Operation

Short-time operation
The appliance is designed for short-term operation only, i.e. it should not be operated continuously for more than 15 minutes. Allow it to cool down for another 30 minutes, after which it may be used again.

Useful tips for juice extraction

  • Almost all common types of fruit are suitable for juice extraction, such as apples, pears, plums, strawberries, grapes, oranges, melons, kiwi fruit, pineapples, mangoes and papayas.

  • The following vegetables are also suitable for efficient juice extraction: carrots, kohlrabi, celery or cucumber.
However, spinach, rocket (rucola) or different types of lettuce may be processed as well.

  • Bananas or dried fruits are not suitable for extraction.
They contain very little juice and might cause damage.

  • After cleaning, roughly cut up the fruit or vegetables and remove any stones, cores or seeds to prevent damage to the appliance.

  • To facilitate extraction, hard fruit and vegetables such as carrots, fennel or kohlrabi should be cut into smaller pieces

Thermal safety cut-out
The appliance has an integral safety cut-out which protects it from overheating. Should the cut-out have been  activated, disconnect the appliance from the mains power and allow it to cool down to room temperature. Then press the reset button on the base of the drive unit.

Before using for the first time
Clean the appliance as described in the section Cleaning and care.

Switch

  • The appliance is equipped with a function switch.
    0 switched off
    I normal operation
    R reverse operation

  • Do not attempt to change from I directly to R or vice versa. To prevent damage to the appliance, always wait for the motor to come to a standstill first.

Sieve- and sorbet inserts
Fine sieve insert → for clear juices.
To extract juices with a low fruit pulp content.
Coarse sieve insert → for thick juices and jam.
To extract juices with a high fruit pulp content, for making jam and puréed tomatoes for tomato sauces.

Note: The coarse sieve insert is not suitable for extracting juice from harder food items with a low water content such as carrots, kohlrabi etc. Cocktail tomatoes are also unsuitable for processing.

Sorbet insert
