GENERAL CUTTING (See Fig. F1, F2) NOTE:
- Always use a blade suited to the material and material thickness to be cut. The quality of cut will improve as the number of blade teeth increase.
- Always ensure the workpiece is firmly held or clamped to prevent movement. Support large panels close to the cut line. Any movement of the material may affect the quality of the cut.
- The blade cuts on the upward stroke and may chip the uppermost surface or edges of your work piece when cutting, ensure your uppermost surface is a non-visible surface when your work is finished.
OPERATION:
- Mark the line of cut, clearly before your cutting.
- Do not force the tool. Place the steel base (9) firmly on the workpiece while cutting. Use only enough steady pressure on the blade to keep the saw cutting.
- Reduce the pressure as the blade comes to the end of the cut.
- Allow the saw to come to a complete stop when before removing the blade from the workpiece.
TREE TRIMMING
Use wood blade when cutting tree branches. Hold steel base firmly against tree
brance. Cut close to the branch of the tree to decrease movement of the branch
being cut.
METAL CUTTING
Use a finer tooth blade for ferrous metals and a coarse tooth blade for non-
ferrous metals. When cutting thin sheet metals always clampsteel on both
sides of the sheet to reduce vibration or tearing of the sheet metal. Do not
force the cutting blade when cutting thin metal or sheet steel as they are
harder materials and will take longer to cut. Excessive blade force may reduce
the life of the blade or damage the motor. To reduce heat during metal
cutting, add a little lubricant along the cutting line.
