  1. TRAPEX linkage assembly
  2. Tube end cap
  3. Mounting bar
  4. Vertical linkage
  5. Horizontal cross-bar
  6. M5 hex dome nut

Physical Installation

The following steps should only be performed once the round boom pole has been succefully fitted onto the SECTOR II .

The TRAPEX barrier fence consists of modular sections of 1.5 meter lengths each. These modular sections can be mounted onto the barrier pole in series to make up the length required.

  1. Place the mounting bar onto the boom pole 330mm away from the edge.

  2. Mark and centre punch at least three hole positions per TRAPEX module for drilling.
Keep note of orientation. Holes must be facing away from the direction of traffic. TRAPEX must be installed on the opposite side of the LED strip.

  3. Drill 5mm holes.
Holes must be drilled through only one wall of the boom pole.

  4. Fasten the TRAPEX module to the boom pole using pop rivets.

  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 on the next TRAPEX module ensuring that the mounting bar lines up with the previous one.
On barriers fitted with a 3m boom pole, the last module of the TRAPEX barrier fence will extend past the end of the boom pole, and may be trimmed if required.

  6. Join the bottom of the TRAPEX modules by inserting half of a module joiner into the end of the first horizontal cross-bar, and then inserting the other half of the module joiner into the horizontal cross-bar of the next TRAPEX module.

  7. Mark and center punch two hole positions on each side of the module joiner for drilling.

  8. Drill four 5mm holes.

  9. Fasten the horizontal cross-bars to the module joiner using two pop rivets on each side.
Add as many TRAPEX modules as you need to cover the length of the boom pole.

  10. Remove the plug on the bottom end of the cabinet and place the TRAPEX linkage assembly against the cabinet.

  11. Replace the plug to hold the TRAPEX linkage assembly in place.

  12. Mark and centre punch four hole positions on the cabinet for drilling.

  13. Drill four 5mm holes.
Ensure that the TRAPEX linkage module is perfectly horizontal to the ground.

  14. Fasten the TRAPEX linkage assembly to the cabinet using four pop rivets.

  15. Insert the expansion bolt on the TRAPEX linkage into the horizontal cross-bar and fasten it in place.
To tighen the expansion bolt, you may have to remove the M10 bolts nearest to the expansion bolt, to make space for a spanner.

Installation Handover

Once the TRAPEX has been successfully installed and its operation tested, it is important for the operation and safety considerations to be explained to the end-user of the system.
