Create an account

Tip: If you already use the August App, use the same username and password.

Insert Batteries

Remove the shipping tape and lift the lid.
Open the battery compartment and insert 3 AA batteries.
Reinstall the cover.

Add Security Box to the Yale Access App

Set up Smart Security Box
Tap “Set up a device” from the app menu. When asked, scan the Yale QR code on the bottom of your smart storage box.
Tip: Once batteries are inserted, you have 5 minutes to complete this step. If your app doesn’t find the storage box, press and hold (5 secs) the reset button on the inside of the storage box lid.

Create Entry Codes

Once added to the Yale Access App, you can create and delete entry codes or share app access by tapping the Guest icon in the bottom menu.
Mount or Tether Security Box For Added Security (Optional)
There are 2 mounting holes on the Smart Storage Box. First, remove floor from box.
Attach included mounting hardware to storage box then remove protective film from adhesive tape on hardware plates and place storage box in desired location.

Secure box by looping security cable around a large fixed object then opening the box and placing the key lock end into the slot at the back of the box.

Security Box can always be opened with USB C cable and valid code.

Press any key to lock storage box (listen for locking sound) Close Storage Box lid

Settings Definitions

Setting Default Definition
Privacy Mode Off While in Privacy Mode, the storage box will not open

even when a valid Entry Code is entered. This setting can be changed from the Yale Access App.
One Touch Locking| On| Touching any key on keypad will lock the storage box. This setting can be changed from the Yale Access App.
Sound| On| The sound setting for entry code verification can be set from the Yale Access App.

  • When security box is paired to app, Factory Reset must be done from app. During a factory reset the storage box will be unlocked.
