BRIEFLY

The KNX/DALI Gateway 64/16 IP – from DIN rail – allows communication between the
ballasts that implement the DALI protocol (specifically for lighting control), and the KNX
Home and Building Automation system.
The KNX/DALI Gateway acts as both a DALI Master device and a power supply for the
connected ballasts. Additional DALI power supplies are not allowed. The Gateway can
also control both single-battery DALI emergency lamps (with switchable or non- switchable ballast) and DALI emergency lighting systems with a centralised battery.
The device is fitted with (Figure A ):

Briefly

  1. RJ-45 socket-outlet for an Ethernet connection
  2. KNX BUS connector
  3. Power supply
  4. DALI connector
  5. LED for programming physical address
  6. Button key for programming physical address
  7. Move push-button
  8. Prg/Set push-button
  9. ESC push-button
  10. Fault signalling LED (ERR)
  11. Ethernet line signalling LED (LNK)
  12. Display (2×12 characters) for DALI start-up

ASSEMBLY

Assemble the device on a 35mm DIN rail. To do this, insert the upper device coupling in the DIN rail then rotate it downwards until you hear the “click” that indicates it has been blocked on the rail. For the electrical connections, refer to figure B.

Assembly

MAINTENANCE

The device does not require any maintenance. Use a dry cloth if cleaning is required.

PROGRAMMING

For the initial start-up of the KNX part, the device must be configured with the ETS software. To program the DALI part, the device can be directly configured locally or via Ethernet (using the integrated web server). Detailed information about the configuration parameters and their values can be found in the Technical and User Manuals, available on the website (www.gewiss.com).
