M95ED Replacement Cartridge

Product Information:

The product is a range of Shure cartridges for stereo systems
and turntables. These cartridges are designed to improve the
performance of your audio system by providing precise tracking and
high-quality sound reproduction. The cartridges listed below are
compatible with all four-channel matrix systems:

  • V15 TYPE IV
  • V15 TYPE III
  • M24H
  • M95ED
  • M91ED
  • M75ED TYPE 2
  • M95EJ
  • M75EJ TYPE 2
  • M75ECS
  • M75CS

Operating Parameters:

The recommended operating parameters for each cartridge are as
follows:

  • V15 TYPE IV: For outstanding performance in all precision
    quality tone arms capable of tracking at 1-1/4 grams or less.

  • V15 TYPE III: For excellent performance in precision quality
    manual tone arms and automatic turntables capable of tracking at
    1-1/4 grams or less.

  • M24H: For truly compatible stereo and 4-channel performance in
    high-quality manual tone arms and automatic turntables capable of
    tracking at 1-1/4 grams or less.

  • M95ED: For deluxe performance in high-quality manual tone arms
    and automatic turntables capable of tracking at 1-1/2 grams or
    less.

  • M91ED: For custom performance in standard manual tone arms and
    automatic turntables that operate in the 1-1/2 to 3 gram tracking
    force range.

  • M75ED TYPE 2: For extra durable high track performance in older
    manual tone arms and record changers requiring 2 to 4 gram tracking
    for optimum operation.

  • M95EJ: For upgrading older, heavier tracking cartridges or for
    maximum economy in virtually any tone arm or record changer
    tracking from 3 to 5 grams.

Note: Other Shure cartridges in the same tracking force range
may be used if preferred.

Product Usage Instructions:

To use the Shure cartridges, follow these instructions:

  1. Select the appropriate cartridge model based on your system
    requirements and the operating parameters mentioned above.

  2. If you need to replace or upgrade the stylus, refer to the
    Shure Replacement Stylus Chart and choose the appropriate stylus
    model.

  3. Make sure your tone arm or turntable is capable of tracking at
    or below the recommended tracking force for the selected
    cartridge.

  4. If necessary, adjust the tracking force of your tone arm or
    turntable to match the recommended tracking force for optimal
    performance.

  5. Install the cartridge and stylus according to the instructions
    provided with your tone arm or turntable.

  6. Ensure proper alignment of the cartridge and stylus for
    accurate tracking and sound reproduction.

  7. You can use other Shure cartridges within the same tracking
    force range if preferred.

CARTRIDGE SELECTION
GUIDE

Just as a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and a camera only as good as .its lens, the quality of your stereo system will be limited by the performance capability of your weakest component. For example, a superb, light tracking cartridge
operating in a tone arm designed to be used at heavier tracking forces will yield far poorer results than a cartridge specifically designed to track in the correct range of that tone arm. Conversely, it is senseless to use a heavier tracking cartridge, which might result in increased stylus and record wear, when a very light tracking cartridge can be used. It is with this in mind that the following recommendations are made:

STYLUS CLEANING: To clean the stylus, use a camel’s-hair brush (No.2 size or smaller) dipped lightly in alcohol or alcohol-distilled water solution; grain alcohol is recommended. TO PRESERVE STYLUS LIFE:
1. Follow the turntable or tone arm manufacturer’s instructions when adjusting anti-skating force in the suspension syslem of the tone arm.
2. Do not handle the tone arm while it ‘is in operation . Accidentally touching the tone arm while the turntable is rotating can cause the arm to sweep across the record.

3. If it is necessary 10 manually place the tone arm in the record groove while the turntable is rotating, be sure to release it as soon as the stylus engages the record groove.
4. Correct any improper set-down adjustment or malfunction of the turnlable changing mechanism to prevent the slylus from striking the edge of the turntable or the record.
5. Take care to properly inserl the stylus inlo the carlridge assembly and the cartridge and shell assembly into the tone arm receptacle .
6. Use proper vertical tracking force selting for each cartridge. Misadjuslmenl of the tone arm counterbalance can cause excessive vertical force beyond specified limits.
7. Do not use excessively warped, cracked, or imperfect records.
8. Be sure to protect the stylus when cleaning the turntable with a dusl cloth ,
