Assembly

Handlebar Assembly

  1. Attach the handle adjuster to the girder and secure with the bolt and clip.
  2. Vary the angle of the handle adjuster on the girder to adjust the handle height according to the operator’s height.

Tine Assembly

The tiller is supplied with a double set of tines, plus an additional single set for extra wide cultivation. The tines are
handed, meaning they have a bevelled leading edge that must always face forward.

Front Wheel Assembly

  1. Attach the front wheel bracket to the tiller using the spring and lockpin.
  2. Fix the front wheel in the down position using a lockpin for transport purposes.
  3. When cultivating, move the wheel to the up position.

Dragbar Assembly

The dragbar can be adjusted to different tilling depths:

  1. Attach and adjust the dragbar using the locknut and retainer.
  2. Start with a shallower gauge if the soil is hard, gradually lowering the dragbar to the desired depth.

Operating the Tiller
To operate the tiller, start the engine and engage the tines. Move the tiller forward while maintaining a firm grip on the handles. If necessary, adjust the tilling depth by adjusting the dragbar. To stop the tiller, release the tine engagement switch and ease off any downward pressure on the handles.

  • Check your tiller before use. Keep guards in place and in working order. You should only work with a machine that is in good condition. If you notice any defect on the machine that

  • may cause damage to the operator, do NOT operate until faults have been rectified. Replace worn or damaged parts using only original spare parts.

  • Do NOT operate the tiller whilst under the influence of drugs, alcohol or any medication that could affect your ability to use the apparatus correctly.

  • Dress appropriately – do NOT wear loose clothing, ties, jewellery or anything that could be caught in the moving tines. Use of gloves and strong footwear are recommended.

  • Keep children and pets at least 10metres away from the tiller at all times and do NOT operate near underground electric cables, telephone lines, pipes or hoses.

  • Wear eye protection and face or dust mask if working in dusty conditions.

  • Do NOT operate on a slopes of more than 10 degrees. When on slopes, slow down and make sure you have good footing.
ever operate the machine with one hand and be aware that, if the tines hit stones, frozen ground or buried roots and stumps, then it may unexpectedly bounce upward and jump forward.

  • If the tines hit a large stone, stump or other obstacles check immediately for any damage to the tines. If the machine starts to vibrate abnormally switch off the motor immediately and check for causes.

  • Always switch off the machine, wait for the tines to stop turning and disconnect the spark plug before carrying out any inspection or maintenance. The tines will not stop immediately after switching off.
