Product Usage Instructions
Charging the Battery
To charge the battery:
- The charging indicator light does not provide information about the battery’s charge level.
- After 14 hours of charging time, always unplug the power supply from the socket.
Operating the Trimmer
To start using the trimmer:
- Read and follow the instructions carefully.
- Slide the ON/OFF switch (4) upwards.
Trimming and Shaving
The trimmer is designed for precise trimming of hair and beard contours, as
well as clean shaving of the hairline in the neck area.
Cleaning
After each use, clean the trimmer with water. Ensure that the trimmer is
turned off and disconnected from the power supply before cleaning.
Storage
Store the trimmer in a safe and dry place when not in use.

If you pass the appliance on to a third party, always include all the relevant documents.

Unpacking the Appliance
- Remove the appliance from its packaging.
- Remove all packaging material, such as foils, filling material, cable ties and cardboard packaging.
- Check the scope of delivery for completeness.
- If the contents of the packaging are incomplete or if damage can be detected, do not operate the appliance. Return it to the dealer immediately.

Warnings for the Use of the Appliance
Read the instructions!
Only use with “HSM / R 3313” power supply unit! For the purpose of recharging
the battery, only use the detachable supply unit provided with this appliance.
Do not use power supply with damaged plug! If the pins of the plug part are
damaged, the plug-inpower supply shall be scrapped.
WARNING of Electric Shock:
- Keep the power supply unit dry.
- Do not charge the appliance near bathtubs, shower trays or other vessels containing water.
- If the appliance does fall into water, first unplug the power supply unit from the wall socket.
- Charge the appliance in a cool, dry place.
- Do not replace any parts. Do not make any modifications.
WARNING : Risk of Injury!
- Do not press the shaver head of the shaver too hard on the skin.
- Do not use the appliance if the shaving head is damaged.
- Never remove an attachment during operation!
CAUTION:
- Choose the place for charging so that the appliance is not exposed to direct sunlight or other sources of heat.
- Do not charge the rechargeable battery unattended.
- Always unplug the power supply unit from the wall socket after charging.
Notes for Use
- Only trim main or beard hair with the appliance.
- Only cut dry hair with the appliance.
- Start with the longest setting and trim your main hair/beard hair gradually to the desired length.
- You can reach the smallest setting “ 3 mm ” by removing the comb attachment.
Charging the Rechargeable Battery
- Switch off the appliance:
- Slide the switch (4) down. OFF is visible on the switch.
- Connect the power supply plug with one of the connection sockets listed below.
- There is a connection socket directly at the lower end of the appliance.
- Or place the appliance in the charging / installation station. The connection socket is located at the rear.
- Connect the power supply unit to a socket.
- The charging indicator lights up during the charging process.
- The charging indicator light gives no indication of the rechargeable battery’s charge status.
- Mains-only operation is not possible.
- Charge the appliance for 14 hours before using it for the first time.
- Always unplug the power supply unit after 14 hours of charging.You will extend the life of the rechargeable battery if you observe the following:
- Wait until the rechargeable battery is almost empty before charging.
- Do not leave the appliance connected to the charger for more than 14 hours.
- Only charge the appliance at an ambient temperature between 0 °C and + 40 °C.
Using the Appliance
Switching On and Off
Slide the switch (4) to turn the appliance on or off. Cutting Hair and Trimming the Beard
- Select the cutting length with the help of the cutting length comb. Press and slide the button (3) at the same time.
- Slide the switch (4) towards the shaving head.
Trimming Contours and Shaving Out the Neck
- Remove the cut length comb (1) and slide the switch (4) towards the shaving head.
- The shaving head enables precise trimming of the beard contours and clean shaving of the hairline at the nape of the neck.
End Operation
Slide the switch (4) down.
Cleaning
WARNING:
- Switch off the appliance before cleaning. Unplug the power supply unit from the socket.
- Do not immerse the appliance, the charging station or the power supply unit in water!
CAUTION:
- Also do not clean the appliance under running water! The electronics could be damaged.
- Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive objects.
- Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
- Regular cleaning and maintenance guarantee optimum results and a long service life.
- Remove hair residues after each use with the cleaning brush.
- To do this, pull off the cutting length comb (1).
- To fold out the shaving head, press the two buttons (2) on the back of the appliance.
- After cleaning, fold the shaving head back in so that you hear it click into place.
- Place the cutting length comb back on.
- Clean the outside of the appliance if necessary with a slightly damp cloth.
- Clean the power supply unit only with a dry cloth.
Important Care Advice
To maintain the cutting performance of the shaving head for a long time, regularly apply 1 – 2 drops of acid-free / resin-free oil, such as shaving head oil, sewing machine oil or precision mechanics oil to the shaving head. This lubrication keeps the shaving head running smoothly and prevents the blades from becoming blunt.
Storage
- Clean the appliance as described and allow it to dry completely.
- Always store the appliance out of the reach of children in a well-ventilated and dry place.
- The storage temperature should be between 10 °C and 20 °C.
- We recommend storing the appliance in its original packaging if you do not intend to use it for a longer period of time.
- Rechargeable battery lifespan: Even when switched off, the rechargeable battery is constantly discharging. If you do not use the appliance for a longer period of time, charge the rechargeable battery at least every 4 to 6 weeks

Disposal
Dispose of Batteries / Rechargeable Batteries
This appliance is equipped with a rechargeable Ni-MH battery. Remove the
battery before dispos- ing of the appliance. As a consumer, you are obliged by
law to return old batteries/accumulators.
WARNING:
- Use a small Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screws from the bottom of the Remove the bottom of the casing.
