operative field must be kept free of contamination. Use absolute isolation or effective relative isolation.

  4. In very deep cavities it is recommended to use a calcium hydroxide-based liner.

  5. Apply longlass Photo directly into the cavity using the applicator tip attached to the syringe barrel and light cure the product for 20 seconds (it is recommended to use photoactivation devices with at least 500 mW/cm2).

  6. For cavity bases thicker than 1 mm, apply and cure in layers.

  7. The light guide should be placed as close as possible to the surface (approx. 2 mm) where the material is to be applied.
For a larger distance, extend the polymerization time.

  8. After use, discard the application tip to avoid contamination.

  9. At the end of the use of the product, slightly retract the syringe barrel to avoid overflow of the product.

WARNINGS

  1. Exclusive use of dental surgeon.
  2.  longlass Photo should not be used in case of known hypersensitivity (allergy) to any of the formulation’s components.
  3. Do not use the product after its expiration date. For disposal, follow your country’s legislation.
  4. Do not reuse the empty packaging.

PRECAUTIONS

  • longlass Photo adheres to some materials, such as temporary crown and bridge materials, methacrylate-based temporary restorations and certain impression materials (e.g., polyether), which may cause damage or even removal of the cavity base. Apply and adhesive in these cases.
  • Due to the extreme stability of longlass Photo after full polymerization, it is impossible to remove excess material with conventional probes at the risk of losing the cavity base. In such situations use a rotary device.
  • Products for pulp protection and dentin isolation should be thoroughly cured or dried before applying longlass Photo (follow instructions for use of these products) to avoid reducing dentin bonding.
  • As this is a light-curing material, the incidence of white light (e.g., operative light or sunlight) may cause partial activation. Therefore, after opening the syringe, apply the product as quickly as possible. And after application, close the packaging completely.
  • Materials based on eugenol or other phenolic substances (e.g., thymol) inhibit the polymerization of longlass Photo. Avoid combining longlass Photo with materials based on these components.
  • Insufficient curing time or light intensity may result in an incomplete reaction. Regularly check the condition of the lamp and light guide of the curing light.
  • Wear PPE when handling the product, including gloves and safety glasses. It is recommended that patients also wear safety glasses.
  • Absolute isolation of the operative field is recommended when handling this product, as loose objects can be accidentally swallowed or aspirated.
  • If there is pulp exposure in the region to be treated, previously promote the lining using adequate material. The application of the product directly on the dental pulp may cause irritation or irreversible damage (pulp necrosis).
  • Do not allow the product to come in contact with eyes, soft tissues or skin. In case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water. If necessary, seek medical attention.
