Product Information

The WisMed Mobile app is a free application that allows users to stay up to date with WisMed news, connect with members, explore events, access resources, and participate in discussions. The app is available for both Android and iOS devices.

Key Features:

  • News Feed: View and interact with WisMed news, polls, and discussions.
  • Profile: Customize your profile and upload a profile photo.
  • Discussion: Join conversations with other app users.
  • Messages: Engage in one-on-one or group conversations.
  • Resources: Access useful documents provided by WisMed.
  • Events: Find WisMed-related events and add them to your schedule.
  • My Schedule: View all the events you have added to your schedule.
  • App Users: Discover and connect with other users of the app.
  • Member Directory: Search for WisMed members.
  • PolicyLink: Participate in policymaking.
  • WisMed Website: Access the official WisMed website (wismed.org).

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Download the WisMed Mobile app by following these steps:

    • For Android devices:
    1. Access the Google Play Store on your device.
    2. Search for “WisMed Mobile” in the search bar.
    3. Download the app for free.
    • For iOS devices:
    1. Access the App Store on your device.
    2. Search for “WisMed Mobile” in the search tab.
    3. Download the app for free.
  2. Open the WisMed Mobile app on your device.

  3. Login using your wismed.org credentials (username and password).

    • If you encounter any issues with logging in, please email [email protected] or call 800.762.8975 for assistance.
    • If you have forgotten your username or password, click on “Forgot Username?” or “Forgot Password?” at the bottom of the login screen. You will be redirected to our website where you can change your login credentials. For further assistance, contact [email protected].
  4. To ensure synchronization between the app and the website, any changes made to your information in the app will be reflected on the website and vice versa.

  5. In case of an error message or frozen app screen, follow these steps:

    • Restart your device.
    • Relaunch the app.
    • If issues persist, take a screenshot of the error message or frozen screen and email it to [email protected]. Include a description of the problem, your device type (Android or iPhone), device version (e.g., 8Plus or X), and software version (e.g., 13.0.1).
  6. Explore the different tabs or menu options available in the app:

    • News Feed: Interact with WisMed news, polls, and discussions.

    • Profile: Customize your profile and upload a profile photo.

    • Discussion: Participate in conversations with other app users.

    • Messages: Engage in one-on-one or group conversations.

    • Resources: Access useful documents.

    • Events: Find WisMed and related events.

    • My Schedule: View the events you have added to your schedule. Please note that you still need to register for events separately; registration instructions can be found in the event’s
      description.

    • App Users: Discover other users of the app.

    • Member Directory: Search for WisMed members.

    • PolicyLink: Participate in policymaking.

    • WisMed Website: Access the official WisMed website (wismed.org).

    • Twitter: Visit WisMed’s Twitter page.

    • WisMed OnCall: Listen to WisMed’s podcast.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD

  1. Access the App or Google Play store from your device
  2. Search for “WisMed Mobile” and download the app for free
  3. Open the WisMed Mobile app and login with your wismed.org credentialsApps-WisMed-Mobile-App-FIG- \(3\)

TROUBLESHOOTING

  • When I logged in, it said my username and/or password was incorrect.
    Your app username and password will be the same as your wismed.org website credentials.

  • I forgot my username or password.
    Click “Forgot Username?” or “Forgot Password?” at the bottom of the login screen to be taken to our website where you can change your username and password. Contact [email protected] if you have any issues.

  • If I change my information in the app, does that mean it changes on the website, too?
    Yes, it does and vice versa!

  • An error message pops up, or the app screen is frozen.
    Restart your device and return to the app. If issues persist, take a screenshot so our development team can get a better idea of what’s happening. Please email that screenshot to [email protected] with a description of the problem, device type (Android or iPhone), device version (i.e. 8Plus or X) and software version (i.e. 13.0.1).

NEWS FEED

This is where we share WisMed news and polls. You can interact with content in many ways:Apps-WisMed-Mobile-App-FIG- \(6\)

  • Like a post by clicking the thumbs up icon
  • Comment by first clicking on the post then clicking “Your text here…” at the bottom
  • Save content by clicking the “Bookmark” flag icon. Access saved bookmarks within your Profile
  • Share to others in the app by clicking the “Share” icon
  • Reply to comments by clicking “Reply” at the bottom of a comment
  • Filter by keyword by clicking on a post’s tag or use the “tags” button at the top of the feed
  • Search for posts using the magnifying glass

You can also switch between the WisMed Twitter feed and WisMed OnCall podcasts at the top of the page.

PROFILE

  • Wisconsin physicians can join the Society or renew membership
  • Saved content from the News Feed will appear under the “Bookmarks” tab
  • Create notes about other members on their profiles that will then be saved here under the “Notes” tab (These notes are only seen by you)Apps-WisMed-Mobile-App-FIG- \(7\)

DISCUSSION

  • To view posts, click a title to open up the discussion
  • To create a post within a discussion topic, click the “+” icon, select the discussion category, add your text and attach any files (optional)
  • Comment on original posts by clicking the topic or question and typing at the bottom
  • Reply to comments by clicking “Reply” underneath and to the right of the comment
  • Follow posts by clicking the “+ Follow” icon on the bottom right of a post to never miss a comment within that thread – Your followed discussion posts will appear in your News Feed as well

  • View sent and received messages in the “Direct” and “Group” options – “Direct” is messaging between you and one other person and “Group” is messaging between you and multiple people
  • Create a new direct or group message by clicking the “+” icon in the top right corner and selecting the people you want to chat with.
  • Attach photos or files to messages by clicking the bottom left paperclip icon
  • You can also visit other profiles, add additional people to the chat, leave the chat and clear chat history by clicking the top right menu icon

  • To view files, click a folder to open its contents and click on an individual file
  • To export or save a file, use your phone’s share/save functions

  • View upcoming events in “Calendar” view by selecting the calendar icon at the top of the screen
  • Event registration instructions can be found in an event’s description – Click on an event to view full description
  • Share events by clicking the “Share” icon then selecting recipients within the app and search for recipients in the top search bar
  • Add an event to My Schedule or device calendar by clicking “Add to Schedule” (You will still need to register)

MY SCHEDULEApps-WisMed-Mobile-App-FIG- \(12\)

My Schedule displays all events you have added.
NOTE : You will still need to register for an event. Registration instructions can be found in the event’s description.

APP USERS

You can view all people who use the app here.

  • Search users by:
    • Using the magnifying glass search tool
    • Using the location search tool
    • Sorting by shared groups
  • Click the speech icon and/or visit their profile to start a direct message with someone
