Taper Infusion – Basic Functions
** This quick guide provides guidelines for the basic functionalities of
the Avoset infusion pump. If you are not a clinician please refer to the
Important usage information guide, for additional information and the safe use
of the product.

Review Preprogrammed Infusion Parameters
Press NEXT to navigate between the infusion parameters

Press the REVIEW multi-function button to see the infusion parameters| 1st
parameter:
The rate of the infusion between tapering phases| 2nd parameter:
The total volume to be infused during the infusion

3rd parameter (optional):
Amount of time over which the rate increases until
reaching the plateau rate| 4th parameter (optional):
Amount of time over which the rate decreases from the end of the plateau rate|
5th parameter:
The time required to complete the infusion
| Back to main display
(REVIEW option is available again)|

**** Based on the infusion programming, additional parameters may be displayed. Refer to the User Manual for further information.
Change Infusion Parameters
Editing a Taper infusion is possible only before the infusion starts, the changes apply to the current infusion and future repeated infusions. The example below shows how to edit the taper up duration and keep the VTBI unchanged

1. Press the EDIT multi-function button to change infusion parameters| 2. To
skip a parameter and not edit it, press the
SKIP multi-function button| 3. To edit a parameter use the +/- keys, in this
case to change the taper up duration
|

4. Press the OK multi-function button once
the requried duration is displayed| 5. Press NO to finish editing or press
YES to edit additional parameters| 6. Review the edited parameters, to
confirm
press CONFIRM, to change press EDIT
| 7. Back to main display (the REVIEW option is
available again)|

Review Infusion Parameters during Infusion

Press the INFO multi-function button to see the infusion parameters| 1st
parameter:
The time required to complete the infusion| 2nd parameter:
The total volume infused so far

3rd parameter:
The remaining volume to be infused| 4th parameter:
The rate of the infusion between tapering phases| 5th parameter (optional):
The amount of time over which the rate gradually increases until reaching the
plateau rate

6th parameter (optional):
The amount of time over which the rate gradually decreases at the end of the
plateau phase| Press the DONE multi-function button to navigate to the main
display| Back to main display
(the INFO option is available again)
Immediate Taper Down
The treatment can be ended prematurely if needed, by using the “immediate taper down” option (when available). It immediately starts the taper down phase as programmed.
